Chapter 79: Journey To The West

When Desther turned to look, he realized that it was actually Noah.

Desther stopped and turned to look at Noah, who obviously had something to say to him.

Noah looked around for a bit. After seeing that no one paid attention to them, he closed in on Desther and stated, "It’s like this. As Teacher Rosa had said, we will be going to the wilderness for our next activity, right?"

Desther nodded his head in response.

Noah looked around once more before continuing, "By that time... can you possibly, you know, protect me or help me kill some monsters for experience points?"

Knowing what Desther was capable of, Noah could not think of anyone that would make his life easier in the wilderness.

Just as Desther was about to turn around and refuse the offer, Noah continued.

"I promise, it won’t be free. I can pay you!"

Hearing that word, Desther finally took some interest.

To be honest, babysitting Noah at that time would not be too hard for me. He was also about to reach Level 10, and by killing some monsters, he would only get stronger.

The money that he got might be enough for now, but sooner or later, it would dry up.

Not to mention, he planned to buy some gears like storage bags for his future hunts as well. And those things do not come in cheap.

Lowering his voice, Desther asked, "How much?"

Hearing that, Noah’s obviously lit up.

"Uhm... How about Ten Thousand Awakened Credits?"

Desther was only rewarded with 2500 Awakened Credits after he completed the title’s mission. 10,000 Awakened Credits was four times that amount. That was definitely a good offer.

"And all the spoils will all be yours. Our supply... I’ll handle it too. What do you think?"

Now, Desther thought even more that there was no reason to refuse.

"Alright, deal. But you follow all my orders once we’re there."

Noah grinned in victory after hearing his answer. With this, he would definitely be safer and, at the same time, be able to kill monsters more safely.

"Yes, boss!"

"Alright don’t call me that. Just call me Desther as usual."

He turned around and prepared to leave and then recalled something.

"Your family doesn’t happen to own a lot of firearms and ammunition, do you?"

"Ahh? We do? I guess? Why do you want me to bring some?" Noah scratched his cheek upon hearing his question, not truly knowing what to answer.

For one, he was not good at using firearms, and second, although they indeed had a lot of them at home, his father would not allow him to bring them all at once.

Desther thought for a bit before saying, "Add me in Professional Tube, I’ll tell you the details."

Saying that, Desther took out his phone and pulled up his Professional Tube username.

Noah did not decline and hurriedly whipped out his phone as well.

As he typed Desther’s username, he was surprised to realize that he was actually following Desther’s account. He did not recall following it at all.

Just when he tried to recall when this happened, his eyes could not help but widen as a realization struck him.

"Shit! Oh shit! Oh shit!"

His eyes alternated between the username and then at Desther back and forth.

"What?"

"N-no, nothing!" Noah hurriedly zipped his mouth.

Recently, Lexie has followed another account aside from the usual one she just follows.

It was the talk of the entire comment section, as well as the talk of the school and their classmates.

In the comment section, it was circulated that the account owner must be Lexie’s hidden boyfriend.

Unfortunately, aside from the username that was clearly just random letters, they do not have any information regarding Lexie’s alleged boyfriend.

The owner’s mysterious identity struck the curiosity of everyone. It was to the point that they had begun to follow the account, just to be the first to get updated if ever a new discovery was found.

What he just discovered was something that could not be easily talked about.

He knew Desther was just low-key and didn’t want to stand out, but this was just too phenomenal even for him.

It was rumored that the owner of the account followed by Lexie should be his boyfriend. After all, she had never followed anyone before aside from the first account, which was also supposed to be her older sister.

The moment Noah realized that the owner of the account ’asdfme123’ was actually Desther, he seemed to connect some imaginary dots inside his head.

Unfortunately, he could not share such a discovery with everyone; else, he would risk getting the ire of not only Lexie but also Desther.

Desther looked at him with a suspicious gaze.

Stuttering was surely the best hint that something was up.

He did not sense any malice from him, though, so he did not think too much about it.

After exchanging Professional Tube usernames, the two of them separated and continued their conversation online.

...

The next day, the class arrived in the parking space to ride the electric bus.

Glancing around, Desther and the others finally realized that they were not the only class to have this kind of activity.

There were a total of ten sections of their grade at Radiant Dawn College. Two of them were assigned to Lifestyle Professionals, while the remaining eight all chose Combat Professionals as their specializations.

There were no rankings in between them; all were enrolled and grouped at random.

Now that they had awakened their talents, though, the debate on who was the stronger section would have surely begun.

After boarding, a total of eight buses headed toward the west of the shelter. They were stopped at the massive walls, but after showing their Professional Badges and some permit, they were allowed to pass.

It was a standard procedure that everyone must abide by.

This was to prevent those Unawakened humans from going out and also to record the Awakened Professional that goes in and out of the shelter.

The wilderness chosen by Teacher Rosa was not that far from the shelter.

It was located five kilometers away from Radiant Shelter and was now called Veldora Woods.

It was specially selected due to the monsters here all being Tier 0 and with no boss entity present.

Still, caution must be exercised, as some may have hidden from the professional’s initial surveillance.

The moment they arrived at the chosen base, everyone disembarked from the buses and gathered in front of a wooden podium.
