James Lockwood looked at Evelyn Morgan; the two gazed at each other, and Evelyn’s aura didn’t lose out to James at all.

James frowned, speaking first: "Make sure to keep in touch with Ms. Susan Stone when you can." He spoke in an instructive tone.

"Is that right?" Evelyn’s eyes sparkled, "Actually, you also think I’m incredibly lucky, don’t you?"

Seeing Evelyn’s barely contained laughter, James appeared quite surprised.

"I also find it quite amazing! But, I feel awkward showing it too openly, after all, surely everyone is envious of my luck, right?" Evelyn’s tone was conversational.

"..."

"It’s simply unbelievable! Hahaha—I still feel like I’m dreaming! If I had such luck every time, I’d definitely be taken to every banquet; even if I didn’t want to go, I’d be forced to!" Evelyn laughed.

James awkwardly curled his lip, unable to accept Evelyn’s self-indulgent demeanor.

"I can’t believe I unintentionally closed such a huge deal!" Evelyn’s joy was palpable, "So dreamy!"

Watching Evelyn, James’s expression was helpless yet curious.

Noises in his ear like buzzing mosquitoes; he waved his hand and said coldly, "You can leave now."

Evelyn was taken aback, and seeing James’s impatient face, she pursed her lips and reluctantly reined in her excitement.

She came to see James, actually, for a very important matter.

Evelyn’s face turned exceptionally serious as she spoke softly: "You poisoned Caden; if you have a way to relieve his pain, please help him—after all, he is your son."

With that, she nodded slightly to James and pushed the door open to leave.

Watching Evelyn’s departing figure, James shook his head, muttering softly, "This girl doesn’t seem that annoying after all."

As the words fell, James looked shocked, a flash of hurried complexity in his eyes...

Meanwhile, Caden Lockwood was waiting in place for Evelyn, when Julian Keaton slowly walked over from not far away.

"Your girl made quite the splash tonight!" Julian started joking, "How do you feel? In a great mood?"

Caden looked at Julian, seeing him act as if nothing had happened, he felt slightly more at ease.

Thankfully, the breakup with Cecilia Lynch hadn’t affected him too much.

"What do you want?" Caden asked coldly.

Julian’s smile deepened a bit.

Caden truly understood him!

"You left Evelyn alone at the banquet, surely you arranged someone to protect her safety, and you knew everything happening at the banquet at the same time, didn’t you?" Julian said lightly, "You surely know about Eleanor trying to deal with Evelyn."

At the mention of Eleanor Keaton, Caden slightly raised his chin, a cold gleam appeared in his eyes.

Of course, he could not leave Evelyn just stranded at the banquet.

He knew everything happening to her, knew she could handle it herself, so he didn’t show up.

That girl exceeded his expectations; she actually managed to protect herself.

"Do you want me to spare Eleanor?" Caden heaved a sigh, "Julian, do you think I seem like an easy person to talk to?"

"Eleanor is still young," Julian sighed and spoke, "I’ll manage her well in the future, won’t let her cause trouble again."

"Last time, tossing her into the sea didn’t teach her a lesson," Caden’s eyes narrowed slightly, "This time, she even dared to use such a disgusting method?" 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"That girl truly likes you," Julian shrugged, "Blame you for being too charming!"

Caden’s dark brow twisted, cold and fierce power surged around him, Julian immediately spoke: "I promise, there won’t be a next time! Spare her this time, and I’ll make her taste the bitterness."

"I’ve given you several chances already," Caden said coldly, "If you can’t manage her, I don’t mind doing it myself."

"..."

"I won’t bully girls," Caden enunciated, "But a girl who bullies my wife, I won’t let go!"
