Chapter 213: Chapter 213

After leaving Isaac’s room, Robert and Jason led Suzy and the others back to the lounge once more.

"Rest here for a while. I’ll go handle the cement issue now," Robert instructed.

"Sorry for the trouble," Suzy replied.

Robert looked at her, the coldness in his sharp features softening slightly. "It’s no trouble. It’s the least I should do."

After speaking, he did not linger long before turning and leaving the room. He still had to arrange the thousand bags of cement Suzy needed.

Inside the lounge, Suzy found a seat for herself, feeling unusually relaxed.

The twists and turns of the past few hours had been unbelievable. She never expected the problem weighing on her mind to be resolved so smoothly.

This trip had not only secured the materials needed to upgrade her house, but had also connected her to Isaac himself.

Perfect. With those thousand bags of cement, she no longer needed to search for additional materials. She could upgrade the house immediately.

As for how she planned to bring all of it back... She still needed to come up with a believable excuse.

Just as Suzy was thinking about what reason to use, Jason scooted closer to her side.

Unlike Robert, Jason had stayed behind in the lounge. Right now, he had countless things he wanted to say to Suzy and even more questions he wanted to ask.

Not only because he wanted to thank her for saving his uncle, but because he was deeply curious. Curious about her medicine.

The effects were so immediate that even calling it divine medicine felt like an understatement.

"Suzy, thank you so much for what you did for my uncle. If you hadn’t helped, I probably would’ve been doomed too."

His throat tightened as he spoke. Suzy had already saved him once. Now, with his uncle added to the equation, he owed her two enormous debts.

"Alright, alright, enough with the thanks." Suzy had heard enough gratitude for one day. She smiled lightly. "Maybe someday I’ll need your help too."

Jason immediately straightened up, expression solemn. "Then I’ll do everything I can, no question!"

After saying that, he looked at Suzy with burning eyes.

Suzy raised a brow. "What is it?"

"Well..." Jason scratched his head awkwardly. "Suzy, I have a somewhat shameless request. Do you still have more of that medicine? I’d like to trade something for it."

He did not bother hiding his intentions and went straight to the point. He wanted Suzy’s medicine. How could anyone not want something that miraculous? Even a tiny amount would be enough. At a critical moment, that little bit of medicine might save his life.

Suzy looked at him and teased, "You really don’t beat around the bush at all, huh? Aren’t you afraid I’ll refuse?"

Jason grinned sheepishly. "If you refuse, then you refuse. I just figured I should at least ask. You never know unless you try."

Suzy considered it for a moment before nodding.

"I can give you some, but only a little."

Jason’s eyes instantly lit up. "A little is totally fine!"

Jason was not a bad person. Considering how wholeheartedly he had helped her, Suzy felt giving him a small reward was not unreasonable.

After all, if not for Jason, they never would have encountered Isaac’s group.

And if they had not crossed paths by sheer coincidence, she never would have ended up helping Isaac and solving the cement issue so smoothly.

In a way, Jason had contributed quite a lot himself.

The more Suzy thought about it, the luckier this entire trip seemed. Maybe this was karma for helping Jason in the first place.

Meanwhile, Jason was so excited after hearing Suzy was willing to share some of her "divine medicine" that he could barely sit still.

He glanced around the lounge and realized there was no food or water left.

Immediately, he jumped to his feet. "Suzy, wait here for a bit. I’ll go find you all something to eat."

Before Suzy could even respond, Jason had already rushed out of the room.

Now, only Suzy, Leonard, and Thomas remained in the room. With no outsiders present, Leonard immediately scooted closer to Suzy.

"Suzy, what the hell was that just now? Since when did you have something that incredible? And what’s this nonsense about a ’family medicine’?"

Leonard had witnessed the entire ordeal from beginning to end. Watching the situation unfold had felt like riding a roller coaster, his emotions rising and crashing nonstop.

Even he had been stunned by the effects of Suzy’s so called "family medicine."

But while her explanation might fool other people, it definitely would not fool him.

Whether it was the Kale family or the Ashford family, he had never once heard of either side producing some legendary medical lineage.

As for "ancestral medicine," that was even more absurd.

Suzy leaned toward Leonard and lowered her voice. "I’ll explain everything after we get back."

Leonard nodded, though he still could not help asking, "Does that stuff really work? Like...seriously work?"

"Of course." Suzy shot him a look. "Uncle, don’t tell me you don’t trust me?"

Leonard laughed awkwardly. Even after witnessing everything with his own eyes, he still found it difficult to believe. It was simply too unbelievable.

"Alright, alright." Suzy’s tone turned more serious. "You really don’t need to worry about this. I know what I’m doing." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Hearing her say that, Leonard stopped pressing the matter, though his curiosity was still driving him insane.

Just as he was about to continue questioning her, the door opened.

Jason had returned. He carried several bottles of mineral water and an assortment of snacks, setting them down on the table.

"Suzy, have something to eat. My cousin asked me to bring these over."

Then he quickly updated them on the cement situation.

"My cousin already sent people to handle the cement issue...uh, Suzy, you guys really can transport all that stuff, right?"

Jason genuinely could not stop worrying about it. That was an enormous amount of cement. And Suzy’s group only had a single speedboat. If they had to move everything back and forth manually, how many trips would it take? Wouldn’t they die from exhaustion?

"You don’t need to worry about that." Suzy smoothly skipped over the topic.

Jason sat down across from her. "Oh, right, would you guys like to come to my uncle’s base together?"

Only recently had Jason learned that his uncle had already established a survivor base. Quite a few people had already been taken in, and they were still expanding it.

That was the entire reason they had occupied the cement factory and gathered supplies nearby.

Everything was preparation for expanding the base.

As for Jason himself, he fully intended to return there with his uncle. But in his opinion, if Suzy joined too, that would be even better.

"A base..." Suzy murmured softly. "What’s your uncle’s base called?"

"Ugh, let me think..." Jason thought for a moment. "I think it’s just called Center City Base."

Although it was called Center City Base, its actual location was nowhere near the city center. It was practically in the outskirts, somewhere between A City and B City.

But Suzy confirmed something important. Center City Base was the predecessor of White Tiger Base.

By the time it officially became White Tiger Base, that would already be far into the future. In the dream, Suzy herself had never survived long enough to witness that era.

Still, the extra memories now inside her mind told her one thing clearly.

Later on, Wendy would eventually go to White Tiger Base. And because she had once saved Isaac, her treatment there had been exceptional.
