Revenge Begins: Reincarnated as a Hated Idol! - Chapter 114: First Take
Emma glanced at the thoughtful Aren with a dreamy gaze.
He looked mesmerizing.
Currently standing in his white jacket layered over his grey T-shirt, he resembled a divine angel descended onto the mortal world. She couldn’t stop herself from looking at him.
Meanwhile, Aren was thinking about his scene.
The upcoming scene was the debut of Aren’s character in the drama. His character, Klis Ether, a genius at everything he did, was a year senior to the other main characters.
The second lead, Luke Wartz, played by Tyler Woods, and the female lead, Elise Felix, played by Lisa Vern, both were from wealthy families.
He, on the other hand, was fatherless with a younger brother and mother to take care of.
He did odd jobs to earn money and keep his family going. And honestly, this was also the reason behind him being a genius.
To earn money, he required skills, and thus, he tried to be good at everything.
Thanks to the gods’ grace, he had talent for everything. Anything he tried to learn, he could pick up in days and become good at it.
Even his admission to this prestigious university was thanks to his own talent and hard work. Due to his high academic scores, he could receive a scholarship and attend this high-end university.
Even now, he would always secure first place in the university.
In others’ eyes, he was a genius—someone who was gifted with everything.
But no one knew the pain and effort he hid behind that indifferent face of his.
Everyone thought as if his talents and skills weren’t something he acquired with his own effort and hard work and instead were gifted to him—magically somehow.
No one even cared about the reality or truth.
After all, people assumed whatever made them feel better. If they admitted he had worked hard to acquire those skills, wouldn’t they be admitting that it was their fault for not being as good as him?
It was easier to credit his talents for his outstanding results instead of his efforts.
Even the audience watching the drama would assume the same at first, until they later witness the efforts he puts into everything.
This debut scene of his would arrive in the middle of the first episode, after everyone else in the cast had already been introduced to the audience.
This specific scene was of him arriving in the drama class, which, at the time, was being attended by the class of the leads.
His purpose in arriving was to announce a drama competition, which was being held in the main entertainment area of the Blemure City.
Since he was the student council president, he had the responsibility of announcing these kinds of things.
While he was thinking about the scene, the classroom door opened, and the director emerged alongside the assistant director.
Lian Parks regarded Aren for a while, mirroring the reaction the assistant director had revealed a while ago. Then he turned to him and whispered, "You were right. He does look more handsome in person. I don’t think I have seen anyone more handsome than him."
The assistant director nodded in agreement wholeheartedly.
Lian Parks then turned to Aren with a smile on his face. He was excited to feature this mesmerizing face in his drama. More than that, he wanted to capture the natural reactions of the actors when Aren entered the classroom.
Nothing was better than a natural reaction instead of a fake one.
"Sir Aren, are you ready?" he asked. "Have you memorized all your lines?"
Aren gave a silent nod.
"Perfect." Lian clapped. "Then let’s begin your scene. You only need to enter and make the announcement. We will continue the scene until someone makes a mistake."
Aren nodded in understanding as the director smiled at him one last time and returned to the classroom.
...
Inside the classroom, around thirty actors dressed as university students sat in rows of chairs. In front of them was an open space, where their drama teacher sat behind a teacher’s table.
He called students to the front one by one, asking them to perform random scenes.
Among those students, Lisa sat in high-end clothing—a blue striped dress, fastened tightly to her waist using a woolen belt. The dress reached just below her knees, her right leg crossing on the left.
Tyler Woods, playing the role of Luke Wartz, wore similarly branded clothing. A white striped full-sleeve shirt, blue denim trousers, a luxurious watch, and white sneakers.
There was another female lead actress, playing the role of the commoner girl, a daughter of a pork shop owner. Her name, June Webb. She was not well known in the industry and was on the same level as Tyler.
She was originally the female lead; however, after Lisa agreed to do the role, she was given the second female lead’s role instead.
Already in her character of Ava Baker, she was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, wearing a pitiful expression.
The director gave a brief explanation of the upcoming scene to all the actors as their eyes shone with anticipation. They could finally witness Aren Frost. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Meanwhile, Tyler snorted, visibly displeased by the others’ reactions. He had obviously done more dramas than Aren; still, never had he received such a reaction.
Even the actor playing the role of the teacher was visibly nervous after hearing Aren’s name.
Even though he was a veteran actor with years of experience, he still couldn’t help but feel anxious thinking about acting alongside Aren.
Aren had been praised by Dailen Shot, something even this veteran actor couldn’t help but be in awe of.
He hadn’t watched To Your Heart, but he had obviously watched those five minutes of his debut scene.
They were everywhere on social media when Aren had debuted. Anyone who opened social media at that time would have surely watched those scenes.
Moreover, after Dailen Shot’s praise, even the ones who hadn’t watched his scenes became curious and actively searched for that specific scene to see it for themselves.
Due to this, he had high expectations from Aren, while at the same time, he also felt nervous by him.
...
The cameras were already in place since they had been filming scenes in the classroom prior to this scene.
"Lights!"
The director yelled.
"Camera!"
The lens focused.
"Action!"
Clap—!
