Cheng Beilin, who was standing nearby, chimed in with a smile, "My brother was on his way to Beijing to talk business, so he happened to have the design catalog with him."

Su Qing’s four raw stones weren’t very large, and the stonecutter quickly sliced them open. One was a bust, containing nothing, but the other three all revealed green. The brick-shaped stone, in particular, yielded a Fu Lu Shou jadeite. Its spring green, tender yellow, and light red hues blended together perfectly, so stunningly beautiful that it made the other two pieces of jadeite seem unremarkable by comparison.

"Oh my god, Su Qing, your luck is just incredible!" Cheng Beilin was absolutely stunned as she stared at the Fu Lu Shou tri-color jadeite. ’What are the odds? Five of your six stones showed green, and two of them are incredibly valuable! I, on the other hand, also had five of my eight stones show green, but they were either the common ’bean’ variety or the jadeite was tiny. I didn’t lose money, but I definitely didn’t strike it rich. It was a small win, at best.’

Su Qing just smiled. "Pure luck."

The onlookers no longer had any interest in watching. They swarmed over to the blind-buy section. With the chances of finding green in these stones seeming so high, they had to grab a few. It was a chance to bet small and win big; maybe one of them would cut open a huge piece.

Su Qing had no plans to sell the three pieces of jadeite she had just cut, so she put them into her bag. With those, plus a large case of gold bars and the eight hundred yuan from her deal with Shi Youda, Su Qing’s haul for the day was more than bountiful.

"Su Qing, are you going to buy any more raw stones?" Cheng Beilin asked.

"I’m done," Su Qing said with a smile. ’I’ve already gotten so much by relying on my Wood Ability. At the end of the day, it’s cheating, and it’s best to know when to stop.’

"Yeah, I’m done buying, too. At least I came out a little ahead this time. Now my brother can’t say I’m jinxed anymore," Cheng Beilin also laughed. "Since we’re finished, let’s go find a place to eat. My treat! I hear Laxian has a lot of local delicacies."

"This is the mainland," An Zhiqian said with a frown. "A sum of five hundred thousand would be considered a major case. You know that, right? If anything went wrong and the police traced it back to us in Xiangcheng, our family would be in serious trouble."

"You’re the one who doesn’t understand," An Zhiqian told her. "You saw her. She’s just a girl, but she dares to go into the deep mountains alone. Do you think she’d do that without some kind of advantage? Besides, you saw it yourself today—that case with the Big Yellow Fish weighed at least eighty or ninety pounds, and she lifted it effortlessly with one hand. Do you really think she’s some helpless girl who couldn’t even truss a chicken? Did you forget she beat down our family’s bodyguards yesterday?"
