SSS Awakening: Starting With Infinite Soul Copy
Chapter 110: What Am I?
"And what if they do, King Wallace?"
Viktor replied.
"What if they honor their words?"
"Do you want your survival to be based on the hope that one day they don’t wake up and decide to go against their own words?"
He asked as the blue-haired King’s next words froze on his lips.
"Besides, you and I know the reason why they don’t ’reek’ of disloyalty right now, don’t we?"
"Once they’ve rid Earth of Humanity, and we are all that’s left, are you sure they can still keep up that loyalty of theirs?"
"So, what you’re offering now is to betray the alliance. Is that the summary of your points?"
King Wallace asked.
"The summary of my point is opening your eyes to see that we could partake in a much larger chaos for a more fruitful end than the obvious doom prepared for us by the Supernaturals."
With that, Viktor’s hand reached to the side, and he pulled as the barrier began to ripple.
"Mark my words, King Wallace, whether you choose to follow my plan or not, you will see the Supernaturals carry out this same plan of mine."
"They will reduce us to nothing but guinea pigs in the war, pushing us to the front of Humanity so Humanity can get rid of us, reducing our numbers and achieving their aim of remaining the sole group standing at the end of this."
"Do me a favor and keep that at the back of your mind when they begin to give you their harmless, loyal orders."
He said with a smirk as the barrier completely faded away.
"But for now," Viktor said, pouring himself another cup.
"If all we’re about is simply basking in chaos, then you may as well count me in. Even that will still be some fun, better than the darkness, won’t it?"
He said, rising to his feet with the drink in his cup.
"King Kaedal."
Viktor greeted, tilting his cup as the brown-haired King also raised his cup, and both watched as Viktor stepped up, mixing in with the crowds of Supernaturals and Otherworlders.
"I like him."
"I hate him."
Both words came out at the same time, and both Kings turned to each other with raised eyebrows.
"Don’t tell me this bitterness of yours is all just because he asked for Jytha to get off the table? Remember, we only allowed her in just to add one more number to us in the first place?"
King Kaedal asked.
"Please, King Wallace, don’t believe his love nonsense. I don’t care about Jytha."
"Really?"
King Kaedal asked with a smirk.
"Can you say that in front of her then?"
He asked as both watched the crimson-haired lady storming toward them.
___________
"You can take over now."
Viktor’s voice echoed as his eyes closed.
The dark tears from his eyes began to recede as his eyes closed.
Silence settled for a while before the eyes reopened.
White gripped his hands, folding and unfolding them.
This feeling of getting in and out of control of his own body, he could never get used to, but at least the shock was less this time.
"Let me guess," White said, turning to the cup Viktor had placed on the table and taking a seat before it.
"Your last fusion was with a trickster of some sort?"
"How’d you know?"
Viktor’s voice echoed in his head.
"I mean, isn’t it obvious?"
"Planting distrust, gaining loyalty slowly, and then using it to destroy them. All of it sounded like something a trickster would do."
He spoke.
"You’re right. She was a fox. A seven-tailed fox, from being a beast slave to being the leader of a planet where beasts are nothing but a second, lowly life creature."
Viktor recounted
"I used to look down on her cunning, too, her ways of always taking her time and waiting for things to fall in place."
"It was against my philosophy, but all through her life I was able to learn that intelligence and cunning were powers of their own."
All of a sudden,
BOOOOOOM!
White felt a heavy reverberation beneath his feet as the tables at the side tilted violently toward him, but he stopped them with Limitless Interval.
All of the Supernaturals and Otherworlders paused, wondering the reason for the collision.
Not long after, the announcement rang out.
"This is coming from the Defense Pilot Team. It seems like the Humans have caught wind of the news of one of their academies’ destructions and came for revenge."
"But do not worry. They all will be wiped out very soon."
The voice said through the hall as White stirred the red liquid in his hands, his eyes turning to the Supernaturals who resumed their chattering and laughter.
’What am I doing?’
The thought quietly came to White’s mind as he glanced at them.
’They... the enemies who slaughtered five billion of Humanity, chatting happily and leisurely, drinking human blood and eating human meat even as another human group outside are just about to be destroyed.’
’And what am I doing to all that?’
’Sitting down here, sipping the juice they offered me, and watching.’
’Watching all of it happen, like a toddler unable to get off his back."
"Even with all of this power, all of these levels up and ability upgrades, when finally encountering the Supernaturals for the first time, this is the best I can do?’
’Pretend like I’m on their side.’
’What am I even?’
’Human, or Supernatural, or an Otherworlder?
’Can I be called human, based on the actions I’m taking right here and now?’ 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Turning his eyes away, he looked at the blood-red juice in the cup, watching as its surface rippled occasionally, the ripples formed from the explosions that were ongoing outside, tuned down by technologies on this plane.
’There’s a war going on right now. What should I do?’
White asked himself, observing the ripples that grew more and more on the liquid’s surface.
"No, Viktor..."
