Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 334: What Kind of Trash Are You?
Evelyn was still waiting in the dessert area of the banquet hall for Caden to return. She kept her eyes on the entrance but didn’t see Eleanor Keaton. Presumably, she didn’t dare to come back in and went straight home!
Evelyn shook her head, without feeling much joy in her victory.
Her original intention was to live well.
But if she had to be constantly on guard and alert, it seemed that life would just become exhausting.
Bored and with nothing to do, Evelyn thought about getting another piece of cake to eat.
Seeing a woman making pastries on-site, she was very interested and walked over to take a closer look.
At this moment, a friend of Eleanor Keaton approached, looked at Evelyn salivating over the cake, and sneered, "This sparrow turning into a phoenix really is still low-class. A perfectly good banquet turned into a foodie gathering?"
Evelyn glanced at the heavily made-up woman. She recognized her — she had laughed at her with Eleanor Keaton before, seemed like her name was Hannah Clayton.
It seemed that this Hannah Clayton had a good relationship with Eleanor Keaton.
Not wanting to provoke anyone further, Evelyn thought Caden should be back soon.
"Eleanor is the true Young Madam of the Lockwood Family, who do you think you are?" Hannah frowned, looking at Evelyn with disdain, "Just wait and see! Sooner or later, you’ll be kicked out of the Lockwood Family!"
Evelyn acted as if she didn’t hear Hannah’s words and softly said to the woman making the pastries, "I’d like this piece of cake, thanks."
The woman nodded and placed a piece of cake on a plate for Evelyn.
Before Evelyn could reach out to take it, Hannah snatched the cake first.
"Want a bite?" Hannah sneered.
Then, she let go of her hand, and the cake fell to the ground.
The cake that looked so beautiful just a moment ago now shattered on the floor like trash, a real pity.
"You!" Evelyn clenched her fist.
This Hannah was obviously provoking her time and again!
"See that piece of cake?" Hannah’s smile grew wider, "That’s just like you — sooner or later, you’ll be smashed to pieces."
Seeing the anger on Evelyn’s face, Hannah added, "What was your friend’s name again? Cecilia Lynch? She’s just the same! Don’t covet things that aren’t yours! Just look at what kind of trash you are!"
Saying this, Hannah’s lips curved into a victorious smile. She glanced at the woman making the pastries and coldly ordered, "Clean up the mess on the floor! It would be bad if someone slipped on it!"
Evelyn took a deep breath. Hannah mocking her was something she could endure.
But for Hannah to say such things about Cecilia Lynch?
Cecilia Lynch was a thousand times better than Hannah!
Evelyn decided she couldn’t endure it any longer.
Quickly, Evelyn grabbed Hannah’s arm and coldly said, "You dropped it on purpose, why should someone else clean it up? You pick it up yourself and use a napkin to wipe it clean."
"Me?" Hannah responded as if she’d heard a funny joke, "Are you crazy? You’re asking me to do such a thing? Do you think I’m you, doing odd jobs and willing to do anything? Then, finding a rich man and sticking to him like adhesive tape!"
"At least the money I earn is through my own hard work, and you?" Evelyn’s face was flushed with anger, "What about the things you wear and use, did you earn any of them? If we were placed in a fair environment to fend for ourselves, let’s see whether I could survive or you?"
"You!"
"Moreover, if your parents gave you money and taught you not to respect people, I imagine they’d be disappointed, right?" Evelyn said coldly, "But can someone like you be described as trash? Then what are you?"
