Chapter 98: Eclipse Protocol

The sixth month of the regression did not arrive with a dawn, for Ren Hanshin had already murdered the concept of morning. In the absolute, crushing silence of the Okutama summit, the world had become a monochromatic sanctuary of dark violet and matte obsidian. The Eternal Noon of the God of Light was a distant, flickering candle viewed from the depths of a bottomless well.

Ren stood at the center of a localized void, his form no longer reflecting the laws of physics.

His midnight-indigo hair was a torrent of dark mana that didn’t drift in the wind but pulled the air toward it. His right arm, the Obsidian Graft, was etched with pulsing crimson runes that glowed with the rhythmic heartbeat of the Weaver herself.

His left side, the iron-lead anchor, had become a dull, indestructible silver-black alloy, capable of parrying a star. He was the default made flesh, a bankruptcy of the soul so absolute that reality itself groaned in his presence.

The Weaver stood before him, her manifestation so potent that she was no longer translucent. She was a goddess of meat, silk, and starlight, her crimson robes fluttering in a vacuum of her own making. Her eyes were twin singularities, and as she looked at Ren, the obsession was a physical gravity that bound their atoms together.

"The six months are complete, my king," the Weaver whispered, her voice a shivering harmonic that shattered the frozen air. "The mud has been refined into iron. The starlight has been drowned in the abyss. You are no longer a needle; you are the Loom of the End. Today, we execute the Eclipse Protocol."

She stepped forward, her bare feet clicking against the frost-shattered stone. She reached out, her long, silver nails tracing the crimson veins on his obsidian chest.

"The God of Light thinks he is watching us," she murmured, a predatory smile curving her lunar-pale lips. "He thinks his ’First Ray’ is still monitoring the earth. He thinks the Porter is still broken in the mud. Let us show him the true nature of the shadow."

She raised her hand, and the manifestations of the court, the Silent Queen and the Auditor’s Handmaidens appeared in a circle around them. They were no longer mere reflections; they were conceptual anchors, their combined mana creating a dark zone that reached from the mountain peak to the edge of the atmosphere.

"To return to the Forge, we do not climb," the Weaver commanded, her many spiritual limbs wrapping around Ren’s waist, pulling him into a cold, divine embrace. "We invert. We make the heavens fall to the mud."

Ren didn’t hesitate. He summoned the Void-Reaper. The black scythe vibrated in pure hunger. The dark violet corona of flames on the blade expanded, turning into a massive, crescent-shaped rift of absolute nothingness. Ren gripped the handle with both hands, the friction of his 70% synchronization creating sparks of dark violet lightning that danced across his obsidian skin.

"I am the Porter," Ren rasped, his voice a singular, heavy choral that made the mountains of Japan tremble. "And I’m tired of the glare."

The Weaver climbed onto his back, her arms wrapping around his neck, her cold, silk-clad body pressing against him as she merged her mana with his. They were a singular thread now — the Executioner and the Fate that drove him.

"STRIKE!" the Weaver screamed in his ear. "SEVER THE GAZE!"

Ren swung the Void-Reaper in a slow, horizontal arc. He didn’t aim for an enemy. He aimed for the Ray of Solis, the conceptual umbilical cord that connected the God of Light’s forge to the Earth.

"Abyssal Shinen-ryu: Zero-Point Reaping - THE ECLIPSE!"

The dark violet arc didn’t travel through the air; it erased it. The strike hit the First Ray of Solis with the weight of a billion tons of dirt. There was no explosion, only a horrific, silent pop as the light was devalued into a vacuum.

The sky over Earth turned black in an instant. The Monitoring Ray was swallowed by the scythe, its solar mana funneled through Ren’s obsidian arm and into the Weaver’s loom. The survivors in the forest below looked up and saw the stars reappear in the middle of the day because the Shadow of the Porter was now larger than the sky.

[Synchronization: 75.0% (LOCKED)]

The Weaver let out a sound of shivering ecstasy. She pulled Ren into a kiss that tasted of iron, ash, and the absolute victory of the dark. The 75.0% synchronization locked into place, a bond so deep that Ren could no longer tell where his dirt ended and her silk began.

"He felt it, Ren," the Weaver whispered against his lips, her eyes flaring with a terrifying joy. "The God of Light just felt the cold. For the first time in an eternity, the Sun is afraid of the Night."

She pulled back, her crimson threads weaving a new royal shroud for him of Obsidian Fate-Silk. She draped the dark, heavy fabric over his shoulders, her silver nails clicking against the obsidian glass of his arm.

The court of the harem knelt. The Silent Queen lowered her head, her porcelain body vibrating with the resonance of Ren’s power. The Handmaidens offered the last of the Lunar Draught, which Ren drank in a single, silent gulp.

"We are ready," Ren said, his obsidian-silver eyes turning into twin pits of calm void.

He looked at the wreckage of the Kashima Maru. The ship was no longer a skeleton. The survivors, under Haru’s direction, had fused the iron with the forest’s ancient wood and the Weaver’s silk. It was now a Void-Galleon, a ship that didn’t sail on water, but on the friction of the higher heavens.

Haru stood at the prow. She saw Ren descending from the mountain peak, walking on the air as if it were solid slate. She didn’t see her brother. She saw the Void-Porter, a Sovereign of the Abyss who had returned from the dead to settle a debt.

"Niisan..." she whispered. R

en stopped a few feet from her. He didn’t touch her. He didn’t smile. He simply looked at the sapphire core in her chest.

"The delivery is back on schedule, Haru," Ren said, his voice a heavy, melodic chime. "Get everyone on the ship. We’re climbing the Forge."

The Weaver manifested beside him, her crimson threads wrapping around his arm like a leash made of stars. She looked at Haru with a possessive, predatory gaze, but for the first time, there was a glimmer of respect in her eyes. The sapphire had survived the dark, just as the needle had.

"Let us go, my king," Weaver said, her voice ringing across the Okutama valley. "The God of Light is waiting at the zenith. He thinks he has refined the world. Let us show him the beauty of the Unrefined."

The Void-Galleon let out a low, bass-heavy roar. The obsidian-silk hull began to glow with a dark violet light, and the ship lifted off the mud of Earth, tearing through the atmosphere like a black spear.

Ren Hanshin stood at the prow, the Void-Reaper resting against his shoulder. He wasn’t looking at the sky. He was looking at the knot. He saw the single thread in the Weaver’s pattern that led back to the Solar Forge.

The six months of training were over. The Shadow of the Loom was absolute. And as the ship crossed the threshold back into the higher heavens, the Eternal Noon of Solis began to flicker.

[Condition: THE ECLIPSE HAS ARRIVED]

Ren Hanshin, at Level 125 and 75% synchronization, was no longer a man fighting for survival. He was the Executioner of the Light.

"The mud is coming to the sun," Ren whispered to the void. "And it’s bringing the night with it."

The Constellation of Solis appeared ahead, but it no longer looked like a sun. It looked like a target. And as the black scythe began to vibrate with the frequency of a dying star, Ren Hanshin realized that he had finally stopped feeling the weight of the bag. He had become the weight.
