Simulation Game: Crisis Management
Chapter 525 - 240: The Plateau Region
"These people are the young elite SWAT teams from other cities in Wu Province."
Noticing Gu Ji’s puzzlement, Zhao Hua, who hadn’t spoken before, suddenly explained, "The scale of this Jinbang training camp is far larger than the Xiangzhou exchange meeting, and it operates on a voluntary sign-up and voluntary exit basis."
"Xiangzhou exchange meeting? Doesn’t that mean Gu Ji might see that Qi Dong girl again?"
"What Qi Dong girl?"
Listening to Zhou Yang’s teasing, Gao Bo was the first to stand up and ask.
Before Zhou Yang could respond, he reacted himself, "Oh, I know, you’re talking about that tall, beautiful, fair-skinned girl with the sexy lips who looks like Xin Zhilei, right, and I think her name was..."
"Li Yanan!"
"Yes, yes, Gu Ji, do you still remember her!"
Listening to the back-and-forth between Gao Bo and Zhou Yang, Gu Ji suddenly recalled the figure who borrowed tactical notes from him.
"Wow, talk about fate, Gu Ji, you’re going to have good luck on this Jinbang trip!"
Gao Bo gave him a side glance with a sly expression, nudging him with his elbow, "Don’t worry, I definitely won’t tell Chen Zhiyu this time!"
"Damn it, shut your mouth!"
For some reason, whenever Chen Zhiyu was mentioned, Gu Ji felt an inexplicable shift in his mindset.
Arriving at the airport, they collected their tickets and passed through security together.
There is a direct flight from Ningzhou to Bian Ga, taking about six hours, departing at 9:30 a.m. and landing by nearly four in the afternoon.
At the end of December, Jinbang officially enters the winter season. The vast expanse of white snowfields seems endless, and the towering snowy mountains in the distance appear cold and majestic, yet under the sunlight, they reflect a faint golden hue.
Though seemingly distant and unreachable, they also possess a gentle side.
Everyone knew Jinbang’s winters were extremely cold and long, so they had prepared down jackets and thick cotton coats in advance. However, when the cabin door opened, the biting cold still took them by surprise.
After exiting the airport, a crew-cutted attendant holding a sign guided them to the coach.
Gu Ji took a special look at the way he walked.
His posture was very straight, and as he walked, he put pressure behind his knees, especially the order in which his feet touched the ground, from heel to toe, was 100% correct.
"You’ve noticed as well?"
Upon hearing Liu Weijun speak, Gu Ji nodded.
This attendant is obviously not a police officer, but a military man.
Looks like things are going to get serious.
The coach set off, driving from the airport into the city. Through the windows, everyone saw the iconic ancient city of Bian Ga, filled with an exotic atmosphere, blue-patterned white mosques, and occasionally roadside stalls steaming with grilled lamb kebabs.
Just as everyone was absorbed in the beauty of Bian Ga City, the vehicle suddenly left the urban area and entered the highway.
Gu Ji took out his phone and checked the map.
They were moving away from the center of Bian Ga City, heading south.
As everyone assumed the training base would be somewhere on the outskirts of a nearby county, the coach entered the mountainous terrain.
Wu Kang exchanged glances with Gao Bo.
Instantly understanding, high-altitude training is coming!
By past seven in the evening, the coach began to slow down, steering towards an open space halfway up a hill, surrounded by fences.
Don’t be fooled by the late hour. Due to the vastness of the Xia Kingdom, Bian Ga, located far west, was actually three to four hours ahead of Jingzhou’s time in the evening.
So even though it was dark in Ningzhou, it was still evening here, and the sun hadn’t set yet.
The first thing Gu Ji noticed was the two sentries standing straight at the big iron gate. Although dressed in navy blue training uniforms, at a glance, their vigor clearly marked them as military personnel.
The center of the open space was piled high with those luggage bags resembling those from freshman enrollment, and there were four buildings around, three long ones arranged in a "gate" pattern, with the smallest one at the gap on the right side.
When the bus door opened, a man in his thirties, with slightly flushed cheeks from the high altitude, leaned at the entrance, waved, and shouted, "SWAT from Wu Province, get off and follow me!"
Judging by his accent, he wasn’t a local from Jinbang; he sounded more like he was from Qinchuan.
"My name is Wang Jianchang, and I’m responsible for your living arrangements during the training camp. If you have any daily life issues, feel free to contact me. I live on the first floor. Come on! Line up here to collect your luggage!"
"Gu Ji, why can’t I find a training ground or see any training instructors?"
Gao Bo, trailing at the back of the line, craned his neck, glancing all around. Except for the three buildings in front of them, they saw no other facilities, such as simulated blocks and tactical assault rooms, martial arts training grounds, shooting galleries, and swimming pools.
Could it all be inside that central building?
It didn’t seem spacious enough!
"Because the training ground isn’t here; this is just an abandoned school temporarily converted into dormitories, and that small house is the school washroom."
With Gu Ji’s explanation, Gao Bo understood instantly.
"When moving your luggage, don’t engage in rigorous activities, it’s easy to experience altitude sickness."
"Really? I didn’t feel anything unusual when I got off the plane," Hearing Gu Ji’s warning, Gao Bo tried taking a couple of breaths; apart from the air being a bit cool on the throat, he didn’t feel out of breath.
Gu Ji pulled out his phone, pointing to the data on the weather page.
This had become a habit from his time dealing with torrential rains in India. Aside from the basic weather conditions, it showed wind direction, precipitation intensity, air pressure, visibility, etc., and the altitude was listed as "3483 meters."
Gao Bo’s eyelid twitched.
