The cool night air bit at the fresh, self-inflicted wounds on Shen Yu’s shoulder, but the sting was a distant hum compared to the cold fire of the hunt. He moved with the silent, predatory grace of a phantom, his blood-stained white robes fluttering like a tattered shroud as he left the smoke and the lingering stench of the Peng Estate behind.

Behind him, Xu Yi kept pace, her breathing rhythmic and silent. She watched his back, straight, lethal, and radiating a pressure that made the surrounding forest go still.

Shen Yu reached into his robes and crushed the silver talisman in his palm. A pulse of liquid Qi surged through the air, and the parchment began to burn from the top with a slow, ghostly blue flame as it established a spiritual bridge to its twin.

"So, how did it go, honey?"

Meng Yan’s voice drifted from the burning paper, sultry and thick with an intimate playfulness that felt out of place in the dark woods.

Xu Yi’s ears perked up at the tone, her eyes widening slightly. A realization dawned on her, sharp and cynical.

’So that’s how the alliance was truly forged,’ she thought, a faint, knowing smirk touching her lips.

’Well, who in the heavens can actually resist the Lord when he decides to take what he wants?’

Shen Yu’s expression didn’t flicker at the flirtation; his mind was already miles ahead, calculating the geometry of the kill. "It went perfectly. The city is ours, and the ’Savior’ is adored. Now, tell me... where is our rat?"

Meng Yan’s voice shifted, the playfulness replaced by the clinical coldness of a hunter. "He’s in a fog-shrouded ravine a few miles south of the city. There’s a hidden cave mouth, barely visible behind the overgrowth. He’s inside, frantic and broken."

He could hear the faint sound of her chuckling on the other end.

"He’s spent the last hour trying to activate a teleportation array," she continued, her voice dripping with mockery. "The poor fool doesn’t realize I used a Qi-destabilizing array the moment I arrived. He’s cornered in the dark, clutching a chest of gold as if the weight of it could buy back his life. He’s all yours, Yu’er."

"Good," Shen Yu murmured, the blue flame of the talisman reflecting in his golden eyes, making them look like twin pits of hellfire. "Keep your eyes on the entrance. I would be there in a few minutes."

He increased his speed, a dark, demonic blur through the trees. The "Golden Paragon" was gone, replaced by a master of shadows who was about to show Peng Kai that there were things in this world far more terrifying than death.

At the mouth of the ravine, Meng Yan emerged from the shadows of a jagged rock. As Shen Yu and Xu Yi arrived, she stepped into the moonlight, her gaze lingering on Shen Yu with a possessive heat. Shen Yu didn’t hesitate; he closed the distance, his hand finding the curve of her hip with a firm, proprietary grip as he pulled her into a deep, lingering kiss.

"Is the rat still in his hole?" he asked, his voice low and vibrating against her lips.

"Ahhh... yes," she breathed, her eyes fluttering. "He’s inside, shivering in the dark."

Xu Yi watched the exchange, her breath hitching. The raw, casual dominance Shen Yu displayed, commanding the Matriarch of a Great Clan as if she were a mere concubine, sent a jolt of heat through her own body.

Meng Yan’s eyes drifted to the flushed Xu Yi. "So, Yu’er... is she our new sister?"

Shen Yu’s lips curled into a wicked smirk. "She is."

Meng Yan smiled, approaching the fidgeting Xu Yi. Sensing the younger woman’s intimidation, the Matriarch pulled her into a warm, fragrant embrace.

"There is no need for fear, Sister Yi. In this family, status is a mask for the world. Between us, there is only one goal: how to best please our husband."

Xu Yi felt a wave of relief, her own smile blooming. "Thank you, Sister Yan."

Shen Yu pulled both women into his arms, his hands roaming freely over their curves as he drew them close. "We will have a proper family gathering after this. You can get to know each other intimately as you moan beneath me. But for now, we have work to do."

Xu Yi straightened, her eyes bright. "What is the plan, my Lord? Shall we end him?"

"I was going to kill him," Shen Yu mused, his gaze turning toward the cave. "But with our expansion into Crimson Iron City, a Golden Core slave is far too valuable to waste. Besides... imagine the entertainment of forcing him to watch as I claim his wife. It would be a waste to let him die so soon."

Shen Yu loosened his grip, his hands sliding slowly from their curves as he stepped back. The playful warmth vanished from his face, replaced by a terrifying, hollow stillness.

"Well," he murmured, his voice dropping into a chilling register. "It’s time for another act."

His eyes drifted toward the cave, the golden light in them replaced by a dark, fathomless void. ’Or rather,’ he thought, a jagged, demonic pride swelling in his chest, ’it’s time to stop acting like a saint and start acting like the monster I’ve always been.’

He began with a technique from his previous life: Blood Burning Art: Changing Bones.

A sickening, wet crunch echoed through the ravine. His blood began to boil, steam rising from his pores as his skeletal structure was forcibly dismantled and rebuilt. His frame shrank by five inches, his lean physique exploding into a broad, hulking mass of bulging muscle. The grotesque sound of grinding bone and tearing sinew filled the air, but Shen Yu didn’t so much as flinch.

Then, he activated the Crimson Fox Veil.

His facial features melted and reformed. His white hair turned to a coarse, midnight black, and his skin darkened to a rugged tan. A jagged scar appeared, slicing from his left brow down to his cheek, giving him a brutal, war-torn visage. His eyes, once the color of divine gold, bled into a predatory, hellish red.

He adjusted his vocal cords, testing a voice that was now a rough, gravelly growl. Finally, he shifted his Qi signature, masking the refined Tang techniques with a chaotic, violent energy that felt like a localized storm of bloodlust.

Standing before them was no longer the Golden Paragon. He was a nameless monster from the abyss, ready to drag Peng Kai into the dark.
