Point-of-View: Ariella Velle

"[Spirit Fusion, Thunder Dragon: Flash]," Chanted Kritak, as dozens of Knights began to surround us.

Electric blue scales formed over his body as intense sparks of lightning crackled around him. A pair of wings and a tail extended out as his horns curved black slightly.

He unleashed a fierce volley of lightning blasts around us, blasting and killing several of the Knights, cries of pain ringing out. The rest began to scatter, Kritak swiftly flying up as lightning crackled around his body.

"My turn, [Spirit Fusion, Apostle of Greed: Avaritia]!" I exclaimed as several Knights fired off barrages of Elemental Magic attacks at me.

I sprang up as the attacks closed in on me, loud crashes ringing out below me as the attacks collided against each other. I transformed as I zipped several meters up into the air, glowing black fur sprouting across my entire body, my hair spiking up as my nose and mouth extended into a snout.

A white stripe of fur appeared down the middle of forehead to the end of my snout, before I snapped open my jaws and unleashed a loud, deafening howl. My attack dazed the Knights below me as they failed to get out of the way, before I chanted as I plummeted...

"[Blaze Ignition: Flare]!"

The fur on my body changed from black to a fiery, orangish-red, an intense haze of heat surrounding me. I don’t need to use Supernova, it’d be overkill against opponents of this level.

Several Knights lunged at me as I landed back down, driving their weapons towards me. Intense, fiery bursts erupted the instant their weapons came into contact with me, several of the weapons breaking and snapping in half from the force of the bursts, the Knights stumbling back.

I leapt towards one of them, striking his chest with my right forearm as I shot across to his right, crushing his ribs as the impact triggered a fiery explosion, blood gushing out of his mouth as he collapsed onto his knees and fell over.

I then raced across at full speed, weaving through the crowd of Knights and striking them in vital spots, fatally wounding them as each of my strikes got exponentially boosted by the fiery burst effect of Blaze Ignition.

The sound of lightning rang out a short distance away as Kritak flew around and rained down powerful bolts of lightning, the Knights all but helpless to defend themselves.

I swung my right arm across, firing out powerful slashing waves of force, slicing a couple of Knights in half, before tilting my head across as a blast of wind came shooting towards my face. As the blast shot past the side of my head, I raced towards the Knight who’d fired it at me, slipping behind him and striking the nape of his neck with the back of my fist.

His head got blasted clean off his shoulders as a devastating fiery burst erupted upon impact, the force ripping through his neck and launching his head off, sending it hurtling through the air with a rapid spin as his body collapsed in a heap, blood pouring out of the stump left around his neck.

I then leapt towards another Knight, who flinched and stumbled in fear. I drove my right foot out as I closed in on him, striking the middle of his torso with the sole of my boot, blasting a hole through his body as the impact triggered another explosion of flames.

I then unleashed my Negative Flame Generation, black flames roaring around me before bursting out towards the Knights surrounding me. Agonized screams of pain rang out as the flames engulfed them and set them ablaze, the screams petering out in seconds as the Knights were reduced to ash.

I took aim and fired out several piercing beams of Negative Energy at a handful of Knights that were running away, shooting through their skulls and killing them before they could escape.

I glanced across as a despairing cry rang out, to see Kritak hurling a Knight towards the ground from high up, an explosion of blood and guts bursting out as the Knight crashed onto the ground.

Kritak then swooped down, lightning crackling around his entire body. He shot right through a Knight, tearing off a massive chunk of his flesh and killing him, before the Demon zipped towards the last remaining Knight, who frantically scrambled away in desperation.

Kritak grabbed the Knight by the top of the head as he got within reach, tightening his grip and spinning around rapidly, whipping the Knight around before launching him straight up into the air. The Knight yelled in terror as he got sent spiraling through the air with immense speed, Kritak charging up a concentrated bolt of lightning and taking aim.

As the Knight reached the peak of his ascent and started to plummet back down, Kritak fired the charged up lightning, sending it crackling through the air rapidly towards the Knight, who could only stare helplessly in despair.

A sharp spark and crackle rang out as the lightning collided against the Knight, a bright electric flash bursting out upon impact, reducing the Knight to a charred, smoking corpse.

I reverted to my base form as the Knight slammed onto the ground, the sound of bones breaking echoing out as he lay there crumpled with his limbs bent the wrong way.

"I expected more of a challenge. Is this really the extent of what the Lynocyes’ forces are capable of?" Frowned Kritak, a perplexed look on his face.

"I guess so. And yeah, I thought this would be at least a little bit tougher than it’s turned out to be so far. No, it’s still too soon to let our guards down, we can’t rule out the possibility that they have a few unexpected tricks up their sleeve that we haven’t accounted for," I suggested prudently.

"Yes, I suppose you’re right. We should remain vigilant until we are certain that it’s over," Kritak nodded in agreement.
