Rise Of The Infinite Sovereign
Chapter 482: Scarlet Dragon Clan
As they pass through the entrance, the spacecraft shoots off into the distance once again, passing by multiple solar systems before arriving at the center base of the Scarlet dragon clan—the Scarlet Sea Solar system.
From afar, the Solar System looked like a reserved jewel floating in the cosmos.
The system’s centerpiece was its sun—a massive, crimson star that glowed with an intense, pulsing light, casting warm scarlet hues across the surrounding space.
Floating amidst this breathtaking display were countless patrolling warships and defensive outposts, each bearing the insignia of the Scarlet Dragon Clan.
These vessels ranged from sleek, dagger-shaped interceptors to colossal, fortress-like dreadnoughts that bristled with weapons.
The entire solar system hummed with activity, a testament to the clan’s dominance.
Once again, the difference is shown, as the clans here each took a whole solar system to house their members, even when they didn’t need that much.
During the past days, Ezra had done his research, so it didn’t take him by surprise.
As Ezra’s spacecraft approached the outer perimeter of the Scarlet Heart Solar System, alarms sounded within the cockpit.
Ezra watches as a trio of warships rapidly close in on their position.
The warships are made to be intimidating, their crimson hulls gleaming.
And each lay outfitted with rows of energy cannons and shimmering energy shields that pulsed in synchrony with the sun’s glow.
A transmission crackles through the ship’s communication system.
"Unidentified vessel, you are entering restricted space. Transmit your identification code immediately, or you will be fired upon"
Ezra leaned toward the cockpit, peering out at the warships flanking their vessel.
Their presence is domineering, a reminder of the Scarlet Dragon Clan’s iron grip on their territory.
After a long moment, the transmission resumes.
"Identification confirmed. You may proceed to the inner system"
Ezra chuckles. "Certainly a friendly bunch"
[This is standard protocol] Zydrax answers out of the blue.
"Zydrax? You’re here?"
[I wanted to see the clan territory] he answers. [By the way this is just standard protocol. The Scarlet Ring Solar System is the clan’s core territory, so security has to be tighter than anywhere else]
As the ship passed through the system’s protective barrier—a shimmering, translucent shield that rippled as they breached it—the view ahead unfolded like a grand stage.
The inner system was bustling with activity.
The ship surged onward, moving through a maze of warships and defensive outposts. Each vessel bore the emblem of the Scarlet Dragon Clan: a roaring dragon wreathed in flames.
The patrols varied in size and purpose—from sleek interceptors that darted like crimson daggers to immense dreadnoughts armed with rows of energy cannons.
Dozens of ships darted between planets and moons, their hulls painted with the Scarlet Dragon Clan’s emblem—a roaring dragon wreathed in flames.
The smaller vessels moved in tight formations, while larger carriers and transports followed precise routes.
Massive space stations hovered near key planetary orbits, their surfaces bristling with weapons, docks, and observation towers.
These stations acted as hubs of commerce, defense, and governance, their interiors likely teeming with soldiers, traders, and clan members.
As the spaceship heads to its final destination, the activity intensifies before then receding once again.
The entire system hummed with activity, the sheer scale of operations a testament to the clan’s unassailable strength.
Then as the ship lands, a marvelous city comes into sight, its architecture a blend of ancient grandeur and cutting-edge technology.
Towering spires reached for the sky, their surfaces adorned with glowing runes and shimmering metal.
From the looks of it, this area is reserved for higher beings, far removed from the bustling trade and transport hubs.
The ship’s navigation system guides them to a private landing chamber where a dozen other ships of similar build are parked.
As the spacecraft descends, the full splendor of the Scarlet Dragon Clan’s heartland unfolds.
The city spread like a shimmering tapestry beneath them, its streets glowing with soft, radiant light.
The blend of ancient and futuristic design was evident in every structure, from the towering spires that pierced the sky to the low, sprawling courtyards where tradition still held sway.
The city pulsed with energy, not just in its technological advancements but in the very atmosphere.
Hovering platforms zipped between buildings, carrying goods and people alike, while rivers of red light flowed along the streets—streams of energy coursing through the city’s veins.
Ezra leaned closer to the viewing window, taking in every detail.
"Hmm, it’s just as impressive as I imagined" he pronounces, not much shock on his face, though inwardly, even he couldn’t resist appreciating such a sight.
"Prepare to disembark, we have arrived at our destination"
As the spacecraft entered the landing strat, Thalrok’s voice rang out loud and clear.
"Welcome to the Scarlet Dragon Clan"
---
The ship touched down on a sprawling landing pad lined with shimmering red crystal saved just for them, its surface smooth and reflective.
Ezra could see his own reflection as he stepped off the spacecraft, a stark contrast to the towering soldiers who stood at attention nearby.
Each guard was clad in crimson armor etched with intricate dragon motifs.
Their helmets bore slitted visors that glowed faintly.
One of the guards stepped forward, his posture rigid. "Welcome back, guardian Thalrok, guardian Aren"
"Haha, it is good to be back" Thalrok responds, while Aren just stands by his side,
"I hope the journey was fruitful. The Elder have been awaiting your arrival"
"I understand"
With that, the guards turn around and head elsewhere.
To which Thalrok’s face scrunches up, murmuring aloud
"Tch, those old geezers should learn some patience"
With this, Thalrok gestures to the group of nascents behind him to follow as they march across a fairly lengthy distance.
"We are heading to the orientation hall, keep up"
While they are walking speedily, with Aren behind and Thalrok in front, there are no mishaps.
If anything, Ezra got to observe the surroundings, discovering that it didn’t have much activity going on as there aren’t many individuals in the nearby surroundings.
The formality of it all wasn’t surprising, but it did make him feel like a small cog in a much larger machine.
—--------
Their escort led them to a massive structure near the city’s center.
The Orientation Hall was a colossal building made of obsidian-like material, its surface shimmering faintly under the red-tinted sunlight.
The entrance was flanked by two enormous statues of dragons, their eyes set with glowing gemstones that pulsed rhythmically, as though alive.
Ezra felt a strange pull as they passed by, weird.
Inside, the hall is incredibly imposing.
The ceiling stretched impossibly high, adorned with murals that told certain sections of the clan’s story it seems—Ezra could make out a battle against an Astral Beast.
Though it was made extremely huge compared to its opponents drawn in front of it, confusing Ezra.
A central podium stood at the far end, surrounded by rows of seats arranged in a circular pattern.
Clan members and recruits filled the space, their voices a low murmur of anticipation.
"Quite the gathering" Ezra remarked, his gaze sweeping the room.
Although he said this, Ezra noted that including all five of them that Thalrok had brought with him, their numbers did not reach thirty
"Take a seat" says Thalrok, "The elders shall soon arrive. Make sure to pass the trials spectacularly,"
With that, he and Aren turn around and leave.
—---------
A hush falls over the crowd as a group enters the hall.
The elders of the Scarlet Dragon Clan were an imposing sight, each one radiating authority and power.
Their attire is a mix of ceremonial robes and combat gear, adorned with dragon motifs and shimmering gemstones that pulse with weak light.
Their presence is magnetic, drawing every eye in the room.
The eldest among them stepped forward—a man whose long silver hair and radiant piercing golden eyes.
The lines etched into his face spoke of countless battles, hard-won victories, and the passage of centuries.
When he spoke, his voice was soft yet carried effortlessly across the vast hall, silencing even the faintest murmur.
"Welcome, initiates and returning members, to the Scarlet Dragon Clan"
Ezra’s mind snagged on the phrase. Returning members? What does he mean?
The elder’s voice continued, rising with measured authority.
"You stand here today as part of a lineage that stretches back millennia—a lineage forged in fire, blood, and unyielding will. For centuries, this clan has been a beacon of strength and resilience, its name whispered with both reverence and fear across the galaxies."
The weight of his words settled over the room, palpable and unrelenting. Ezra found himself leaning forward slightly, listening intently, while also scrutinizing the one talking.
"You all must be well-rested from your journey," the elder said, a faint smile touching his lips, though his golden eyes remained sharp and unreadable. "But rest is a luxury. And here, in the heart of the Scarlet Dragon Clan, luxuries are hard-earned"
The elder pauses, letting the words hang in the air before continuing.
"You are here because you have potential. But potential alone is meaningless without discipline, strength, and loyalty. Over the coming days, you will be tested—not just physically, but mentally and spiritually. You will face trials that will strip you bare, exposing every flaw, every fear, and every doubt.
Only those who can overcome themselves will find the strength to rise. And those who falter..will fall"
The elder’s gaze swept across the room, pausing briefly on Ezra.
The elder’s voice shifted again, taking on a more commanding tone.
"Let me be clear—this is not a place for the weak or the faint-hearted. The trials you face here will not only test your abilities but your very essence. To stand among the Scarlet Dragon Clan is to embrace the weight of its legacy and to strive for greatness no matter the cost"
His eyes narrowed slightly, and his voice dropped, becoming almost a growl.
"Remember, this clan does not coddle. We do not bend. And we do not forgive betrayal. Loyalty is not just a virtue here—it is survival"
The elder straightened, his gaze sweeping across the room one final time.
"You are no longer just individuals. You are aspirants to something greater. Prove yourselves, and you will gain power, respect, and a place in this great lineage. Fail, and you will be cast aside, forgotten by history"
"Brace yourselves. The trials shall begin immediately"
