Chapter 233: Chapter 233 - The Slime King(Part 11)

"Okay...that should do it. I’ve healed all his injuries and regenerated all the parts he lost, as well as replenishing enough blood to maintain functionality and keep him alive. Unbelievable...even if he does have a Contract with Demon, is that really enough to keep him alive after sustaining that much damage?" She mused in fascination, before standing back up with a grunt as she placed her hands on her back and arched the middle of her body forward, "Ow, my back...shouldn’t have stayed squatting in the same position for so long. Alright, I’m done, he’s all healed up. It’ll probably be at least a few hours before he regains consciousness, but-...woah!"

"Thank you! Thank you so much!" I cried as I pulled her into a tight hug, feeling immensely relieved.

"U-uh, hey...cut it out, this is-...," She began as she tried to wriggle out of my grasp.

"I owe you a debt of gratitude, Lumena! Thank you for saving him, you’re the best!"

"O-okay, I get it, you’re welcome! Now, come on, let go already," She muttered as she awkwardly patted my shoulder.

"Oh, sorry about that...I couldn’t help it, I’m just so relieved and happy right now," I grinned sheepishly, as I wiped away the tears streaming down my face.

"Are you really a Monster? It’s just...you seem so human."

"Huh? I do? I don’t know about that...I mean, it’s not like humans are the only species that care for others," I shrugged in response, as I lifted Larrk and carried him out of the puddle of blood, setting him down on a dry spot on the ground.

"Well, when you put it that way...man, it feels like I’ve gained a whole new perspective. A Monster bawling over a human and pleading for their life to be saved...never thought I’d see anything like it. You two are a weird pair...but certainly not in a bad way. I blindly followed what I considered to be common sense when I was a kid...the people from the Dark Continent are all evil scum, those with both Attributes, Heretics, aren’t human, and all Monsters are vicious, unfeeling abominations.

Of course, then I turned out to have both Attributes, and ended up being enslaved by the very people I once believed in and trusted. It was easy to follow their beliefs when I was still considered as one of them...but oh, how quickly and mercilessly they turned on me. I never did anything wrong, but I was made to suffer regardless. I never gave any thought to the prejudice towards so-called Heretics, until I was branded as one.

I guess it’s the people of the Light Continent that are truly evil, then...you two are from the Dark Continent, right? If a Monster and human can get along so well, it must be quite a nice place to live," She remarked with a wistful sigh.

"No, not really. Larrk has to keep his Light Attribute hidden, the Heretic thing is the same in the Dark Continent. And we have another friend, a girl who possesses the Light Attribute, she has to live in hiding to survive. We also have a bunch of Demi-Human friends who have to live in hiding to avoid being hunted down by humans.

Hm, now that I think about it...I guess I was really lucky to meet humans like Larrk. See, I was almost enslaved by humans, when I met Larrk’s brother, who saved me. It made me realize...judging a group by their species or by where they live is pointless. It comes down to the specific individuals...some are good and some are bad.

Before that, I used to hate humans. But thinking that all humans are exactly alike...well, that’d make me no better than the very type of humans I despise. So, I won’t let an individual’s species or whatever determine whether they’re my enemy or not...instead, I’ll make that decision based on their actions," I remarked as I stared up at the ceiling, thinking back on the memories I’d made with Argent, Larrk, Prysm and the others.

"Heh, if only the people in power could think like that, this world would be a much better place," She responded, as she walked over towards Larrk’s unconscious body and peered down at him, "Hm, I gotta say...this guy’s got a pretty nice body. Wow, even flaccid, it’s pretty big..."

"Ugh, could you not?" I groaned as I looked away.

"What? By the way, with how desperately you were begging me to save him, is he, like, your boyfriend or something?"

"No, he’s not. I’m with his brother, so he’s more like a brother to me," I shook my head with a shudder.

"Oh, yeah, you did say something like that earlier. So, between him and his brother...whose dick is bigger?" She inquired curiously, as she poked Larrk’s, u-uh, thing a couple of times.

His clothes had been almost completely destroyed, so most of his body was exposed. I’d made a conscious effort to avoid looking at anything below the waist...and now she’s drawing attention to it. This is awkward...

"Ew, don’t ask me that! Also, stop molesting him while he’s unconscious."

"Please, this nothing. Compared to how immensely my body has been violated, this is absolutely nothing."

"That’s all the more reason not to. You don’t want to be like the people who tormented you, do you?" I pointed out.

"Come on, why’d you have to say that? Now I have no choice but to stop," She sighed, standing back up and stepping away, before adding, "Well, anyway...what now?"

"Let’s wait for him to wake up and then decide. He’s good at planning and stuff," I replied, after mulling it over briefly.

"Sure, fine by me. With the Slime King defeated, this place might be the safest spot in the Labyrinth right now...so I’m in no particular rush to leave..."
