Chapter 137: Chapter 137 - The Capital(Part 5)

Point-of-View: Argent Stryker

———————————————————————————

"Elemental Lightning: Mega Lightning Arrow Barrage!" Exclaimed the Knight with the crescent shaped Soul Weapon, firing out five rapid lightning arrows at me while simultaneously flinging his weapon up at me...just like I thought, he does use it like a boomerang.

The one with the gun then fired out a rapid wave of energy bullets up at me, a countless number of projectiles shooting up relentlessly.

I turned intangible in response, all the incoming projectiles going right through me harmlessly, before I swung one of my blades out as the crescent blade closed in on me, deflecting it towards the wall and getting stuck between the bricks.

I then rapidly rapidly swooped down towards them, before the one with the shield stepped out in front as I closed in, raising his arm as I slashed my blades outwards, hitting his shield and sending him stumbling back.

Elemental Flame: Burst Wave!

I burst out a shockwave of intense flames, forcing them to jump back and spread out as it hit them, eliciting cries of pain as they sustained burns on their arms. The one with the shield, his weapon is pretty small, not nearly enough to fully block a wide attack.

I then shot towards the one with the gun, who fired out another barrage of bullets at me, but to no avail. I leapt straight at him as he then aimed at my feet, slashing my left blade at his throat.

He quickly raised his gun defensively and blocked it, before I swiftly thrusted my right blade straight at him.

"Elemental Earth: Rock W-...!" He began in alarm, but was too slow to react, as I pierced through the top of his head and violently twisted my blade.

I then noticed the crescent blade stuck in the wall disappearing, before the Knight chanted again to re-manifest it. I kicked off the corpse of the one I’d just killed to backflip over it as he flung it at me, before reactivating Jet Soles and shooting myself straight at him like an arrow.

As the crescent blade came spinning back and I closed in on him, he activated a plasma Spell and fired it at me, which passed through me before I passed right through him, a sharp gasp echoing out as his own weapon struck him through the middle of the chest.

I’d let the weapon catch up to me and turned intangible, hiding it inside my own body...the moment I passed through him, the blade struck him simultaneously. I then drove one of my blades in through the back of his neck, yanking it out as he let out a choked wheeze, blood gushing out of his neck as he collapsed onto his knees.

"T-take this!" Cried the last one, as he fired out the spikes on his shield at me, new ones growing back almost instantly as they shot towards me.

"Come on, haven’t you been paying attention?" I sighed, as the spikes passed right through me.

I then shot towards him as he chanted to shoot out fire Spells along with more spike projectiles, but to no avail. As I closed in on him, I acted like I was about to drive my blades towards his neck and chest, and as he raised his shield up defensively...I slashed at his elbow, severing his forearm along with the shield.

He let out a cry of pain as he stumbled back and fell down, clutching at the stump by his elbow as blood poured out of it. A look of terror appeared on his face as I approached him, tapping my blades together with threatening clangs in an effort to intimidate him.

"W-wait...! P-please don’t kill me...!" He cried in desperation.

"Yeah, okay."

"H-huh? Really?" He responded fearfully.

Damn...that response is really tempting me to act like it was a fake-out and be like ’no’, before decapitating him. But I can’t, I need a guide...

"Mhm, but not for free, of course. I’m looking for someone down here, and I could use a guide. You wouldn’t happen to know anything about a Prince being kept down here, would you?" I inquired with a raised eyebrow.

"Y-you mean Prince Rhyle, the runaway who was recaptured a few years ago?" He responded timidly.

Good, he knows about dad, that makes things easier.

"Yeah, that’s right. Take me to him. Do so, and I’ll spare you. Hm, I suppose we ought to stop that bleeding before you die," I remarked, as I shot out a fireball at his bleeding elbow stump, eliciting a sharp hiss of pain from him as I seared the wound shut, "So, can you take me to him? Or would you rather die right here and now?"

"N-no, don’t kill me! I’ll...I’ll take you to him!" He responded immediately.

"Glad we could come to an understanding...though, if it turns out that you’re deceiving me, I’ll kill you in the most brutal way I can imagine. Do I make myself clear?" I stated icily.

"Y-yes, sir."

"Uh...this isn’t exactly much of an opening. If anything, it’s making things tougher for us...they’re all rushing back into the castle," Remarked Phyurio in bemusement.

"I figured she must be powerful, but this really is really exceeding my expectations," I responded in disbelief.

"Hey, stop running away! Aren’t you people supposed to protect this place!?" Exclaimed Izzozon indignantly, as she shot towards a fleeing guard and pulled him back, "Come on, get back here and fight me!"

"Wow, I almost feel bad for those bastards...," Muttered Phyurio, as the guard collapsed onto the ground and scrambled away, pissing her off even more.

"Can’t say I agree."

"Damn it, come back!" Snapped Izzozon, flying into the castle as all the guards that had been outside were either dead or had retreated back in.

"Not exactly according to plan, but this should make sneaking into the castle a lot easier," Remarked Phyurio wryly.

"Yeah, this might be our best chance to get in. Let’s go-...," I began with a nod.

"Wait, I can sense someone heading this way. Based on their speed, they’re probably using a motorcycle. We should hurry, they’ll be here soon," He frowned as he interrupted me.

"Just one of them?" I responded in surprise.

"Only one that I can sense...though I bet more are already on their way here," He replied quietly.

"Then there’s no time to waste," I surmised grimly.

"Right, just give me a minute...," He muttered, as he jogged over to a dead guard whose armor wasn’t damaged, the face of the corpse completely burnt off.

He quickly took off the armor and put it on himself, before using his Transformation Skill to assume the appearance of the guard. I decided to do the same, working as fast as I could as I found a dead guard who was about the same build as me.

The armor isn’t completely undamaged, but it’s intact enough, it’ll do. Phyurio then burnt the body of the corpse he’d looted with a fireball, reducing it to a smoldering, charred pile, right as I heard the faint sound of an engine.

"The one you sensed is almost here, let’s go!" I urged him with a sharp whisper.

"Right, I’m good to go now," He replied with a nod.

We then made our way to the entrance and headed in, after he confirmed that the coast was clear inside of the entrance.

The sound of tyres coming to a screeching halt rang out outside, followed by the sound of hurried footsteps coming towards the entrance. We ducked into a side path as a figure shot in through the entrance, a young woman...hm, if I’m not mistaken, that’s the current Knight Commander.

She’s one of the few on our list of Nobles to avoid killing, so we’ll leave her alone. Once she ran past us, I mulled over whether we should split up or stick together...hm, I think we should play it safe and go with the latter...

"Let’s stick together. And keep your Life Detect on alert for Izzozon...since we’re dressed like this, she might attack us if we come across her before we have time to reveal who we are, so we should avoid running into her," I suggested warily.

That’s something we absolutely need to avoid at all costs, after seeing what she’s capable of, I don’t fancy my chances of defeating her under any circumstances.

"Yeah, we’ll almost definitely die if we fight her," He nodded in agreement, before adding, "Hey, that woman who ran in was the Knight Commander, right? Maybe we should’ve followed her, she might be heading for the Royals to protect them."

"Probably, but no, I don’t think we should have followed her...if she’d noticed us, we’d have no choice but to fight her," I shook my head, before suggesting, "Now, then, let’s go find our targets, shall we?"
