Return of The Alpha Heiress
Chapter 91: Richard – Meeting
A pill that can turn vampires back into werewolves is clearly no ordinary pill. It is a discovery with significant influence.
"Is that really possible?" I asked, torn between disbelief and awe.
Noah nodded. "I’ve heard those rumors as well, Commander."
Clarissa explained about the pills developed by WitchAe, which had received strong support from Grey Pack.
The company had conducted trials on Grey Pack warriors who were turned into vampires while helping packs along the border.
Grey Pack itself was located in the western part of the West Region, bordering the sea. Because of that, it was the most popular vacation spot during summer. It was far from the packs near Mount Sire, the vampires’ territory.
Not only was it safe, Grey Pack also owned the largest orb mine in the West Region and was known as the second most prosperous pack.
If not for Alpha Black’s long-standing political cunning, Grey Pack might have become the central pack of the West Region.
Now, it was also home to WitchAe, one of the top ae-device companies.
"Warriors who were turned into vampires can return to being werewolves," Clarissa explained calmly in her soft voice.
"After one year, they showed no side effects at all. They were able to return to their duties as warriors in Grey Pack and continue developing their abilities without any issues."
"Despite this evidence, no other pack has dared to use the pills," she continued. "The Royal Government in the capital city has not officially approved them yet."
Clarissa looked between Marvin and me.
Deep down, I really wanted to stop her from glancing at Marvin.
"Commander Dawn and Commander Black are Lycan King candidates," she said. "You both have the authority to allow Frost Pack warriors to use these pills."
My eyes narrowed. Not because of what she said, but because she mentioned Commander Dawn first.
I nearly hissed when Marvin spoke up.
"I agree with Lady Rissa," he said smoothly. "Instead of letting them suffer while waiting for death, we should try the pills. We just don’t need to tell them, so they don’t hold false hope."
Marvin again. Always before me.
"Lady Rissa is right," I cut in quickly. "I’ll send enforcers to Grey Pack immediately to retrieve the pills."
I turned toward Clarissa, expecting praise. She rolled her eyes instead.
Then she cleared her throat. "We can simply contact them using the com-orb and ask them to send the pills directly here. WitchAe also has a branch in the South Region. They should arrive by tomorrow afternoon at the latest."
"Understood. I’ll contact them right away, Lady Healer," Noah said quickly, as if afraid I would pull another embarrassing stunt.
I often forgot about simple conveniences. There were no com-orbs in the forest. Everything had to be reported face-to-face.
Hopefully, Clarissa wasn’t too embarrassed by me.
To make them forget about my shameful act, I shifted the topic.
"As for the next mission, I’ll be heading to Sand Pack. Vampire corpses have been found there. Quite a few, with no clear origin."
Noah continued, "Sand Pack is the westernmost pack in the West Region and the farthest from Mount Sire’s border. This situation is highly unusual. Sand Pack doesn’t dare take action yet. They’ve stored the bodies in their basement and requested our immediate assistance."
After Noah finished, Marvin also explained his next mission. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"My mission doesn’t require my immediate presence," Marvin said. "So I’ll take charge here. I’ll recheck the surrounding forest and investigate any remains left in the cave. I’ll also handle the WitchAe pills together with Lady Rissa."
With one smooth sentence, Marvin arranged things so Clarissa would stay with him.
Absolutely not!
"Commander Dawn, I think—"
Before I could finish, Clarissa interrupted.
"I’ll go with Commander Black."
I turned to her in shock. From the corner of my eye, I saw Marvin stiffen before quickly hiding his reaction.
"The mission here is basically complete," Clarissa continued calmly. "My abilities are no longer needed here, so the best choice is for me to follow Commander Black. After that, I’ll join Commander Dawn’s next mission. Lastly, I’ll join The Steel Legion."
She sounded composed, articulate, and firm.
This was no longer the Clarissa many people misunderstood. She knew exactly how to express her thoughts now.
Marvin looked disappointed. And without realizing it, a smug expression appeared on my face.
"I was hoping to spend more time getting to know Lady Rissa," Marvin said smoothly. "We’ve only met for less than an hour, but I already feel we have great compatibility."
My smugness shattered instantly. I felt like I wanted to stuff Clarissa into a sack so no other man could be charmed by her.
The meeting ended shortly after, with Clarissa ignoring that playboy Marvin’s attempts to flirt.
Meanwhile, the deputy of Dawn Legion contacted Camden to update him on today’s discussion.
Marvin, as slick as he was, approached Clarissa as she stood from her seat.
With my sharp hearing, I caught his whisper. "Does Lady Rissa not wish to wait for news about Alpha Green?"
I stood up instantly, ready to punch Marvin. He had no right to mention the name of the man who had hurt Clarissa.
Anxious, I looked at her. I feared she might be shaken by the memory, but Clarissa remained calm.
"I have no intention at all, Commander Dawn," she replied.
She nodded politely at Marvin, walked past him, and left the meeting room.
Marvin looked stunned by her cold response.
I ignored him and quickly followed Clarissa.
We walked side by side down the corridor, just the two of us, except for Eson who followed loyally behind.
"I’m sorry," I muttered. "I should’ve kept that information from spreading."
When Clarissa had called Larry "brother," several West Region alphas were present. They realized immediately who she was, and the news spread quickly.
Even Marvin, who had just arrived, already knew. But Marvin and those outside the West Region didn’t know the many crimes the Greens had committed against Clarissa.
"If I didn’t want the news to spread," Clarissa said calmly, "I wouldn’t have acknowledged Larry in the first place."
Only then did I realize she had already considered everything.
Even so, I was still worried. If the Greens found out, they would definitely cause trouble.
