Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 389: Unable to Completely Ignore Big Brother
Evelyn felt a bit embarrassed being scrutinized by Logan Shaw.
At the same time, she was quite puzzled—after all, it wasn’t her who didn’t accept his bracelet, so why was he looking at her like that?
Could it be that this is how a man acts when he’s heartbroken?
"I’ll excuse myself for a moment," Logan finally spoke. "Evelyn, go ahead and eat, you don’t have to wait for me. Isn’t there another appointment after? I’ll take you there after eating, don’t be late."
"Hey!" Evelyn called out anxiously, "You..."
She hesitated after uttering a single word, feeling troubled once more.
Was Logan leaving because he was too upset to control his thoughts, afraid he might lose composure in front of her?
Though he said he had no feelings for Shannon Dunn anymore, deep down, he still loved her.
Apparently, Shannon was Logan’s first love!
Evelyn could relate all too well to the difficulty of forgetting one’s first love.
When Evelyn remained silent, Logan asked, "What’s wrong?"
The thought that Evelyn had pushed down was now surfacing again.
She appeared tense, her hands unconsciously clenched into fists, her gaze trembling, and an intense panic surged in her eyes.
"I wanted to ask, could I borrow your phone to make a call? My phone... is running out of battery," Evelyn said, not daring to meet Logan’s eyes, afraid he’d see through her current nervousness.
Her phone wasn’t out of battery at all!
She just had another purpose for using his phone!
Logan didn’t think much of it, took out his phone and handed it to Evelyn, told her the password, and then turned to head to the restroom.
The trust Logan gave her filled Evelyn with immense guilt.
She rarely lied.
But just now, she had lied to Logan.
He had so easily given her his phone password, really unguarded towards her.
If he realized she deceived him, would he be angry?
Evelyn felt extremely guilty, watching Logan’s back, she could only gather up her inner guilt, suppress it and try not to think about it for now.
Holding Logan’s phone, Evelyn’s heart was in her throat, pounding "thump thump," as if it would jump out.
She even held her breath, her face turning pale from the tension as she unlocked Logan’s phone, amber eyes filled with subtle panic.
It was fear, dread, confusion, heaviness; it was as if her heart was weighed down by blocks of iron, dragging her down heavily.
In that place where no light could be seen, she couldn’t find hope or a companion, yet the belief in her heart to verify something became strangely firm.
She wanted to verify what L said.
To find out if what L said about Logan being the big brother was true or false.
Opening the phone book, Evelyn found Aunt May’s number, her hand holding the phone began to shake.
At that moment, fear and terror filled her mind completely.
Her hairs stood on end, her back was cold, as if a ghost was tightly clinging to her.
Looking at the call button, Evelyn didn’t dare to press it.
If she really confirmed any truth, perhaps, her current life would be completely turned upside down. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Logan?
Big brother?
No way!
Logan had clearly said he wasn’t the big brother.
He didn’t seem like someone who would lie!
Evelyn sighed deeply, knowing she needed to act quickly.
The doubt in her heart was growing deeper and deeper.
Like a seed in her heart, sooner or later it would take root and sprout.
Instead of not knowing when it would grow stronger and become her bind, she might as well find out now.
After all, she couldn’t completely ignore the identity and existence of the big brother.
