Remarriage Failed Again Today
Chapter 335 - 334: Tell Me, Are You Really Leaving? (8)
He also seemed like a stranger.
In her memory, Aaron Wyatt had always been warm, refined, and gentle.
He was always smiling, full of warmth, and easygoing.
But she had never seen him so cold, radiating a palpable chill.
Watching Aaron Wyatt kiss Annabelle Linton, Leona Grant’s expression changed in a flash. A sharp glint flickered in his cold, lifeless eyes.
He snatched the gun from a mercenary’s hand, chambered a round, and aimed it at Aaron Wyatt. "Wishful thinking? Who the fuck is being delusional here? Annabelle Linton is my woman! I’m giving you three seconds to let her go, or I’ll turn you into a beehive today!"
"Heh, you think I’m scared?!"
The words had barely left his mouth when Leona Grant fired.
BANG—
Aaron Wyatt dodged nimbly, a vicious glint in his eyes. His gentle facade fell away, revealing a sharp edge as he drew his own pistol and aimed it at Leona Grant, ready to fire.
Just as he was about to fire, Annabelle Linton snapped to her senses and shoved Aaron Wyatt hard!
The bullet went wide.
Seeing someone pose a threat to Leona Grant, his snipers took aim in unison. Just as they were about to fire, Annabelle Linton threw herself in front of Aaron Wyatt.
The color drained from Leona Grant’s face. He roared, "Stop!"
But it was too late. A bullet was already heading straight for Annabelle Linton.
It didn’t hit her, though. Aaron Wyatt had pushed her out of the way, too.
It was a breathtakingly close call.
Seeing that Annabelle Linton was unharmed, Leona Grant finally breathed a sigh of relief.
The next moment, he whirled on the mercenary who had just fired, his face twisted in rage as he shot the man in the shoulder. "You useless bastard! More trouble than you’re worth! Get the hell out of my sight!"
His guns were always top-of-the-line; a direct hit meant certain death!
He couldn’t bear to imagine what would have happened if that sniper’s bullet had hit Annabelle Linton.
He was panicking. He was afraid.
’If Annabelle Linton were gone from this world, how could he possibly go on living?’
Leona Grant’s face was thunderous. His voice was a low, brutal roar as he yelled at Annabelle Linton, "I’ll say it one last time, get over here!"
Shaking off the terror of the last few moments, Annabelle Linton looked at Leona Grant.
"Annabelle..." Aaron Wyatt gripped her hand, a silent reassurance not to be afraid.
With a grave expression, Annabelle Linton met Leona Grant’s gaze.
Leona Grant looked absolutely furious.
Seeing Annabelle’s still-blank expression, Leona Grant snarled in frustration, "Get over here, or I’ll blow his brains out!"
Hearing this, a realization hit Annabelle Linton almost instantly.
’Things have gotten out of hand today. I’ve well and truly pissed off Leona Grant.’
’Leona Grant would never tolerate Aaron Wyatt. Even if he let Aaron go today, he would undoubtedly have him killed in secret later.’
’For a man in his position, having a gun pointed at him is the ultimate taboo; it’s a matter of pride.’
’Leona Grant won’t let Aaron Wyatt go, and it’s all my fault. I can’t just stand by and do nothing.’
’Today, we have to leave together. If Leona Grant hunts us down, then I’ll have to flee with Aaron Wyatt.’
’Ultimately, I’m the one who dragged Aaron Wyatt into this.’
Annabelle Linton looked coldly at Leona Grant and said with determination, "Let us go."
Leona Grant’s rage intensified. He bellowed, "I told you to get over here!"
Annabelle Linton repeated herself, her tone calm. "I said, let us go."
"Impossible!"
"Fine."
Annabelle Linton gave a faint smile, a sharp glint in her eyes. The next second, she drew a dagger and aimed the tip at her own left shoulder—
Leona Grant’s pupils contracted. "Don’t!" he cried out in panic.
Aaron Wyatt had only just realized what she was doing. He moved to stop her, but it was too late!
The tip of the dagger plunged deep into Annabelle Linton’s shoulder!
