Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 306: Harder to Forget Your First Man
Evelyn lowered her eyes, feeling intensely worried about Cecilia Lynch’s situation.
It seems that women always have a mysterious dependency on the man who took their first time.
Back then, she thought when she got physically involved with Caden Lockwood, it felt like resignation, helplessness, grievance, and compromise all at once.
And for Cecilia Lynch and Julian Keaton, they’ve been together for two years, so it must be even harder to forget!
Caden Lockwood actually knew in his heart that there was a problem between Julian Keaton and Cecilia Lynch.
Recently, Julian Keaton started going on blind dates arranged by his family.
The number of women who want to marry into The Keaton Family is countless, and it’s likely that Julian is overwhelmed by the choices that he hasn’t even been bothering him.
However, Caden Lockwood originally thought something would happen between Julian Keaton and Cecilia Lynch.
It seems everyone’s choices are ultimately different.
"Don’t meddle in other people’s relationships; you’re not The Matchmaker, and you don’t have the power to make people happy ever after." Caden Lockwood’s tone was a warning.
Evelyn’s brows furrowed as she looked at Caden Lockwood, wondering what exactly he knew.
Deep down, she hoped that the fewer people knew about Cecilia Lynch and Julian Keaton’s affair, the better.
"Is it because it’s summer break and you have nothing to do?" Caden Lockwood asked coldly.
Evelyn nodded, muttering, "It’s kind of boring staying home by myself."
"Erin Morgan." Caden Lockwood’s voice was low, rich, and intoxicating, "I’m officially inviting you as the president of The Lockwood Group to intern at my company!"
"Hmm?" Evelyn’s eyes widened, "Your company? Internship?"
She remembered he mentioned it once before, but she refused.
Now, he’s asking again?
"Yes." Caden Lockwood replied, "Anyway, you’re bored at home. These days, it’s not easy to find something to do. Are you sure you don’t want to consider it? Use your husband, me, as a connection, and make your summer more meaningful?"
Evelyn stared at Caden Lockwood unblinkingly; to say she wasn’t tempted at all would be a lie.
But, does she want to take a job through connections?
If she worked at Caden Lockwood’s company, she wouldn’t be bored, but she’d definitely face a lot of challenges.
"What would I be doing? Is there an opening? Can I bring Cece along? Is there a salary?" Evelyn fired off a series of questions.
Caden Lockwood’s forehead was streaked with a few black lines as he listened, his expression becoming cooler and more indifferent.
"Just take care of yourself!" Caden Lockwood replied without warmth, "Report to work with me tomorrow! You’re better off being someplace I can keep an eye on than being bored and causing me trouble all day long!"
Evelyn was dumbfounded.
She hadn’t even agreed yet, and Caden Lockwood had already made the decision for her?
But, it’s not all bad!
Getting to work at The Lockwood Group is a dream for many people, right?
Still, being a newcomer through connections feels a bit awkward.
"Can’t I really bring Cece?" Evelyn asked softly, "Cece’s been having a hard time finding a job lately, I..."
Before Evelyn could finish, Caden Lockwood coldly interrupted her, "No."
Evelyn pouted; Caden Lockwood didn’t agree, and she had no other way.
"Then... what exactly would I be doing?" Evelyn continued to ask, "If it’s too difficult, I can’t do it."
"Stay by my side." Caden Lockwood said coldly, "Learn whatever there is to learn."
Evelyn nodded, a faint smile curving at her lips, "So, will I become someone with a job tomorrow? How much per month? Also, about that two bucks a day, can I not pay it back? We don’t even have a..."
"Keep paying." Caden Lockwood suddenly moved closer to Evelyn, "You’re eating my food, wearing my clothes, and living in my place, yet you want to spend nothing? Either you pay me back, or you become my real wife, so you can use my money and get your friends jobs in my company. How about that? Interested?"
