"My girlfriend started school today, so I came to drop her off."

Wei Shuyu guessed instantly. The most beautiful girl she had seen all day was Lin Xi. When Lin Xi was registering, a male upperclassman had tried to get her WeChat, but she turned him down flat. At the time, she said she had a boyfriend, and everyone assumed she was just making an excuse.

Wei Shuyu and another student carried the table, walking toward the school in high spirits. The other student was also a member of the student council, but he was typically more low-key, so his presence was less noticeable.

After entering the school grounds, Xue Yang headed straight for the girls’ dormitory. Along the way, he undoubtedly attracted the attention of many students, all of them wondering what he was doing going to the girls’ dorm.

While they were still puzzled, they saw Xue Yang emerge with a large bag of snacks. Then, he walked straight into the girls’ dormitory. Since it was the first day of school, the dorms were temporarily open for everyone’s convenience, so no one stopped him as he carried the large bag inside.

Inside Room 303, Liu Shiqi and Cao Xinrou had picked everything up off the floor. However, some of their things had been broken, and both of them were in a terrible mood. The atmosphere became ice-cold again.

Just then, a knock came from the door. Cao Xinrou was closest, so she opened it. When she saw the incredibly handsome boy standing in the doorway, she was completely dumbfounded.

What is going on? Is Room 303 paved with gold or something? All the handsome guys and beautiful girls are flocking here.

Before she could react, Lin Xi saw Xue Yang and her eyes instantly lit up. She ran over to him.

"Xue Yang, how did you get up here?"

He keenly sensed the unusual atmosphere in the dorm and knew he’d made the right call buying the snacks.

"I finished my call and came up. These are the snacks you asked me to buy as a little welcome gift for your new roommates. Are these them? Hello, my name is Xue Yang. I’m Lin Xi’s boyfriend."

"It’s all a misunderstanding," Liu Shiqi said, taking the initiative to break the awkward silence.

Xue Yang smiled. "If it’s a misunderstanding, then it’s good that it’s cleared up. My girlfriend can be a bit timid, so since she’ll be living here from now on, I hope you two ladies will look after her."

"Who needs them to look after her?" Si Wen snorted with disdain.

Just as Cao Xinrou and Liu Shiqi were about to let the unpleasantness go, Si Wen’s one comment sent things right back to square one.

"Who said anything about looking after you? We were talking about Lin Xi. Don’t flatter yourself, okay?"

"Xiao Xi grew up with me. What makes you think she would choose to hang out with you two instead of me?" At this moment, Si Wen was like a mother hen fiercely protecting her chick, terrified it would be stolen away.

"With a temper like that, you must bully Xiao Xi all the time. Xiao Xi, don’t be afraid. From now on, we won’t let anyone bully you."

"If you keep spouting nonsense, I’ll tear your mouths to shreds."

Xue Yang stood to the side, listening to them argue.

They say one woman is the equivalent of 500 ducks. I’m finally experiencing it for myself. Luckily, my Xiao Xi is kind and not as noisy as they are.

"Si Wen, stop arguing. We’re all roommates, and this is the first day we’ve met. Let’s be amicable," Lin Xi said, holding Si Wen back, worried she would rush forward and start a fight. It was something she was definitely capable of doing.

"There’s no being amicable about this," Si Wen retorted, though her attitude had already softened slightly. "They started it."

"How did we start it? We just put some things on your bed. We had just arrived and were setting up our own beds. When you came, you could have just told us, and we would have moved them right away. But no, you just swept everything off the bed and onto the floor. My water bottle was broken because of you!"

"And you think you’re in the right for putting your stuff on someone else’s bed?" Si Wen’s explosive temper flared up again.

"I can’t be bothered to argue with you," Cao Xinrou said, not wanting to dwell on the matter any longer, especially not in front of Lin Xi’s boyfriend.

After listening for a while, Xue Yang had pieced together what happened.

The truth was likely this: Liu Shiqi and Cao Xinrou had arrived at the dorm first and began to set up their beds. With nowhere else to put their belongings, and seeing that Si Wen hadn’t arrived yet, they temporarily placed their things on her bed. They figured that by the time she arrived, they would be nearly done and could move everything immediately.

However, when Si Wen entered the dorm and saw things on her bed, she swept it all onto the floor with a wave of her hand. Liu Shiqi and Cao Xinrou heard the crash, saw the mess on the ground, and immediately started arguing with her.

"I think I understand the situation. And in a sense, I don’t think what Si Wen did was wrong."

Hearing Xue Yang’s words, Si Wen glanced up at him.

She had honestly expected Xue Yang to say it was her fault, since she was the one who had knocked their things onto the floor.
