Sovereign of the Ashes
Chapter 1799: Casting Forbidden Spell
Feylis certainly did not go easy on her grand apprentice.
Cadillac was an unusually difficult battlefield to break through.
The Magus Civilization legions had launched several offensives against this demiplane before, and every one of them had ended in failure.
Even Gregory had suffered repeated setbacks there.
In terms of size, Cadillac was larger than most low-level planes.
However, as a demiplane, it was governed by incomplete rules and lacked a planar barrier. As a result, the entire plane appeared far more desolate, with vast stretches of metal ruins scattered both inside and around it.
The Gallant Federation had thoroughly transformed this demiplane into a metallic frontline. At present, the Magus Civilization’s advance across the demiplane had only reached about forty-seven percent.
To conquer it completely within three years was no easy task.
Even so, Sein raised no objection to the order given by his grandmaster.
Many Magus Civilization powerhouses across the surrounding battlefields knew that Sein was Feylis’ grand apprentice.
If Feylis assigned him missions that were easy yet highly rewarding, it would inevitably draw criticism over time.
In truth, the missions Feylis had given her apprentices in recent years had all been quite difficult.
Take Gregory, for example. More than a decade ago, he had come to Cadillac to deal with this hard target, only to leave frustrated and empty-handed.
At this point, this demiplane had become a thorn in the side of the Magus Civilization forces under Feylis’ command.
Although many regions across BF037 Star Domain were currently engulfed in war, Cadillac was one of the more important planar battlefields. Both civilizations had poured enormous attention and resources into this once-unremarkable demiplane.
“Is Grandmaster testing whether two centuries of rest have dulled my edge in war?” Sein wondered as he looked down at the vast battlefield below while approaching Cadillac.
Aside from Sein’s own direct forces, Feylis had also assigned legions from two knightly orders and six allied foreign deities to join this offensive.
This meant the Magus Civilization had committed more than ten law-wielding combatants to this demiplane battlefield alone!
Of the six allied foreign deities, the only one Sein recognized was Beatrice, who commanded a legion of roughly five hundred thousand troops from Marvelous Plane.
As for Orric the Ocean King, Darian of the Shadowbat Civilization, and Karl of Planet Klythera, they were most likely fighting in the surrounding star domains rather than on Cadillac itself.
Golden Rock Worlds was a medium-sized star domain jointly overseen by Grandmaster Feylis and White Stella.
Sein did not know the exact deadline the Magus Civilization’s high command had set for them, but judging by Feylis’ order for him to conquer Cadillac within three years, it was clearly a tight one.
“I would like to lead the vanguard assault against the Gallant Federation’s frontlines!” Gin, the newly promoted Rank Four knight who had only recently joined Ashenreach, eagerly declared to Sein.
Although Gin had only just advanced to Rank Four, the fact that he had been able to injure a Magus World knight of the same rank was enough to prove his strength.
After giving Gin a glance, Sein ultimately approved his request to join the battle. At the same time, he assigned two of the six foreign deities Feylis had placed under his command to support Gin’s assault.
They were the Blue Crescent King and the God of Murphy, each of whom commanded nearly a million troops.

Fierce fighting soon erupted once again across Cadillac.
In truth, the fighting on this demiplane had never really stopped.
The two knightly order legions Feylis had assigned to him had already been fighting on Cadillac even before Sein’s arrival. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
The arrival of three heavy space fortresses undoubtedly gave the Magus Civilization legions on this demiplane a major morale boost.
With large numbers of prism forts and war airships constantly launching from those fortresses, the message sent to every legion here was clear: another Magus Civilization main force had entered the battlefield!
Not long after Gin charged forward to lead the assault, Sein himself appeared on the frontlines of the demiplane, accompanied by Reina, Sia, and Beatrice.
The Gallant Federation forces facing them were exceptionally strong. The law-wielding combat units they had deployed across this demiplane numbered no fewer than ten.
Among them were six giant mobile suits, each possessing combat strength comparable to Rank Four or even Rank Five beings.
The rest were mostly defensive forts or low-altitude fleet formations.
There was also a blockhouse, a colossal structure the Gallant Federation had built at tremendous cost, with an overall power output that reached the peak of Rank Five.
Gregory had exhausted every method at his disposal, yet he still failed to inflict any significant damage on the blockhouse and was instead badly battered by its concentrated fire.
Given the demiplane’s deep foundations and vast spatial scale, even the Magus Civilization would have found it difficult to destroy it by force from beyond the stars.
No wonder Feylis found it so troublesome, like a fishbone stuck in her throat.
“Grandmaster must have taken Fermera into account. If I deploy her, ending the war on this demiplane within three years should indeed be possible. The Gallant Federation forces on the other side do not appear to have any Rank Six combatants,” he murmured.
“But there’s no need to bring Fermera out just yet. I can first show the results of my recent research.”
With that, Sein rose into the sky above the battlefield.
A massive elemental disturbance spread across Cadillac, accompanied by the low murmurs that heralded the casting of a forbidden spell. Dark clouds began to churn and gather across the entire sky.
Crimson chains of flame appeared above the battlefield, accompanied by the sound of thunder in their wake.
The might unleashed by a Rank Five mage casting a forbidden spell was a terrifying catastrophe, far beyond the comprehension or resistance of lesser beings.
As Sein began to release the power of the forbidden spell over the battlefield, the Gallant Federation legions, which had been on the defensive until then, suddenly launched a full assault against the Magus Civilization forces.
Six giant mobile suits, each bearing damage to varying degrees, charged together toward the location where Sein was casting the forbidden spell.
After fighting the Magus Civilization for so long, the Gallant Federation understood very well that law-wielding mages were often at their most vulnerable while casting forbidden spells.
Beside Sein, Reina, Sia, and Beatrice exchanged glances before flying forward to intercept the Gallant Federation’s giant mobile suits.
To be safe, even as the waves of Sein’s forbidden spell spread across Cadillac, Fermera had already quietly come out from the Magic Cube.
Alongside Fermera, nearly a million angels appeared.
They quickly formed a specialized battle formation around Sein to protect him.
Even with Fermera and the angel robots providing him with extremely tight protection, Yuri—who seemed to feel her position had been threatened—did not join Reina and the others in battle.
Instead, piloting the Burning Flame Unit, she remained close to Sein and guarded him from nearby.
In truth, the Magus Civilization’s protection around Sein had been arranged with exceptional care.
Beyond these forces, several heavy-duty space fortresses also remained close to his position.
Inside one of those fortresses was a dragon turtle with absurdly high defensive power.
Although Sein had never personally tested Tourmaline’s limit in battle, based on his understanding of her and the formidable bloodline of her family, she should have been able to withstand attacks from Rank Five opponents so long as she focused entirely on defense.
