Chapter 188: Chapter 188 - The Haven(Part 17)

"So, uh...we’re launching the attack tomorrow afternoon, right? Is this really the right time to be partying?" I inquired in bemusement.

"What are you talking about? We need this to get our spirits up for tomorrow, it’s necessary!" Laughed Howll, as he took a deep hit off a bong and blew out a large cloud of smoke.

It’s the 17th of Martius, 2020, and it was around 8 PM at night. About an hour ago, the Elders suddenly declared that we were gonna party tonight, and here we are now.

It won’t really affect me since I can use my Universal Resistance Skill to avoid any hangovers the next day by sobering myself up before I go to sleep, but everyone else will likely be feeling the effects.

"There’s no need to worry," Remarked Tania, as she flew over towards me, continuing, "We can use our Enchantment power to nullify any lasting effects, you see."

"Oh, nice, that’s pretty convenient. How come you didn’t use that last time though?" I asked her curiously.

"A while ago, we made the decision not to use Enchantments to prevent hangovers, after careful consideration and discussion...we decided on that because otherwise, some of us would go way overboard since there were no consequences to fear," She sighed, as she gave Howll a narrowed side glance.

"Yeah, I was firmly against that, but when it came to the vote, I was outnumbered," He recalled with a look of disappointment, before his face lit up with a wide grin, "But tonight, I can finally experience it again, and enjoy myself with reckless abandon!"

"I have to admit, I agree with you, for once," Chimed in Sinia wryly.

"Hmph, then you should’ve voted against it like I did," He huffed in response.

"Alright, guys, I think I’m gonna call it a night. If I drink or smoke anymore, I won’t be up for a fight tomorrow," Remarked Argent, as he walked over.

"Oh, there’s no need to worry. As I just told your brother, we Fairies can use our Enchantments to prevent any hangovers or other lasting effects. So by all means, enjoy yourself to your hearts’ content," Replied Tania, as she sat on my shoulder and lit up one of the mini bongs I’d made for the Fairies.

"Hahaha, that’s right, it’s a party! There’s no need to worry about anything else right now or hold back!" Laughed Ulfar heartily as he unsteadily walked over.

The Dwarf Elder, he sure looks like he’s already had plenty to drink. The Dwarves don’t smoke much, they seem to prefer alcohol to weed, and he’s clearly guzzled down quite a bit already.

"Well, if that’s the case, I suppose I’ll indulge myself," Responded Argent wryly, before heading over to get a bong.

"I must say, the metal you’ve been providing us with is fantastic! The quality is excellent, I’m thoroughly enjoyed working with such fine material! I daresay we’re set to produce some of the best weapons and armor we’ve ever created!" Grinned Ulfar, patting my back a couple of times with a cheerful laugh.

Myself and the others have been spending time with the Elders over the last few days, to discuss tactics and strategy regarding tomorrow’s attack on the Monsters that have been invading the Haven.

And as a result of that, they’ve all warmed up to us considerably, I think it’s safe to say that they mostly trust us now. And I’ve all but stopped worrying that they might try something against us...I’m still gonna keep my guard up, but I’m not nearly as wary as them as I was on day one.

We’ve now been here for just about a week, so by my old world’s standards, we’ve still got about a month left before we have to leave, about thirty days. It’s just as well, we can’t hide out here forever.

We still have things that we all need to do...Argent and I fully intend on making that bastard, Drakkar Dianus, pay for he did to Rhyle. And Izzy wants to free the last five Demons, who are all each currently sealed away in a different country in the Dark Continent. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

Yeah, don’t know if that’s the best thing for the world, it may very well end up resulting in an apocalypse or something. But maybe Izzy can talk them down from world domination, or at least convince them to spare us since we’re here friends. Oh, well, I’ll worry about crossing that bridge when we get to it.

And as for Prysm...huh, actually, I don’t think she has any big goal or objective to accomplish. Nothing that I know of, at least.

Well, anyway, there’s still plenty of time before our time down here comes to an end, there’s no point in looking too far ahead, especially with the current situation in the surface.

Speaking of which, I haven’t called Gior after that first time, I should contact him after tomorrow’s Monster hunt is over. We need to keep tabs on what’s happening up there, so that we’ll be well placed to decide on our next course of action when the times comes for us to leave the Haven.

"What’s with the serious face? Come on, relax and have fun!" Grinned Sinia as she put her arm around my shoulder, clearly extremely high.

"Yeah, I guess you’re right...no point overthinking things," I replied with a wry smile.

I’ll just focus on enjoying myself for now, and then look to get some rest before tomorrow’s expedition. It’s best to take things step by step instead of overloading my brain with too many thoughts on different, unrelated concerns.

Still though, I can’t help but wonder...what exactly is the situation out there right now? I hope everyone we’re allied with are okay, Ilex, Rosary, Rayven, Gior and Phyurio. Hope they’re not having too hard a time dealing with the Knights, not to mention the True Nobility...
