Point-of-View: Aratron

"Alright, everyone, it’s time for the fourth match of round two, it’s the Demon Aratron vs the Werewolf Elder Howll!" Exclaimed the announcer, the crowd buzzing with excitement as I made my way onto the arena.

I never thought this would be possible...so many humans reacting to me with cheers and anticipation instead of fear and hatred. It’s a new feeling, and I must admit, it is not an unpleasant one.

Now, then, as for my opponent...based on what I saw of him during his previous fight, his Teleportation Skill is the biggest threat he poses. His other abilities shouldn’t be too much of a challenge for me to deal with, but I won’t take him too lightly, that could prove costly.

Since Werewolves can’t use Magic, my Drain ability, which creates jaws of smoke that consume Mana, won’t have any effect on him...in which case, I’ll have to rely more on my Devour ability, which creates jaws of smoke that inflict physical damage instead.

"That’s an awfully serious look you’ve got on your face...I probably can’t win if you go all out, but then, there’d be no point in winning if you’re holding back," Remarked my opponent with a smirk.

"Yes, while I have no interest in this competition, I have no choice but to compete seriously. And unfortunately, I can see that you intend to fight in earnest, which means I will have to exert some degree of effort...what a pain," I sighed, staring up at the sky as the barrier formed around the arena.

"Without any further ago, let’s kick off the countdown! Ten! Nine! Eight! Seven! Six! Five! Four! THREE! TWO! ONE!!! ZEROOOO!!!!!"

The instant the countdown ended, the Werewolf swung his right arm across and fired out a rapid slashing wave at me from his claws, before teleporting as I unleashed a blast of Negative Energy, canceling out his slashing wave as he reappeared behind me and drove his claws towards my back.

I grabbed his wrist with my tail and pulled him off his feet, flinging him away right as he fired out a deafening howl at me from his jaws, dazing me as I sent him hurtling across the air before he teleported again, reappearing to my right before his back slammed onto the side of my arm before I could recover from the effect of his howl, knocking me off balance and sending me stumbling across to my left.

He was quick to get back onto his feet before leaping at me and slashing at my throat with his claws. I swiftly tilted my upper body back as I recovered from the disorientation of his howl, his claws grazing the skin over my neck and drawing out a trickle of blood as I activated and unleashed my Devour ability, jaws of smoke forming and snapping at his torso.

He hurriedly sprang back in response, a stifled gasp of pain ringing out as my Devour ability chomped off a layer of his fur and skin over his stomach, blood pouring out and splattering across the arena floor as the injury began to steadily regenerate and close up.

I flew up as he backed away and got some distance away from me, before I fired out a beam of Negative Energy at him, which he teleported to evade, reappearing behind me in the air and swiping his claws at my back.

I swiftly spun around and grabbed his right wrist before his claws could reach me, before I sent my Devour ability shooting out towards his head.

He quickly slashed at my wrist with his left hand, loosening my grip over his right hand and wrenching free of my grasp, twisting his upper body back while tilting his head back and teleporting back down before my Devour ability could fully engulf him, only managing to chomp off a chunk of his left shoulder before he teleported.

I swerved across the air as he fired off a slashing shockwave up at me the instant he reappeared down below, a grimace on his face as he healed the injury I’d inflicted to his shoulder, before inhaling sharply and unleashing a fierce howl up towards me.

I quickly flew up higher while flying across closer to the edge of the barrier’s ceiling, before he teleported again. I swiftly spin around the instant he disappeared, but he wasn’t behind me...I quickly turned my gaze up, just in time to see him driving his claws down towards my head.

I quickly tilted my head across as fast as I could, his claws grazing my right cheek and tearing down my skin before plunging into the top of my right shoulder.

I swiftly reached out as grabbed his wrist before he could escape, tearing his claws out of my shoulder and pulled him across, grabbing his other wrist as he began to slash at my arm to try and weaken my grip again...sorry, but the same trick won’t work on me twice.

And now that I have him firmly in my grasp, he can’t use teleportation to escape, I’ll teleport with him if he tries...

"Damn it...!" He exclaimed, opening his jaws to try and unleash another howl at me.

"Too slow," I remarked, as the jaws of my Devour ability engulfed his head and began to snap shut, triggering the barrier and teleporting him out before my ability could take his head off.

I let out a sigh of relief as I flew back down towards the arena...okay, that wasn’t too hard, I did take a bit of damage but nothing too painful. Glad that’s over, and I don’t need to do anything else until the next round...but every subsequent fight from here on will only get more and more intense, what a pain...

"That’s the fourth match of round two done and dusted, the winner is...Aratron!"
