Desther wondered if the Skill: Sense in the reward was the same as what he was thinking.

He hoped so. Because it was only earlier that he realized he was truly lacking in terms of reconnaissance skill.

It would be best if the Skill: Sense, were truly what he expected it to be.

If not, then Desther felt that he should find another alternative for it. After all, he could not go on forever without having a reconnaissance skill or two of his own.

In the wilderness, being able to sense your surroundings in advance could very well be the defining moment between life and death.

Although his senses were heightened due to his extremely high attribute values, using a skill was still different compared to not using one.

Anyway, with another goal to strive for, Desther and Noah did not remain in the area any longer.

He was still lacking 0.01% of experience points to become a Tier 1, and he was still lacking 67 monsters to kill to finish his mission.

A few moments later, the two of them found a lone Demon Bunny.

Giving it a quick death, Desther was disappointed that it did not give any experience points. It gave him 3 Skill Fragments, though, so it was still good in the end.

The second monster they found along the way was three Ravenous Lizards. The same as the Demon Bunny, the three did not give out any experience points either. His Ravenous Lizard Skill Fragment was now at 26 with the additional 7 given by the three they just killed.

The next monster was actually a Devil Boar. Before, it was Desther who actively killed it since it was too strong for Noah.

This time, though, Noah decided to face it alone, and surprisingly enough, he actually managed to defeat it.

A moment before its death, Desther cast Theft Mark toward it to harvest some Free Attributes.

Unfortunately, there were still no experience points this time around.

’Unlucky...’ Desther muttered in disbelief.

’Hey, Chosen One Title, isn’t it the time that you work your luck for me? Ain’t I supposed to be a lucky person?’

This was the first time in a while that they did not receive any experience points after killing four monsters.

Before, killing one or two would actually give them experience points, no matter how small.

Walking even further ahead, they were now getting closer to the valley once more.

They soon found another lone monster in the distance.

The monster looked like a huge wolf. It has black fur and a distinct crescent-shaped moon pattern on its forehead.

From what Desther could recall, this monster was also called Moonlight Wolf.

This monster usually lives with a pack. Seeing it alone was a surprise to Desther.

As far as he knew, the leader of the Moonlight Wolf was called Full Moonlight Wolf. Its fur should be grayish-white, and unlike an ordinary Moonlight Wolf, its forehead will have a full moon pattern instead of a crescent one.

Moonlight Wolves levels were around 8 to 10, with their cubs mostly at level 5 and 7. Their leader, on the other hand, was known to be a peak Tier 0 Monster, some even said that a Tier 1 leader was not impossible.

"S-should we retreat?"

Noah asked nervously upon seeing the Moonlight Wolf in the distance.

Moonlight wolves were difficult to deal with due to their numbers. They also coordinate with each other very well, especially if their pack leader were present.

Even if they only saw one Moonlight Wolf as of this moment, who was to say that there were no more wolves around, just hiding from their view?

"Don’t worry. I can deal with it..."

Desther stated confidently. Even if the whole pack were here, Desther would still be able to give them a run for their money.

Noah smiled wryly upon hearing his words.

’Of course I know you can deal with it. I’m just worried about myself, you know? What if one of them comes toward me? I just recently leveled up to 6, how could I contend with multiple Moonlight Wolves charging toward me?’

He could only grumble inwardly, not daring to stop Desther.

As usual, he just decided to put all of his trust in him.

"Besides, it has already noticed us. Even if we don’t attack, it would still choose to attack us."

Known as being aggressive to creatures that were not part of the pact, the Moonlight Wolves were fierce and violent monsters.

As Desther said that, the Moonlight Wolf twitched its ears and turned its head toward their location.

AWOOOO!

A howl escaped its mouth as it charged toward them at extreme speed.

Whether it was just a battle cry or maybe it was calling its companion, Noah did not know.

All he knew was that the moment it charged toward them, Desther only threw his dagger toward it, and then the Moonlight Wolf’s body slid toward them lifelessly.

Blood gushed out of its chest as its bloodied body finally stopped right in front of their feet.

The Moonlight Wolf, known for being fierce and cold-blooded, could not even touch Desther’s feet.

The dagger went through, only stopping after it struck the tree like a dart in the distance.

Blood was still dripping on its handle, falling to the ground drop after drop.

Noah already felt numbed after seeing the scene.

’Why was I even worried again?’

"Good work!"

Desther muttered with a satisfied grin.

Finally, after five monsters, he finally earned enough experience points to level up to Tier 1.
