Sold for 300, I Fight Back with Superpowers
Chapter 105: If You Harm Others, Don’t Expect to Escape Punishment
"You endangered someone, and you think I can’t hit you for it?" Wang Xuehong’s voice trembled with rage. He could not believe Pang Xiaofang could be so sinister.
Wang Xuehong pointed at Pang Xiaofang and shouted, "Your nephew ran up a gambling debt! Didn’t I tell you to go to your family and report it to the police? I told you to report it! But what did you do when you went to your parents’ house? Not only did you not call the police, but you also dragged Su Qing into this mess! If Su Qing hadn’t been so quick-witted, do you have any idea what would have happened to her?"
"It’s not like I did it on purpose. I didn’t mean to hurt her." Pang Xiaofang was still defiant. She turned and glared at Su Qing, blaming her for getting Zhao Youcai and his wife involved. ’Nothing even happened, yet she’s blowing things out of proportion. She’s just trying to make things difficult for me.’
Su Qing saw Pang Xiaofang’s glare and coolly returned it. She could tell that, deep down, Pang Xiaofang truly believed she had done nothing wrong.
"You..." Wang Xuehong was so angry he looked ready to hit Pang Xiaofang again, but Zhao Youcai quickly interceded. "Old Wang, Old Wang, we need to deal with this situation first. These three men broke in to commit robbery in the middle of the night. That’s a serious crime that has to be reported to the police. Not to mention, it’s connected to an illegal casino. We can’t let any of this slide."
"Right." Wang Xuehong nodded. "Let’s go to Su Qing’s house now."
Pang Xiaofang grew anxious when she heard this. She remembered her parents’ words. ’What if they report it to the police and her nephew gets arrested? He’s the only male heir of the Pang family!’
"No! If you call the police, my Baozhu will get dragged into it," Pang Xiaofang quickly tried to stop them. She turned to Su Qing. "Su Qing, look, you’re fine today. Can’t we just let this go? We can just talk to those men and tell them not to come back, okay?"
Su Qing’s expression turned cold. "Aunt Wang, I will not be letting this go."
"You foolish girl, why are you so unreasonable?" Pang Xiaofang said anxiously.
Tang Suqin had had enough. "Pang Xiaofang, who are you calling unreasonable? This is a huge deal, and you want to pretend it never happened? What do you mean, ’let it go because Su Qing is fine’? If anyone’s being unreasonable, it’s you! You’re a grown woman! Have you no shame?"
"Tang Suqin, this is none of your business!" Pang Xiaofang snapped.
"I can’t stand to see you bully people! Su Qing is just a young girl who hasn’t done anything to you. Why should she have to suffer this injustice and not be allowed to seek justice for herself?" Tang Suqin planted her hands on her hips and yelled at Pang Xiaofang.
Humiliated by Tang Suqin’s words, Pang Xiaofang turned to Wang Xuehong. "Wang Xuehong, are you just going to stand there and watch your wife get bullied like this?"
Wang Xuehong’s face was grim, and he said nothing. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Pang Xiaofang was livid. She looked at Zhao Youcai, who just raised an eyebrow. "Sister-in-law Wang, forgive me for being blunt, but my wife isn’t wrong."
"You... all of you..." Pang Xiaofang, completely isolated, trembled with rage.
Wang Xuehong said, "Enough. Let’s hurry to Su Qing’s house before those guys wake up and run off."
"Right." Zhao Youcai nodded quickly. The group hurried toward Su Qing’s house. Pang Xiaofang, however, didn’t follow. She planned to take advantage of the distraction and slip away to Qianshan Village. She had to go back to her family and tell Baozhu to go into hiding. It would be a disaster if the police caught him.
But Pang Xiaofang had barely taken two steps when Su Qing asked, "Aunt Wang, where are you going?"
Wang Xuehong turned his head and instantly understood what Pang Xiaofang was planning. Furious, he strode forward and grabbed her. "You are not to go back to your family and say a word about this. And you are forbidden from going to Qianshan Village until this is all cleared up."
Pang Xiaofang was frantic. "That’s my nephew, but he’s your nephew too! How can you be so heartless?"
Then, Pang Xiaofang turned to Su Qing. "Su Qing, my nephew has never even met you. How can you have the heart to ruin him like this?"
Su Qing’s voice was ice-cold. "Aunt Wang, I’ve never met your nephew. So why did he try to ruin me?"
"This..." Pang Xiaofang was speechless.
When they arrived at Su Qing’s house, the three men were still unconscious on the floor. After dragging them into the main room, Su Qing took out a needle and pricked each of them in the philtrum.
"AARGH—" The three men were jolted awake by the pain. Zhao Youcai and the others couldn’t help but blink. ’Hiss... that looks painful.’
As soon as the men woke up and saw several other people besides Su Qing, they deflated. One of them began to beg Su Qing for mercy. "Miss, we told you everything we know! Please, just let us go!"
"Tell them what you told me earlier. Repeat everything, and be specific," Su Qing said to the three men.
"Okay, okay." The men were thoroughly terrified of Su Qing by now. They scrambled to repeat everything they knew, from start to finish.
After hearing the men’s story, Zhao Youcai and the others couldn’t help but look at Pang Xiaofang again. A chill went down Pang Xiaofang’s spine. She knew there was no escaping this. She recognized one of the three men—he was the one who had come to the Pang family’s house that day.
And clearly, the man recognized her too. He quickly pointed at Pang Xiaofang and said, "It was her! She’s the one who told me everything about you! They were angry that you wouldn’t lend them money."
Wang Xuehong’s face flushed with anger. He couldn’t stop himself from giving Pang Xiaofang another hard slap across the face. This time, Pang Xiaofang didn’t dare argue back. She covered her face, lowered her head, and cowered to the side, wishing she could become invisible.
"Old Wang, this has to be reported to the police," Zhao Youcai said to Wang Xuehong.
Wang Xuehong pressed his lips together and took a deep breath before finally nodding. "Fine. Report it."
Wang Xuehong knew that if they reported this to the police, Pang Xiaofang would absolutely be implicated. She might even go to jail. But the Pang family was unequivocally in the wrong here. If he didn’t take a firm stand, he wouldn’t just be failing Su Qing; he wouldn’t be able to live with himself. He had lived his whole life in an upright and honorable way, and he could not tolerate doing anything to wrong another person.
"Old Wang! Old Wang, if you report this to the police, I’m finished!" Pang Xiaofang said to Wang Xuehong in a panic.
Wang Xuehong took a deep breath and turned to face Pang Xiaofang. "This is the mess you made. You have to face the consequences. Since you committed this malicious act, don’t even think about escaping punishment."
"Old Wang, how can you be so cruel?" Pang Xiaofang cried. "I’m your wife! After all these years together, this is how you treat me?"
"Even a prince is subject to the same laws as a commoner. I’m a village cadre, so I have an even greater duty to lead by example," Wang Xuehong said, enunciating every word.
Hearing Wang Xuehong’s words, Pang Xiaofang felt her legs give out, and she slumped to the floor.
Suppressing his rage, Wang Xuehong said to Zhao Youcai, "In a bit, we’ll go to the village committee office and call the Public Security Bureau to file a report."
"Okay."
