"I don't know, maybe it was an accidental stampede!"

"Take them away!" Qiao Yutong didn't bother to verify the truth, instructing the officers behind him. A group of officers came up and handcuffed the screaming individuals and took them away.

The hospital staff had never seen so many police officers, never seen so many people being arrested by the police, and never seen so many people with broken limbs.

Many of the troublemakers had fractures in their thighs and couldn't walk. They pleaded with the officers, "Officer, my leg is broken, can you take me to the hospital for a checkup before taking me away? If the treatment is delayed, what if I end up disabled?"

Upon hearing this, Qiao Yutong nodded and instructed, "One each, take them to bandage up first!"

Each officer handcuffed one troublemaker and went inside the hospital to register and queue up.

Brother Gao had a broken wrist, several knocked-out teeth, and his tongue bleeding constantly. Shoving aside the troublemakers accompanying him, he approached the registration window and said to the staff member who was about to call the police, "I came first, let me check first!"

The hospital staff replied, "I'm sorry, sir, the hospital's equipment is malfunctioning today; we cannot accept patients temporarily."

"What? Why aren't you accepting patients? The hospital is running fine, why aren't you accepting patients?"

The hospital staff pointed at the computer on the ground smashed by Brother Gao and said, "I'm very sorry, but our registration window's computer is broken, so we can't register anyone. We apologize for the inconvenience!"

"You! If you don't treat me, I'll smash..." Brother Gao was about to get aggressive when the officer handcuffed to him jabbed him with a baton on his spine, making Brother Gao stagger and leaving the latter half of his sentence unspoken. He glared back at the officer without uttering a word.

Qiao Yutong understood what was going on. The hospital simply didn't want to treat these troublemakers, so he said to the officers, "Take them all away! Interrogate them first, then see the doctor!"

The officers took this group away, and Song Xiaodong followed Qiao Yutong to the first-floor lobby of the hospital. Qiao Yutong turned around and said to Song Xiaodong, "I can help you catch people, but this case still belongs to the Haishan District Police Station and division. I can run errands for you, but I have no say in how the case is handled."

"Thanks for your hard work, Director Qiao!" Song Xiaodong nodded.

"Aren't you going to sit at the bureau for a bit?" Qiao Yutong winked, smiling at Song Xiaodong.

"No, no, I still have things to do." Song Xiaodong wrinkled his nose, waved his hand, and quickly said to Qiao Yutong.

"Alright, I'm leaving!" Qiao Yutong turned to leave, but not before winking at Song Xiaodong.

Song Xiaodong returned to the hospital entrance, sat in the car, and continued the surveillance.

Lin Su'er was having a meeting on the rooftop at this time.

"Director Lin, there have always been lessons learned from past incidents like this. Public opinion tends to side with patients, and these people are hoping to stir things up into a big fuss. The greater the public attention, the more advantageous it is for them. I think we should just settle it by paying them off!" Vice President Zhao said to Lin Su'er.

Vice President Zhao, over sixty years old, was quite experienced in such matters, having dealt with many cases and possessing extensive handling experience.

"Director Lin, why should we pay just because they made a fuss? If that's the case, anyone can come and make a scene? We are a hospital, not a charity!" Director Li, responsible for personnel, said.

"Exactly, the hospital already bears the cost of itself and there's not much money left on the books, healthcare staff's salaries and benefits haven't gone up—only these scumbags get away with it!" Director Zhang from the finance department said.

"This is also considering the impact, have you thought about how much impact this incident blowing up would have on the hospital's reputation? At that point, those damn reporters will concoct some kind of article, and when it goes viral online, it's not just money—it'll be trouble for our director too!" Vice President Zhao said.

"Patients developing bedsores from lying down is quite a common occurrence. Now, just because someone stirs up trouble, the hospital has to pay? If that's the case, everyone might as well come and cause trouble, and our hospital might as well just give all the money to them!" Director Zhang from the finance department said.

"Indeed, how much equipment did those people smash today? One electrocardiograph, one automatic blood dialysis machine, and two computers—this isn't bullying us? They've smashed our things and still want us to compensate them? Where's the sense in that! If the police hadn't arrived quickly today, even the laboratory's assets would've been damaged. At that point, our hospital might as well shut down!" Section Chief Sun, responsible for medical equipment, said.

"What's with all this talk; if payment had been made earlier, none of this would be happening now!" Vice President Zhao said.

"If you want to pay, you pay! You fork out the money! The hospital has no such funds; if there were, I would buy equipment and prepare bonuses for the healthcare staff!" God of Wealth from the finance department, Director Zhang, threw his pen on the table and said.

"Oh, so you're really something now, Zhang Yaoyang!" Vice President Zhao pointed at Director Zhang and said.

"Director, we've encountered this, so let's admit it, pay them off, and it's over. In the future, enhance the education of nursing staff to prevent occupational troublemakers from targeting us!" Vice President Zhao advised Lin Su'er.

"Director, if the hospital covers this expense, then there will be no year-end bonus for the medical staff and those equipment additions you wanted will be gone too." Director Zhang said to Lin Su'er.

"Director, let's keep it low-key; pay them ten thousand and the hospital tightens its belt, and this issue will be over. If rumors spread online, the situation will be beyond our control!" Director Liu from the inpatient department said to Lin Su'er.

"Tighten the belt? Well, start with yours! In future, no overtime pay or bonuses for your inpatient department!" Director Zhang pointed at Director Liu and said.

"Hey, Zhang Yaoyang! What's with your attitude the moment you need to spend money!" Director Liu pointed at Director Zhang and said.

"Director, you make a decision; if we keep rubbing it in and reporters catch wind of this, even paying them won't solve it!" Vice President Zhao said to Lin Su'er.

Lin Su'er sat quietly in her chair, listening to the heated discussions below, saying nothing for some time. Once she realized they were waiting for her decision, she stood up firmly and said, "If it's the hospital's responsibility, we will definitely bear it and not evade it. But if it's not our responsibility, and these few troublemakers think they can make the hospital bow down? That's impossible!"
