Mr. Yingwei’s voice seemed to echo in the meeting room. No one around the table said anything, too shocked by the sight before them.

After waiting for a while, Mr. Yingwei stood up with the help of the cane, looked around him, and said grimly, “Everyone, the municipal government has sent armed forces to surround us. Clearly, they want to get rid of our company, but we can’t back down. We need to let the municipal government see that we will do whatever it takes to survive!

“I suggest activating Wu Qi. If they want to kill us, they need to be prepared for the destruction of Glowing Dew District.”

The chairperson scowled. “That’s too extreme, Mr. Yingwei.”

“Do we have any other options at this point?” Mr. Yingwei snapped.

“We haven’t reached that stage yet,” the chairperson said with a shake of the head.

He then turned to the directors and said, “Everyone, Central City’s armed forces have rushed out to attack us while the Fu-Mu Entity is still propagating. This must mean that the departments behind this attack bypassed the municipal government to do this. We should contact them and have them stop this attack.”

The other directors were reeling from the loss of their naval fleet when they saw the arrival of the government’s armed forces. They couldn’t think rationally. After the chairperson reminded them of this fact, they began to slowly calm down.

After some thinking, they thought that this was indeed a good solution for this problem.

Even though the municipal government would definitely use this chance to seize more benefits, this was nothing compared to getting destroyed. As long as they could keep their company, they would have a chance to make a comeback.

If they could spend ten years preparing for this day, they could spend another ten years for another attack.

Mr. Yingwei shook his head and retorted, “Perhaps we could do it in the past, but we don’t have the time now. Everyone, the government’s armed forces are already at our door, and airships have blocked our path to escape through the air. They must also have locked down all domains and set up road blocks at all exits. They won’t let us send any messages out.”

“How could we know if we don’t try?” a director couldn’t help but ask.

Mr. Yingwei didn’t insist on his stance. Instead, he said, “Try it, then. But while we’re waiting, we can’t let the government destroy us. We need to arm everyone in the company and endure until we send a message out.”

No one was against this. The board of directors came to a unanimous decision and sent an order to Guanshang Jing. They granted him most security rights, and he was to try and bypass the domain lockdowns to contact the municipal government.

Once Guanshang Jing got his orders, he immediately started mobilizing forces.

In order to snatch a propagated offspring, they had sent a one-thousand-man-strong security force, which drained the company’s main force.

There were fewer than two hundred proper armed combatants left in the company. Even if they armed the other employees, they wouldn’t be able to hit the necessary numbers. This meant they were unable to use or defend most of the forts and firing positions. They could only defend certain crucial positions.

While he was making arrangements, the government’s forces began moving. The airships flew over the perimeter of the company. The airlock hatches underneath opened, and bombs dropped down.

While Ferris Wheel had machine guns installed on the roofs, they couldn’t threaten airships which were too high up. They could only watch them helplessly.

As explosions rang, some of the forts, firing positions, walls, and electrified nets were destroyed.

The barrage lasted for more than half an hour. When the airships left, only smoke remained.

Xu Chan watched from the roof and gave his second order.

After a moment, swarms of bioweapons began flying and jumping from their base to Ferris Wheel.

In order to get the Fu-Mu Entity’s propagation under control, the Department of Administrative Affairs had bought combat praying mantises from Compound Eyes, which were very practical.

But these bioweapons weren’t just expensive themselves. The calorie and nutrient-dense injections made specially for them were also costly. That was why most of the bioweapons Xu Chan sent out were bioweapons the Great Shun Republic had developed on their own.

Gunshots immediately rang from Ferris Wheel, both from open and hidden firing positions. The bioweapons were small, fast, and destructive, so they could infiltrate every nook and cranny. There was also an endless number of them. Once they got into the building, the regular fighters would be powerless against them.

This was especially the case for the combat praying mantises. They were incredibly fast and destructive. No one aside from martial artists could fend them off.

Ferris Wheel also released their remaining bioweapons. The bioweapons from both sides clashed and fought in the air.

While an intense fight erupted between them, the sea behind Ferris Wheel bubbled. Many lizard-fish hybrids rose up. They had four legs but also tail fins.

They climbed up the slanted dam wall to bypass the area covered with electrified nets and firing positions, thus ignoring the difficult terrain and obstacles. They crawled inside through every crack and entrance they encountered.

These were the amphibious bioweapons developed by Azure Dragon. In combat, they could crawl up ships to attack combatants inside them. The joint fleet had brought them for the fight, but since Ferris Wheel’s naval fleet had been defeated too quickly, they didn’t use them. Now, they finally had a chance to test whether they were good weapons.

With the emergence of bioweapons and implant-enhanced combatants, battles were no longer the same. Unless they escalated to a certain scale, armies of the old era would be powerless against these units.

But martial artists still played a decisive role. Even if the imperial army kept the traditional military model, they could win as long as they had enough martial artists.

Xu Chan was watching the battle from the roof. Despite being a martial artist, he didn’t charge to the frontlines immediately after the battle started. Instead, he employed standard tactical steps.

First, it was an airship bombardment to get rid of firing positions. Second, it was an attack by bioweapons. If they suffered a setback, they would launch another bombardment to get rid of more firing positions before sending out bioweapons again. In short, he was using his advantage in strength to push forward.

If martial artists showed up, they had martial artist snipers on their side. Such people were rare in other places, but the World Ring Defense System could mobilize a lot of them. With such a threat around, the martial artists in Ferris Wheel could not come out.

The offensive lasted for less than an hour before Ferris Wheel’s external defenses collapsed. A swarm of bioweapons infiltrated the company building.

Xu Chan had a bioequipment in front of him that displayed a fan-shaped light. It showed the situation inside Ferris Wheel.

Aside from fighting, the bioweapons also sent information back to him. This way, he and his tactical advisors could see the situation inside at all times and adjust their strategy based on it.

They didn’t have to worry about losing the bioweapons either. Once Ferris Wheel was defeated, the Great Shun Republic and other state-owned enterprises would take over the resources from the island nations and cover their expenses.

Most of the directors moved to a submarine at the bottom of the building and watched the videos sent back to their Realm Passes.

If things went downhill, they would leave the place first.

But they still had a lot of worries, because Azure Dragon was on guard against them, so they had to have set up underwater bioweapons near the bank. Even if Azure Dragon couldn’t sink their submarine, they might follow them and engage them in battle. They wouldn’t be able to run far like that.

However, they weren’t at a dead end yet. They had sent an underwater squad to leave the domain lockdown area by swimming along the coastline. This squad was tasked with finding a way to enter the city and contact the municipal government. Then, they might be able to stop this attack.

Back in the building, Guanshang Jing led a group of armed combatants against the bioweapons that kept rushing into the building.

Luckily for him, he had the last batch of guards with him. The company had spent a large amount of money to train them. They had the most advanced implants, along with thick armor. Each of them was skilled with guns and melee weapons, so they could fight against the endless swarm of bioweapons.

However, soon after the defense started, things changed. The bioweapons that came in later carried explosives, and the moment they got close, they exploded, which led to many of the elite guards getting injured and killed.

Guanshang Jing was forced to retreat to the basement. Up to this point, he hadn’t seen a single enemy combatant. All they faced were attacks from bioweapons. Clearly, the enemy commander was really composed.

While such a strategy put a huge dent in resources and was costly, it led to few casualties. This strategy also didn’t give the enemy a chance to fight back.

Feeling that he wouldn’t be able to hold the line any longer, Guanshang Jing called a security guard captain over and had him take over command while he went to an empty training hall. Then, he bowed to a large figure who was sitting with his back turned toward him.

“Mr. Tiecheng, things have become really dire. You’re the only one we can ask for help now. Please fulfill your promise!”

Even though he was sitting, the man was clearly more than two meters tall. He was broad and heavy, as if he was a mountain. At that moment, he was slurping at a tube of nutritional paste. After hearing what Guanshang Jing said, he paused in his movements.

Just then, they heard a sound. An offensive line seemed to have been dispersed in the company building. All the bioweapons fighting in the building froze, as if they had been hit by a hammer. A moment later, they collapsed.

That wasn’t all. Even the bioweapons dozens of meters away from the building were affected. Those that got close either fell from the sky or the wall. In an instant, the area around the company became deserted.
