Reincarnation Tribulation - All I Want Is A Peaceful Isekai Life
Chapter 314 - Arcadia Championship Clash(Part 4)
Point-of-View: Aries Velenet
———————————————————————————
"She’s the one who defeated you, is that right, Commander Velenet?" Inquired King Landis, as a bright blue light shone out of the barrier surrounding the arena, the fiery light washing across the entire stadium.
"Er, yes, your Highness...twice, actually," I replied quietly.
I didn’t need to be reminded of that...
"Hah, that’s my daughter, isn’t she amazing?" Grinned Satan with a cheerful look on his face, as the flames then dispersed, before the barrier faded away, a stifling gust of hot air bursting out and spreading out across the entire stadium, a molten orange glow shining out of the arena...
I see, she’s the Demon Lord’s daughter. No wonder she’s so powerful.
"Th-the entire arena has been melted down...," Stuttered one of the Nobles in disbelief.
"Wh-what a frightening Monster-...er, I-I mean, lovely young lady," Added one of the others, quickly correcting himself as Satan give him a narrowed side glance.
She literally turned the entire arena into a pile of molten concrete...the last time I fought her, if she’d intended to kill me, I’d undoubtedly be dead, without a shred of a doubt.
And if the other Demons are as powerful, or even more powerful, than she is, they wouldn’t even need an army, they could conquer an entire nation by themselves if they wanted to. At this point, Arcadia’s fighting force is starting to feel excessive.
Fortunately, they seem to have no intention of starting conflicts with the other nations at the moment, and we definitely need to keep it that way...provoking them would be suicide, we’d be completely and utterly helpless against their power...
"Okay, looks like the arena has cooled down and hardened, and it’s just been fixed up with Earth Magic, so it’s time to get the next match underway. The fourth match of round one, Prysm Duralles vs the Dwarf Elder Ulfar."
Hm? Wait, Prysm...Duralles? Hold on, isn’t she-...my eyes widened in recognition as she approached the arena. I know her, I’d met her a few times when she was a child, she’s...
"That’s former Commander Duralles’ daughter, isn’t it? Yes, I remember now, she possessed the Light Attribute and was set to be executed, but she disappeared after the Duralles house was massacred. And come to think of it, they’d been killed by Larrk Stryker after enslaving him, is that right?" Recalled King Landis.
"Yes, that’s right...I pursued him after he killed them and broke free, after which he managed to escape the capital. I see, he must have taken her with him when he left," I surmised in surprise.
"How curious...I’m sure he must have been tortured by the Duralles family, and yet he not only spared one of them, but seemingly took them under his wing. Maybe he took pity on her because her own family disowned her for possessing the Light Attribute? Or maybe she gave him no reason to have a grudge against her in the first place?" He suggested uncertainly.
Whatever the case, I’m glad to see that she’s okay, she seemed like a sweet girl the few times I met her. Wait, if she’s participating in this tournament, does that mean she’s really powerful too? I guess we’ll find out shortly...

Point-of-View: Prysm Duralles
———————————————————————————
"Okay, both competitors are in the arena, so here’s the countdown...ten, nine, eight..."
It’s been a while since I fought for real, I’ve been keeping up with my training and all, but I haven’t even sparred against anyone lately. Hope I’m not too rusty...
"Three, two, one, zero."
"Manifest Soul Weapon: Gravity Axe!" I swiftly chanted, before I shot forward as my axe formed in my hands, making it weightless to avoid getting slowed down by it.
"Initiate Skill: Boozt," Chanted Ulfar, as he quickly grabbed a bottle attached to his belt and chugged down the contents, before a wave of earth spikes came barreling towards me. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
That Skill he just used, Boozt, gives him a physical boost when he drinks alcohol, and the more he drinks, the stronger he gets. I think it’s a Skill that only Dwarves can possess, if I’m not mistaken.
I then used the Wind Spell Flight to fly up into the air, before rapidly swooping down towards him as I raised my axe up high. As I began to close in on him, I instantly covered the remaining distance using my Teleportation Skill and then swung my axe down at full force while increasing its weight as much as I possibly could, a deafening crash ringing out as he leapt out of the way right in the nick of time and narrowly avoided the swing of my axe, which then slammed onto the floor of the arena with a devastating impact.
Deep cracks spread out across the arena as the floor broke apart, before my eyes widened slightly as the broken shards came shooting towards me, as Ulfar used his Earth Magic to take control of the shards.
I hurriedly lightened the weight of my axe and flew up, grimacing as one of the shards grazed the back of my left calf, before I healed the injury as trickles of blood ran down my leg and teleported several meters away as several more shards came shooting towards me.
"Elemental Water: Mega Water Slash!" I exclaimed, unleashing a wide, rapid slashing wave of water straight towards him.
He was quick to respond, as he raised a wall of earth in front of himself, a deep cut appearing across the middle of it as my attack struck it but failed to fully cut through, before I teleported above him and unleashed an intense, concentrated blast of water straight down towards him with immense force.
He zipped out from behind his earth wall and raced across as I then fired a barrage of small but rapid, piercing water projectiles at him, grazing him a few times as I adjusted my aim with every shot...
"Initiate Skill: Durability!" He then chanted, coming to an abrupt halt and letting my attacks hit him, the water projectiles tearing through his leather armor but failing to do any damage to his body.
Crap, I was hoping to end this before he gets a chance to use that Skill...like Boozt, it’s a special Skill that only Dwarves can possess, and when activated, it makes then effectively invulnerable for five minutes, though it can only be used once a day.
Even Izzy’s Dragon Fire is rendered ineffective against it, and Soul Weapons can’t hurt him while it’s active either, we tested both out while we were staying in the Haven.
Hm, wait...now that I think back to it, when Izzy used her flames on him back then, while it didn’t hurt him at all, only burning his clothes, he did suddenly ask her to stop since he couldn’t breathe.
That’s it!
That Skill may nullify all forms of physical damage, but that’s all...invulnerability won’t mean much if he can’t breathe. I don’t know for sure if this’ll work, but it’s certainly worth a shot!
I then zipped across the air as he unleashed a barrage of piercing earth projectiles up towards me, evading them while charging up a Spell of my own...
"Elemental Water: Double Ultra Water Ball!" I exclaimed, as I formed two massive, swirling spheres of water and fired them down towards him, a loud splash ringing out as the spheres slammed onto the floor of the arena, forming a shallow pool at the bottom of the arena, thanks to the safety barrier keeping the water from flowing out.
His eyes widened in alarm and realization as I continued firing off more Ultra Water Ball Spells, the water level inside the arena rising rapidly before he quickly extended out a pillar of earth from below him, launching himself up and out of the water, before I swiftly fired off a water slash to cut through the pillar, the severed half falling over and plummeting along with Ulfar, crashing onto the water below, which had now filled about half the barrier.
Thanks to their stocky builds, Dwarves aren’t great swimmers, so he’ll try to sink down until he touches the floor so that he can raise another pillar or something...but he won’t get there in time.
I rapidly swooped down towards the surface of the water, planting my right palm onto it and chanting...
"Elemental Ice: Deep Freeze!"
As the large mass of water then turned to ice with immense speed as I channeled as much Mana into the Spell as I could, the safety barrier triggered and teleported Ulfar out before the ice could reach him, the air around me sharply growing colder as I let out a slow exhale, mist flowing out of my mouth.
"Okay, that’s the fourth match done, the winner is Prysm Duralles."
