Chapter 75: Two Stalkers

The two stalkers were actually wearing masks to hide their identity.

However, the moment he saw them, Desther immediately recognized one of them as the waiter of that restaurant from earlier.

Although he was wearing a mask to hide his identity, this man seemed unaware that recognizing a person does not only mean recognizing their face.

For example, as he walked forward, Desther noticed the unnatural movement of his elbow. He was walking with his right elbow tucked in closer to his ribs than his left elbow.

This was supposed to be just an unconscious movement by the man. But for someone like Desther, this was tantamount to announcing his identity right off the bat.

Although his senses had also been enhanced due to his high attributes, Desther actually did not need to use such means to identify the person.

As for the reason why they were following him, it was already obvious enough with their current get-up.

Both were holding a knife, one played with it arrogantly as they walked toward Desther without a care.

To be honest, Desther did not want to waste his time with these two.

Although they seemed strong and were obviously Tier 1 Awakened Professionals, Desther was still confident enough to take them head-on.

"Why would a Tier 1 Awakened Professional like you become a waiter?"

The question uttered by Desther made the two men pause in their tracks.

They felt shivers down their spines as they did not expect the kid to actually talk to them that way.

And not only did he say it out loud with confidence, his words were actually fucking right.

"What are you talking about, kid?"

"Don’t talk any more nonsense. I’ll kill you if you dare," the other man said menacingly.

It seemed that he was not as patient, or probably not as scared, as the waiter beside him.

Desther sighed inwardly, not even bothering to argue back.

"Hand all of your belongings. This is a robbery. As long as you cooperate, you will not be hurt."

The moment the waiter spoke, Desther confirmed even more that it was indeed the same waiter.

He also vaguely guessed why the situation became like this.

From the looks of it, him spending some Awakened Credits on that restaurant triggered the two of them to come and rob him.

Thinking that he was just a normal teenager with a lot of money, they probably thought that he was easy to handle.

"If you turn back now, I will consider that this has not happened."

He does not want to make a move.

He could not kill them, and if he made a move, it would expose his strength a little.

He had just transferred into the neighborhood, he does not want strange rumors to surface about him at all.

"Hahaha. You’re actually very funny, kid. That made me laugh!" The other man laughed heartedly.

His aura then changed into something ominous. "Now, give me all of your belongings, or you’re dead!"

"AND I MEAN IT!"

At this point, the man had already taken a step forward.

Swaying his knife toward Desther threateningly.

Hearing his words, Desther could not help but sigh.

He truly disliked being threatened. It made him feel unsecure, and without control of the situation.

His eyes gazed at the two men calmly.

He had already said enough.

Worst-case scenario, he will just move place again.

That would be too much of a hassle, but he truly does not want to be the talk of the town.

’Considering that they are wearing masks... they would probably not speak of this encounter, right?’

As the thought formed inside his mind, a transparent Magic Bullet also condensed at the same time in front of him.

Adjusting his aim, the Magic Bullet was fired toward the man at swift speed.

He was not able to react before a force struck his thigh.

Desther’s aim was very precise. Hitting his bicep, tearing it off successfully but still allowing his arm to remain in place. The knife he was holding fell to the ground.

Another Magic Bullet was formed, and Desther aimed it toward the waiter.

The same as the other man, he also aimed for his shoulder, just hitting a small spot to make the entire arm immobile, but not completely obliterate it.

This should be enough to teach the two of them a lesson.

The two of them wailed in pain. Blood splattered around as they lay on the ground clutching their injured arms.

Desther approached as the two of them tried to get away.

"N-no! Don’t come any closer."

Terrorized by the situation, the man that has been threatening him since earlier actually cried.

As they backed up on the alley’s wall, Desther finally reached the two of them.

He squatted in front of them with enough distance in order for them not to reach him easily.

"Alright, you don’t have to say anything. I won’t pursue this matter either. Just don’t let me see you do this again, alright?"

The two of them nodded their heads vigorously.

Even though they only had an injured arm, the way they were injured was actually very terrifying in their opinion.

They did not even know what attacked them before they felt pain through their arm.

As they say, the most terrifying was the unknown. Consumed by fear, the two of them did not dare to meet Desther’s gaze at all.

Although an injured arm was a light price to pay for their deeds, Desther truly felt that it was only this way that things would not escalate further.

He stood up and prepared to leave.

As if recalling something, Desther paused and turned around to face them again.

Seeing this, the two men visibly flinched in fear.

"You know what? Let me put some trackers on you two. That way, the moment you do something like this, I will immediately know. Do not tell anyone else either, my skill is pretty terrifying, you know."
