Chapter 193: Chapter 193 - Second Wave(Part 5)

Initiate Skill: Invisibility!

"Wha-...hey, are you making me the bait again!?" Exclaimed Lynks indignantly, as I formed several Mana whips out of my Soul Weapon, sending them zipping out towards the Dragonoid and Viciousaur.

If this doesn’t work, we’re well and truly screwed. There’s absolutely no way we can take on three Catastrophic Grade Monsters and win, this is a gamble on my part, one in which I’m placing my life on.

I channeled the whips with as much Mana as I could, while continuing to have them lash out at the Monsters...I can’t control these anywhere near as well as Larrk controls his whip, but I should be able to keep the Monsters at somewhat of a distance for a short while.

As Lynks evaded an incoming spiderweb net from the Mega Taratect, I raced away as the Dragonoid blasted out a wave of flames towards me, channeling a substantial amount of Mana through the whips to keep them remotely manifested in the same spot.

Alright, good, it worked...the whips are staying manifested in place even after moving away, they should last for at least a few more seconds on their own...and that’s all I need!

I raced towards the building on which the Mega Taratect was perched on the side up, leaping up with all my strength as I closed in on it, shooting up towards the Monster.

It suddenly swung one of its legs at me, poised to pierce through the middle of my head. Crap, looks like it noticed me even though I’m invisible...but I can still do this!

I swung my right foot out as fast as I could, slamming it against the wall of the building...and right onto the Monster’s shadow. Initiate Skill: Shadow Bind!

I paralyzed the Monster right as the tip of its leg broke through the skin on the middle of my forehead, a trickle of blood running down the bridge of my nose...before I could fall back down and my hand could come off its shadow, I quickly extended out a Mana blade from my Soul Weapon, piercing through the Mega Taratect’s head before extending it further and slashing the blade up, splitting the back of its body open. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

I turned my body across in mid-air as I began to plummet back down, landing on my feet with a thud and leaping out of the way, right as the massive body of the Mega Taratect crashed onto the ground around the spot where I’d landed.

Alright, that’s one down...I should take on the Viciousaur and have Lynks keep the Dragonoid occupied, if I can use Shadow Bind on the Viciousaur, I can easily-...my eyes then widened in alarm as a massive burst of flames came shooting towards me from my left.

I quickly spun around in that direction and unleashed a burst of Mana while simultaneously jumping back. I managed to cancel out the flames, an explosion of heat and dust bursting out upon impact, before the Flame Dragonoid came zipping out of the dust cloud with a fierce roar.

It closed in on me in the blink of an eye, rapidly swiping its claws at my throat. I quickly fired out a sharp blast of Mana straight upwards, shooting myself down and narrowly avoiding getting my head taken off as my back thudded back onto the ground, a couple of shallow cuts appearing across my neck as the Dragonoid’s claws grazed my skin before I shot myself down.

As my back hit the ground, I let out an agonized yell of pain as the Monster swiftly viciously stomped on my left elbow with a loud crunch, shattering the bones before raising its foot again.

I quickly rolled out of the way as it stomped down, deep cracks spreading out across the ground where I’d been laying sprawled on my back, before I hurriedly scrambled back onto my feet.

D-damn it, the pain in my broken arm is killing me, the shattered bone shards and piercing into my flesh and muscles, the slightest movement hurts like hell...!

I gritted my teeth as I did my best to ignore the pain, before I began to charge up a Mana blast, but before I could take my aim, the Dragonoid shot towards me, grabbing my face and slamming me against the wall of a building, its claws digging into the sides of my face as it began squeezing, grabbing my right wrist to keep me from using my Mana Armament...it’s trying to crush my face, and it’s about to break my wrist...!

Th-this is bad...it’s using its wings to hover, it’s deliberately avoiding my Shadow Bind...!

Suddenly, a ring blade came flying across, hitting the Dragonoid across the side of the head and leaving a deep gash across it, eliciting a pained snarl from the Monster.

In that instant, its grip on my wrist weakened, before I used all my strength to break free of its grasp and jammed my hand into its mouth and manifested my Soul Weapon again as fast as u possibly could, before unleashing a burst of Mana spikes right inside its throat and branching them out rapidly, as it began to snap its jaws shut, killing it as its teeth sunk into my skin, and just before it could bite my arm off.

I drew my arm back out and pulled its claws out of my face...a couple of the claws had pierced in below my eyes, the rest had been through my cheeks, a couple of my back teeth have been knocked out.

As I spat out my broken teeth, I glanced to my left as a roar echoed out, to see Lynks flinging one of his ring blades at the Viciousaur, which shot past the side of its head, before he used his Switch Skill to swap places with the blade, and the flung his other ring blade at the back of the Monster’s neck with a rapid spin.

But it was quick to turn around, roaring in pain as the ring blade sliced across its right eye, before whipping its tail at Lynks before he could react, slamming onto him and sending him flying across, his right side crashing onto a lamppost with a loud clang, eliciting a stifled cry of pain from him as his shoulder got dislocated.

He fell onto the ground with a thud, sitting up with a dazed groan as the Viciousaur stomped its way over to him, growling menacingly.

"Switch with me, quickly!" I yelled at him, his eyes widening as I snapped him out of it.

His lips moved rapidly as he chanted and the Monster closed in on him, before I found myself in his place, with the Viciousaur looming over me. In other words...I was right under its shadow.

As it opened up its jaws, I quickly activated Shadow Bind, paralyzing it before bursting out a large Mana blade straight into its open mouth, piercing through the roof of its mouth and out the top of its head, swinging my arm back and splitting its snout in half.

As the Monster went limp and collapsed onto the ground with a thudding crash, I let out a strained sigh of relief as I stumbled back and let myself fall onto the ground, completely and utterly worn out...not to mention that I’m in incredible pain all over.

"Th-thanks...I really owe you one," Remarked Lynks, as he limped his way over.

"No, we’re even, you saved me first, remember?" I pointed out wryly, before grimacing in pain as my broken arm began throbbing agonizingly.

"Well...at least it’s over now. Right?" He sighed wistfully.

"Don’t say that, things always go wrong when people say stuff like that. On another note...let’s go find a healing Magic Item. I’m...I’m in so much pain right now..."
