Chapter 116: Journey To The Farm

Desther once again gained some Free Attributes from their recent kills.

He did not receive any experience points this time around.

The two continued their journey back to the main base.

Along the way, they planned on harvesting the Ravenous Lizard that should have already been marinated enough.

The time continued to pass by as they resumed their journey. ๐“ฏ๐“ป๐’†๐™š๐’˜๐“ฎ๐™—๐“ท๐’๐“ฟ๐™š๐’.๐™˜๐“ธ๐™ข

When the two of them arrived near the dumping site, Desther immediately used the Sense skill to see the situation in the dumping site in advance.

And just as he had expected, there were now a lot of them gathered together to feast on the bodies that they had dumped a few days prior.

From his initial count, there should be a hundred or so Ravenous Lizards in the vicinity of his Sense alone.

As they grew closer, Desther sensed even more of them.

It was literally an army of a hundred Ravenous Lizards.

For normal Awakened Profesionals, even if they were already a Tie 1 just like him, they would surely run away in fright if they noticed such a scene alone.

As they say, a thousand ants could kill one single elephant.

No matter how powerful a Tier 1 Awakened Professional was, if they got swarmed by a hundred Tier 0 monsters, they would still die without question.

Fortunately, Desther was not exactly a normal Tier 1 Awakened Professionals.

At this moment, his thought was not even how to run or how to fight them. What he was thinking about was if these hundred or so Ravenous Lizards would be able to give him enough Skill Fragments to finally reach a 100.

Desther looked at Noah and said, "There should be about a hundred or so Ravenous Lizards in there."

He paused for a bit and observed Noahโ€™s reaction to that information.

And as expected, he saw Noah visibly pale in horror right in front of his eyes.

Knowing that he was scared, Desther did not give him any motivational words but instead told him the cold hard truth.

"You know, sooner or later, you will encounter something like this. Multiple enemies, charging at you all at once. The only difference is that this time, with me around, your safety could be guaranteed, but the same could not be said if you meet such a situation elsewhere."

Desther was basically telling him to take advantage of the situation and get used to such scenarios as soon as possible.

In the wild, controlled environments were not very common.

Surprises would always pop up, and the next thing you know, a threat was already upon you.

Noah seemed to have realized what he was pointing out.

The problem with him was that he was not exactly bright and brave. It could be said that he was also a go-with-the-flow type of person. The good thing about him, though, was that he was willing to learn and apply what he learned immediately.

"You know, boss, even Tier 1 Awakened Professionals would be afraid of such a setup. But, a-alright. Iโ€™ll come. But as usual, Iโ€™ll only stay in the periphery."

"Well, as you should."

Desther smiled upon hearing that.

He did not need him to really help him in any way. He just wanted him to become familiar with such a setup so that in the future, if he ever encountered such a situation, he would know what to do and how to react.

Having decided that, Desther and Noah immediately went to action.

Creeping closer toward the dumping site, the smell of rot began to assault their nose. This was definitely not a good environment for anyone. Even Noah felt like vomiting a few times as they moved even closer.

For Desther, it smelled even more awful due to his enhanced senses.

From the looks of it, not in all situations an enhancement would be beneficial.

Still, this was not the first time that he encountered such a stench. He lived through them before, so enduring such a stench was no longer new to him.

He did not try to console, either. One could always encounter this kind of environment in the wild.

It was all about adaptation.

A few moments later, the two finally arrived in the vicinity of the dumping site.

As soon as they did so, the Ravenous Lizards in the area immediately noticed their presence.

Letting out a shrill shriek, they immediately rushed toward Desther and Noah without hesitation.

This area has already been claimed by them as their new territory.

After all, it was full of food they would not be able to finish in a short time.

And seeing that someone had intruded upon their base, they did not sit idle and immediately turned hostile.

Noah shivered in fright while Desther dashed forward to meet them head-on.

His hands and feet were nimble and agile as he dodged each of their attacks.

At the same moment, he would also attack them with either his fist, a minuscule magic bullet, or even with his dagger. Each strike claims a Ravenous Lizardโ€™s life, and each Ravenous Lizardโ€™s life contributes to his Skill Fragments count.

He also purposely allowed a few of them to pass so that they could fight with Noah.

The commotion attracted more Ravenous Lizards. When they sensed the intruder, they would immediately go and attack with all their might.

Ravenous Lizards after Ravenous Lizards kept on charging toward him without caring for their lives.

Multiple of them had already fallen to the ground, and yet, they still continued to charge without hesitation.

Due to their overwhelming numbers, a few of them even managed to get a bite on Desther.

Fortunately, his current body did not take any sort of heavy damage from their attacks, thanks to the Supreme Body.

Noah was also experiencing the same. He had already sustained multiple wounds, and he was only facing fewer than ten Ravenous Lizards at a time, unlike Desther who faced triple that amount.

For Desther, the situation was still under control.

Just then a Ravenous Lizard that had climbed on a tree suddenly leapt toward Destherโ€™s face.

Desther turned his head upwards as he felt the gust of wind coming toward him from above.

Just as he was about to swat it away, a blur suddenly leapt out of nowhere and met the attacking Ravenous Lizard in midair.
