Solving Middle Age Crisis by Intelligence System
Chapter 737 - 480: You’re the Boss, We’ll Follow Your Lead
The Taibei airport, with two Mercedes-Benz business cars waiting in the parking lot.
To Qi Yun's surprise, Wei Zhe personally came to pick him up.
"Mr. Wei, it's too kind of you to come personally," Qi Yun quickly stepped forward to shake hands with Wei Zhe.
Wei Zhe beamed, "Little Qi, you are a distinguished guest. When I visited your place, you took such good care of me, now that you're in Taibei, how could I not come to welcome you personally? It's the host's duty."
His tone was warm as he patted Qi Yun's arm, "Let's go, we'll head to your place first. Your two friends have already arrived."
"Alright." Qi Yun nodded with a smile, and the group got into the car.
The two friends mentioned were President Bi and Ye Hanwen.
Zhang Wei held 12% of the stock in Evergreen Marine, as per the previously discussed distribution plan, President Bi and Ye Hanwen each took 1%. 1% may seem small, but converted to RMB, it's 2.5 billion.
Both of them put in considerable effort to gather this cash.
Given Evergreen Marine's current average daily trading volume, if one wants to buy 1% of the shares from the stock market, it would take at least a month.
Moreover, the price would keep rising as they buy, eventually costing far more than 2 billion.
Qi Yun's portion was 2%, which meant he had to come up with 5 billion.
He had a hard time fetching this amount as well; he had over 3 billion initially, and with the 1.8 billion loans arranged by Tian Yaosheng, he barely managed to pull it off.
This means once he spent this money, he only had less than 200 million in cash left.
The remaining major portion of 8% was naturally taken by Fu Wentao, and from the looks of it, he seemed to have bigger plans in mind.
Previously, the largest shareholder of Evergreen Marine was Zhang Wei, and the second largest was Evergreen International Corporation, holding about 7.5%.
The shareholders of this Evergreen International were Zhang Wei's siblings.
The previous Sect Leader of the Zhang family left the biggest piece of the pie to the youngest son before he passed away.
Although Zhang Wei was the largest shareholder, he wasn't fond of the scheming in the business world, or perhaps he didn't want to fall out with his siblings, so he was quite indifferent to power, and Evergreen Marine was practically run by his relatives.
Faced with their relentless pressure, Zhang Wei became disheartened and ultimately decided to sell his shares.
"What time is Mr. Fu expected to arrive?" Wei Zhe handed over a bottle of water and asked.
It was known to both him and Zhang Wei that Fu Wentao had a stake in this 12% of the stock, as Qi Yun had communicated with them.
But only the two of them knew about it.
In the documents, the 8% was sold to an investment company in Beijing, and this investment company had no direct connection to the Fu Group.
Clearly, Fu Wentao had his own plans and didn't want to reveal them prematurely.
Qi Yun checked the time, "He's flying in from Germany, he should arrive by evening."
Wei Zhe nodded, "I have yet to meet Mr. Fu. It's fate that brought about this cooperation."
"President Zhang will also be arriving later; we'll hold a welcoming dinner for you all tonight."
"Haha, alright, I'll introduce you to each other tonight." Qi Yun agreed with a smile.
The car soon arrived at a luxurious neighborhood in the outskirts of Taibei, surrounded by mountains and water. Wei Zhe had a 3,000-square-meter estate here, complete with a swimming pool, courtyard, and garden.
It also had a butler, chef, and servants, offering excellent comfort and privacy, occasionally used for hosting important guests.
In Taibei, just this villa's value exceeded 2 billion Taiwan dollars, a true top-tier mansion.
President Bi and Ye Hanwen were already waiting in the lounge. Seeing Qi Yun and Wei Zhe enter, both stood up to greet them.
"Haha, Brother Qi, it's been a while." Ye Hanwen cheerfully came forward to greet him.
He had been in South Africa handling business there and was not well-versed in recent events relating to Qi Yun.
When he heard from President Bi that the latter wanted to buy Evergreen Marine's shares and was bringing them along to share the bounty, he was stunned for days.
Seeing Qi Yun now, his excitement and gratitude were palpable.
Evergreen Marine had been established for nearly sixty years, dominating half of the shipping business. Buying 1% of its shares at such a price was quite a lucrative deal.
It's no exaggeration to say that this 1% of shares could serve as a family heirloom, allowing his son and grandson to live a leisurely life merely on its dividends.
"Brother Ye, long time no see." Qi Yun smiled and shook hands with Ye Hanwen, then turned to President Bi, "President Bi, you..."
He meant to make a polite remark about how well the other looked, but then he noticed that President Bi was pale, had puffy eyes, and was clearly not as vibrant as before.
"President Bi, have you been overworking yourself lately? Health is the foundation of success, take care."
His new secretary seemed to be quite a character.
President Bi coughed awkwardly, concealing his embarrassment, "Hmm, I haven't been resting well these past few days."
After exchanging pleasantries for a while, they each sat down.
Before long, Zhang Wei also arrived from Taoyuan, bringing a gift for Qi Yun, a set of rosewood tea utensils he made himself, showing much thoughtfulness. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"Mr. Qi, just a small token to thank you for your warm hospitality last time."
Qi Yun did not decline and accepted it graciously, "President Zhang, you're too kind, thank you."
President Bi and Ye Hanwen also received gifts, although not as unique as the tea set.
After some casual conversation, later in the evening, Qi Yun, along with Brother Quan and others, headed to the airport to pick up Fu Wentao.
Considering the confidentiality of the transaction, Wei Zhe and the others did not accompany them.
