Sage of Humanity
Chapter 1923 - 1921: What a Coincidence, We Meet Again
At the site of the severed arm, flesh and blood squirm, and new buds grow, undeniably showcasing the powerful physique's self-repair, further proving that the bizarre power of the Celestial God follower has been completely neutralized.
Sun Nianyue suddenly turned her head to look at Lu Ye, a face full of disbelief. She had no idea what her junior brother had done to have such an immediate effect!
The cultivator with the severed arm opened his eyes and looked at Lu Ye in admiration: "Fellow Daoist, your methods are extraordinary. How should I address you?"
He had been battling in this domain for years, repeatedly injured by the Celestial God follower, but never had a healing cultivator helped him resolve the issue so quickly.
Sun Nianyue regained her composure, suppressed her inner shock, and said proudly: "This is my junior brother."
The cultivator with the severed arm exclaimed: "Is he the Miraculous Healer Lu Ye?"
Lu Ye's mouth twitched... So his identity has such a resounding title? He was completely unaware!
But speaking of which, Miraculous Healer sounds much more pleasant than Lu Ye the Sect Destroyer.
"Indeed, my junior brother just returned from wandering," Sun Nianyue explained.
The cultivator with the severed arm presumably wanted to clasp his fists, but finding himself missing an arm, he could only nod to Lu Ye: "I've long heard of your great name, and indeed, after meeting you today, you live up to it."
"Overpraised, overpraised." Lu Ye said, a bit embarrassed.
Sun Nianyue stepped forward to begin healing the severed-arm cultivator, turning to Lu Ye: "Junior brother, since you have a means to quickly resolve the power of the Celestial God follower, why don't you specialize in handling this matter?"
She originally wanted to test whether her junior brother's medical skills had improved after his years of disappearance, but now it seems unnecessary. His techniques are so divine that she's far inferior, and even their master can't match up.
Her junior brother... is truly a prodigy, naturally suited for saving lives!
Sun Nianyue's suggestion undoubtedly aligned with Lu Ye's intentions. He knows he can't actually heal people, lacking any healing techniques, but resolving the bizarre power of the Celestial God follower is too easy for him, so he nodded immediately: "Alright!"
In Renyuan Valley, about eighty percent of injured cultivators hosted remnants of the Celestial God follower's bizarre power within them, which was the most challenging problem healing cultivators faced in treating them. Before Lu Ye's appearance, every healing cultivator had to spend tremendous effort and time on this issue, with very little actual effort going towards healing the injuries.
Since all were upper three realms cultivators, as long as the Celestial God follower's bizarre power was resolved, combined with healing methods and supplemented with one's recovery ability and elixir pills, recovery would not be difficult at all.
Walking and stopping in Renyuan Valley, Lu Ye utilized the Talent Tree's power to help one cultivator after another neutralize the Celestial God follower's bizarre power.
This task was beneficial to him. Although there were no guided hints or clues, Lu Ye sensed that it was also a trial mission for him, accomplishing it better would undoubtedly help him gain more Asura Seals.
Furthermore, no matter what his mission was this time, winning this battle against the Celestial God follower was necessary; helping allies recover quickly was undoubtedly a form of assistance.
Not long after, the title of Miraculous Healer spread far and wide.
With Lu Ye's assistance, the number of injured accumulated in Renyuan Valley swiftly decreased, and those whose wounds were healed quickly left the domain and rejoined the battle.
Meanwhile, outside the Zhongyou World, a massive short-stay palace stood, with cultivators constantly entering and exiting.
This place was the primary stronghold of the Zhongyou World's defensive line against external threats.
The entire Star System had encountered an invasion of outside enemies, with the largest battlefield deep in the stellar space, but each domain in the star system had its own sub-battlefield outside.
Stationed in this palace was a Sun Blaze cultivator called Tian Hong in Zhongyou World. He was the only Sun Blaze left in the Zhongyou World, as others like the Sacred Master from Yunluo Sacred Land had gone out to battle with the World Lord.
At this very moment, he was investigating many intelligence reports, frowning from time to time.
After years of resistance, the situation was still unclear. Local losses were considerable, but the enemy showed no sign of retreat—partly because the Celestial God follower was so difficult to kill; they haven't found a way to deliver a fatal blow yet.
Especially the opposing Sun Blaze—strength-wise, he's stronger than the opponent and has already killed him three times, but the opponent always rapidly recovers. The Celestial God follower's bizarre Undying Body prevents him from finishing the task.
Suddenly, his eyes brightened upon glimpsing a piece of information that caught his attention.
After a brief contemplation, he spoke: "Send word to have the Left-Front General return to see me."
"Yes!" A nearby cultivator promptly responded, sending out the message.
Waiting for about half an hour, a hulking figure strode in from outside, enveloped in a shocking killing aura, covered in blood, clearly having been through a battle recently.
This was none other than the Left-Front General, the strongest under Tian Hong.
The Left-Front General cupped his fists: "Greetings, Master Tian Hong!"
Tian Hong gave a slight nod: "There's an assignment I need you to undertake."
The Left-Front General spoke in a deep voice: "I'll receive your orders, Master!" His brows reflecting eagerness to try, this mysterious trial was full of uncertainties. Now finally given a clear task, he secretly decided that even if Tian Hong ordered him to assassinate the Sun Blaze Celestial God follower, he would still try it.
"Return to our domain, go to Yunluo Sacred Land, and protect the current Saint of Yunluo Sacred Land. He can't suffer any harm!" Tian Hong ordered.
The Left-Front General momentarily thought he'd misheard, asking in disbelief: "Master, you want me to protect the Saint of Yunluo Sacred Land?"
I'm your strongest Moon Jade! You're not sending me to charge into battle against the enemy but instead sending me to protect someone—what's going on?
"Indeed!" Tian Hong replied, "Time is of the essence, let's set off now."
Left-Front General moved his lips, but ultimately had nothing to say. This was a clear mission he had received and was difficult to refuse. Moreover, judging by Tian Hong's tone, he likely couldn't refuse even if he wanted to.
"Your killing intent is too heavy. When you arrive at Yunluo Sacred Land, keep it in check. It gathers ninety percent of the healing cultivators in this domain, and they are mostly gentle folks with cultivation but who don't engage much in combat. Don't scare them. Once you return, go find Sun Nianyue and follow her arrangements." Tian Hong advised with concern.
"Got it!" Left-Front General answered, turned, and left the grand hall of the short-stay palace, rubbing his bald head, flying towards the Zhongyou World with a face full of reluctance.
He was in the midst of a successful run killing enemies when he was suddenly summoned back to be a bodyguard, making him quite displeased.
Moments later, Left-Front General entered Zhongyou World and proceeded to Yunluo Sacred Land. After some inquiries, he found Sun Nianyue in Renyuan Valley, busy saving lives.
Face to face, witnessing his enormous figure, his entire demeanor reeking of menace, Sun Nianyue suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of security.
She had originally planned to assign another Moon Jade as her junior brother's guardian, but after witnessing her junior brother's miraculous techniques, she realized her arrangement was inappropriate and immediately relayed a message to Tian Hong outside the domain to find a more suitable guardian.
This person before her was most likely arranged by Master Uncle Tian Hong. After a brief exchange, Left-Front General flew off in the direction of the Star Picking Tower.
At the Star Picking Tower, Lu Ye had already returned.
He had finished tending to the injured cultivators over at Renyuan Valley and was then sent back by Senior Sister Sun Nianyue to rest and recuperate. In Sun Nianyue's eyes, although her junior brother's method of dispelling the bizarre power of the Celestial God followers was marvelous, it must have been an enormous drain, having treated so many cultivators in such a short time, thus requiring rest.
This was exactly to Lu Ye's liking, as he wasn't quite sure how he would help with the healing if Sun Nianyue truly required his assistance in that regard.
From here on, all he needed to do was visit Renyuan Valley daily and assist the injured cultivators in dealing with the Celestial God followers' powers; the rest was to explore how to find a surefire way to kill a Celestial God follower.
As such, he first needed to capture a Celestial God follower for research!
He had killed two Celestial God followers before and had carefully investigated their state post-mortem, but he hadn't conducted in-depth research.
Such research had already been done extensively in Zhongyou World. Just before leaving Renyuan Valley, he mentioned this to Sun Nianyue, and she told him to return and wait, promising to send over the previously collected research information.
He didn't have to wait long before a familiar voice called out, "Senior Brother!"
"Come in." Lu Ye recognized it as Aqiduo's voice.
Aqiduo pushed the door open and handed Lu Ye several jade slips. "These are the things Senior Sister Sun asked me to give to you."
Lu Ye accepted them, nodding, "Thank you for your effort."
Aqiduo smiled sweetly, "It was no trouble. Well then, Senior Brother, I'm off now."
"Off you go."
After Aqiduo left, just as Lu Ye was about to investigate the information in the jade slips, he suddenly sensed a powerful aura approaching rapidly.
Lu Ye's first instinct was that it was an ambush, but after feeling the visitor's aura, his eyebrows furrowed suddenly because this aura felt... strangely familiar.
A loud booming sound thundered from the plaza outside, followed by a familiar loud voice, "Where is the Yunluo Saint?"
Being assigned back as a bodyguard left him quite unwilling, but since he couldn't refuse, he thought the best plan was to show his ferocity, hoping the Yunluo Saint would be intimidated and voluntarily request a change of guard.
Just a gentle healing cultivator, surely a little scare would send him fleeing!
Thinking along those lines, his expression became even more ferocious, baring his teeth as if ready to bite someone.
Then he saw a head poke out from the large door in front.
His expression instantly turned more savage, like a fierce ghost emerging into the world.
As their eyes met... the fierce face suddenly turned into one of disbelief, with his eye twitching involuntarily, forcing him to recall various events in the combat field.
For a moment, he thought it was an illusion, rubbed his eyes to see he hadn't seen wrong.
"Oh?"
"Ah?"
Both issued sounds of surprise, clearly not expecting to encounter each other here, and under such circumstances.
Lu Ye walked out of the Star Picking Tower, smiling warmly at Left-Front General, "What a coincidence, we meet again."
Left-Front General frowned deeply, now fully recognizing Lu Ye's identity. He suddenly remembered Tian Hong's evaluation before he left.
Is this really supposed to be the gentle healing cultivator I need to protect?
Did something go wrong somewhere?
