Serene and The Six Realms
Chapter 179
Serene’s POV
I turned around to see who the voice belonged to. It was Lavaria Sensei’s younger brother; Lancile.
He had a warm smile just like his elder brother but had boyish look about himself. Taller and broader than Lavaria Sensei but his black hair was shorter and combed to the back. A prominent jawline and muscular arms revealed he was a werewolf inside and out.
He extended his hand and softly requested again: "Please, just one dance. It’s my brother’s wedding."
I finally nodded and accepted his hand as he led me to the dance floor. My heart thudded as I stole a glance towards Zeph, who in return had pursed his lips into a thin line.
Placing his hand on the hollow of my back, he took my right hand in his left and I placed my left on his shoulder as began to sway with the music.
"So, why was a princess standing without a dance partner." He implored, keeping a warm smile on his face so as not to make me uncomfortable.
"Well, umm. It’s complicated." I replied with a sigh keeping eye contact with him and trying to not look at Zeph. I knew he would be extremely furious.
"I understand, love is complicated. I know that you have a romantic partner." He continued with the conversation as he elegantly swayed me on the dance floor and I could sense people watching us now.
"I do, but we fought and now we are not talking." My hands were sweating a bit due to nervousness, he was an amazing dancer.
"Then I would suggest you must talk to him and figure out your differences. Communication is important when it comes down to relationships." He twirled me around and caught me in his arms. My dress whirled all around me.
"Woah!" Someone shouted from the crowd.
"I will, thank you," I replied as I straightened up in his muscular arms.
"You are welcome," he positioned me again so we could sway as the music changed.
"What about you? You haven’t found your mate yet." I inquired while matching his steps.
"I did but she rejected me, I was beneath her in status. I was merely an elite guard in her father’s army." He replied with a wounded smile and my heart sank. The smile I had been wearing today instantly vanished.
"I am so sorry, I shouldn’t have pried." Sadness crept up in my eyes.
"No, please. It was years ago. I am over it now. We brothers were unlucky when it came down to mates but I am glad brother found someone and I am sure I will too." His voice still held a tinge of sadness that crossed his eyes too.
"I will pray that you do."
"I have to admit, I was very curious when Lavaria told me about you and how you had chosen a folkel of your own accord. I was subtly surprised because I didn’t have a healthy experience when it came down to princesses. And you have outdone yourself. I am very honoured to meet you." His eyes twinkled showing his truth. I blushed a bit at his kind words and asked:
"Thank you. Was your mate Alpha Anmadius’s daughter?"
My words had him stiffen for a second but he relaxed again and said with a small sigh: "Yes."
"Well if it’s any consolation, Alpha Anmadius hates me and wants me dead, he has banned me from ever visiting your realm," I added with a click of my tongue and this had him laughing.
"Anmadius is an idiot. I wish you would visit and I would be able to show you around. Our realm is breathtakingly beautiful."
"I am sure it is and maybe one day when the situation is better and I am exonerated from the unknowingly committed crimes." I smiled at him and he took a bow finally letting my hand go as the music stopped.
"I will wait for that day and go talk to your boy, he will be writhing in jealousy now, seeing you dance with me."
He pursed his lips, trying to hide a smile and I nodded at him before taking a look at Zeph, who was watching me like a wounded hawk. His intense gaze was scrutinizing my actions. My heart thudded so loudly but I averted my gaze.
Thanking Lancile for the dance, I walked away from the dance floor and Ayrden caught me before chanting excitedly:
"Those were some amazing dance moves girl. Lavaria Sensei’s brother is really turning eyes. I am sure Zeph will see what he missed."
"I hope he does," I replied calmly. I was so tired of fighting him.
It was dinner time after dancing, so we led the guests to the dining area and dinner began. A special table had been arranged for the married couple and their families. I stayed close to make sure they had everything they needed and that all courses were served.
"I never thought I would ever be served by a princess." Lavaria Sensei’s father chuckled, seeing me pass instructions. This made everyone laugh.
"It’s the wedding of my two Senseis and that title upholds more importance for me than any other title," I answered with a smile.
"We shouldn’t be biased but Serene is our favorite student. Thank you dear for making our wedding so memorable." Lavaria Sensei told his family with a puffy chest and beaming smile.
"Talk about yourself, mine is Zeph. I am sure Serene would agree." Shumal Sensei chimed in while nudging her husband and I couldn’t help but smile at her words as she winked at me.
"I do," it always filled me with happiness knowing how Shumal Sensei cared about Zeph.
"Serene go bring Zeph and join us for dinner. We want to eat with our favorite students." Shumal Sensei instructed and this made my heart clutch. She didn’t know we fought. Lancile sensed my apprehensions for he had stopped smiling and was watching me intently.
"We are hosts, we will eat later Sensei. I have to tend to the guests." I tried to refuse politely.
"Oh! Come on now. I will call him myself." She craned her neck to look for Zeph and spotting him she whistled and called out:
"Hey! Zeph. Come over here." And I froze in my spot, I didn’t want to face his cold attitude in front of others. I was sure he would be fuming with rage at my dance and the person I had danced with was sitting right at this table.
He strode over and stood at some distance from me and greeted everyone in a monotonous voice.
"Sensei, everyone."
"That’s Zeph, Serene’s boyfriend." Shumal Sensei introduced him to everyone at the table and they all greeted him while Lancile passed a knowing look to me, I wanted the ground to open and engulf me.
"Zeph grab a chair for yourself and Serene. We want you to join us for dinner." Shumal Sensei instructed and Zeph gave me a questioning stare. His face was expressionless.
"Go now, why are you looking at Serene?" Lavaria Sensei teased him and he moved to grab two chairs. Shumal Sensei pointed to the spot beside her and he placed the chair there and we settled down.
I ordered extra plates for us, my heart was thudding loudly at the thought of having a confrontation with him.
"Zeph, that was a beautiful song you sang for us today. Thank you, I loved it. Did you two write it together?" Shumal Sensei praised and asked in a sing-song voice.
"I am honoured that you liked it, yes Serene helped me with it," Zeph replied while giving me a side glance, while I concentrated on eating a piece of lamb thigh.
"No wonder it had so many feelings in it." She chuckled and we offered her small smiles. I was glad Zeph didn’t give any sarcastic remarks.
Dinner progressed and their families were very interested in listening to our battle stories. I could see their awe-filled eyes, every time I mentioned my powers.
"You have been bestowed with such unique power Princess Serene. I would very much like to see them in action." Lancile stated with a smile. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"Thank you, I will try to show you someday."
"You have manifested a total of three powers?" Lavaria Sensei’s father inquired.
"Yes,"
"Very impressive for someone so young to manifest three strong powers. We feel proud of you for being our son’s student." He beamed at me with kind eyes.
"Thank you, I am very much obliged. It’s all because of the toils of my Senseis that I have been able to reach this point." My eyes flickered to the newlyweds they were beaming at me and I couldn’t help but smile with gratitude.
I picked up my glass to take a sip of the margarita when Shumal Sensei spoke:
"You know I am now anxiously waiting for the day when Serene and Zeph will get married. Lavaria and I are going to be over the moon that day." Her words caught me by surprise and I choked on my drink so bad.
