Reincarnation Tribulation - All I Want Is A Peaceful Isekai Life
Chapter 392 - Vampire Attack(Part 18)
Point-of-View: Frielektra
———————————————————————————
"Well, this isn’t good, we’re at quite a significant disadvantage here," Frowned Terrastra warily, activating the nullifying Magic Item as the moonlight barrier formed around us, but to no avail.
"Stay calm...it’s true that we’re in a dire position, she’s now three times more powerful than she was before, and her clones are just as powerful as she is. But that said, they’re not too difficult to destroy...their cores are in the middle of their torsos, and they’re a lot larger and more brittle than her core is. Not to mention, they can’t move their cores around, so we just need a solid hit to the middle of their bodies and they’ll be destroyed," I remarked, as Caera, along with her five clones, surrounded the two of us.
Damn it, there’s no way to tell which one is her and which ones are the clones...I was really hoping that she’d end up facing off against the Demons, they’re a much better match up against her since they can regenerate.
She isn’t all that skilled of a fighter, but her Blood Clones ability more than makes up for that...and even if she is less skilled than we are in battle, she is much faster and stronger than us, thanks to this moonlight barrier.
"Yes, that’s correct. Very good, I see your memory hasn’t failed you, Plasma Dragon King Frielektra," One of them responded with a smile.
"However, you seem to have forgotten one crucial little detail," Spoke up another of the clones.
"Allow me to remind you...as soon as one of my clones is destroyed, I can immediately create a new one to take its place!"
"And of course, there’s no way to discern which one is the real me."
"But then, it won’t really matter in the end."
"That’s right, after all..."
"...you’ll be dead well before you get the chance to figure it out."
"Ugh, as if she wasn’t creepy enough on her own...," Muttered Terrastra uncomfortably, before tensing up as the six of them zipped in towards us.
I swiftly flew up as Terrastra rapidly burrowed into the ground by manipulating the earth below her, blue flames swirling intensely around my body before I unleashed a fierce shockwave of Dragon Fire, hitting Caera and her clones.
They swiftly extended out their claws and hacked off the areas of their bodies that had been set ablaze, severing the burning spots of flesh before the flames could spread any further, right as I swooped down towards one of them, unleashing a pressurized jet of flames from my feet as I closed in on her.
I then drove my fist forward at full power towards the middle of her torso, before firing out a sharp burst of flames from the left corner of my mouth as she began to whip her claws in towards the side of my head, hitting her hand and knocking it back as it got set ablaze, right as my fist slammed onto the middle of her torso.
A loud crunch echoed out, before her entire body reverted to blood and splattered across the ground...I see, so that one was a clone.
I then glanced back as three of the remaining ones charged in towards me, right as several earth spikes burst out from the ground behind me, piercing into their torsos before they could reach me.
Sharp edges of earth then burst out of their bodies as the earth spikes branched out inside them, all three of them falling apart and splattering across the earth spikes as they turned back to blood.
"Impressive, you’ve managed to take down four of my clones unscathed, not bad...not bad at all," Remarked Caera with a calm smile, before creating four more clones to replace the ones we destroyed, as Terrastra re-emerged from the ground with a grimace.
"Yes, that was rather easy...is that the best you can do?" I called out tauntingly, though I already knew the answer.
"My, maybe you’ve gotten stronger than I remember," She said in response, my taunt appearing to have no effect...well, it was worth a try, I suppose.
More importantly, she isn’t going all out yet...she isn’t exactly holding back, at least not deliberately, though. It’s more that she’s a slow starter when it comes to battle...the longer the fight progresses, the more she gradually sharpens her movements and the intensity of her attacks.
In other words, the longer this goes on for, the worse our odds become...of course, there’s a limit to that, once she reaches the limits of her stamina and energy.
But we can’t count on that...thanks to her clones, she can conserve her stamina. At the very least, enough to outlast our stamina. As for her energy...hm, wait. Now that I think about it...
"Ohh, how did I not realize this before...yeah, I get it now. You were using plenty of blood attacks earlier, but after you used your Blood Clone ability, you’ve only been using physical attacks! That can only mean one of two possibilities...the first, is that you can’t use blood attacks and Blood Clones at the same time. And the second possibility, which I think is the more likely case, is that your Blood Clones consume a large amount of your energy. Am I wrong?" I inquired with a smirk, before my blood ran cold as her expression darkened, despite her smile not fading in the slightest.
"And? You figured it out, but what of it? Because, and correct me if I’m wrong, it changes nothing. Knowing how my Unique Ability works won’t change the odds...either way, you’ll die," She replied with a malevolent smile...
