Evelyn’s voice was full of enthusiasm and dexterity, making one feel affectionate.

Caden Lockwood gently tapped Evelyn’s little nose and softly said, "Alright! You’re welcome anytime."

"But I have a small request." Evelyn squinted with a smile, "Could you... not let your employees know that I’m your wife? Since it’s an internship, if you want me to learn more, I need to train myself! Otherwise, everyone will try to please me and won’t dare to assign me any work, wouldn’t that be a waste of time?"

"You’re overthinking it, my dear wife." Caden raised Evelyn’s chin, "If you’re by my side as my little assistant, do you think I would try to please you by not letting you do any work?"

"Wha... what?" Astonishment filled Evelyn’s eyes, "By your side?"

"Yes!" Caden replied, "If you want to intern and train, is there a better opportunity than being by my side?"

"But..."

"No buts." Caden directly interrupted Evelyn, "You already agreed just now, do you dare to go back on your word?"

Evelyn blinked. How did she accidentally fall into his trap again?

Yet, she couldn’t seem to get angry at all!

"I don’t dare!" She pretended to be very afraid, "I absolutely don’t dare! Uncle, you’re so domineering and strong, who would dare to oppose you?"

Looking at the suppressed smile on the corner of Evelyn’s mouth, Caden’s palm felt a tingling itch.

He wanted to capture that smile in his hand and treasure it like a gem.

His heart suddenly moved, and Caden gently caressed Evelyn’s cheek, leaned in, and kissed her soft little mouth.

Absorbing her sweet fragrance, he felt particularly satisfied.

Under the setting sun, the shadows of Evelyn and Caden stretched long and fit closely together, appearing especially happy and intimate.

"Silly." Caden slightly released Evelyn, "Evy, don’t think just because you’re my wife, I’ll go easy on you; be careful or I’ll misuse my authority, and for anything you upset me with at home, I’ll retaliate at the company!"

"When did I ever upset you?" Evelyn was displeased, "With you like this, who would dare to upset you?"

"You’re actually feeling wronged?" Caden snorted lightly, "Ungrateful brat!"

Evelyn rolled her eyes at Caden, thinking of that previous kiss, her cheeks uncontrollably turned red.

Why is it that every time after being kissed, all she’s left with is a warning to herself not to think about it?

Isn’t he kissing her too casually, too frequently?

What about waiting for her to willingly do it?

But she didn’t have the courage to argue with him about it.

Bringing up such matters for discussion is really a bit embarrassing!

"Can I, please ask you to consider letting Cece work at the company too?" Evelyn quietly pleaded, "Cece has always had good academic results, but because of her mother’s illness, she dropped out early. But she has done a lot of part-time work; if given a proper position in sales, she would surely bring you considerable wealth!"

After hesitating for a moment, she added, "This doesn’t count as me misusing power; it also counts as... helping you scout for outstanding talent! Cece is really marvelous!"

Caden looked down, his gaze filled with deep affection as he looked at Evelyn.

This silly girl always thought of others’ matters more important than her own.
