"You think you don’t deserve the help that you’ve been given?"

The Commander at the lead table asked before signaling to the woman amongst them.

In her palms, holographic panels appeared, and she swiped down, sending them flying towards White within the Orb.

"All of those faces you see were those who survived your black hole explosion on the ship but were weakened enough to be captured by us."

"They rank among the highest within the Supernatural Forces, and through techniques such as Memory Readings and Existence Searches performed by our finest Awakeners, we have uncovered some of their secret plans to destroy us."

"This includes, but is not limited to, the information that five more schools were to be destroyed by the Supernaturals, just like they did to Aether Beyonder Academy."

"That alone in itself holds an estimated casualty rate that should range at a minimum of twenty-seven thousand humans, all of which has now been thwarted, reducing damage to almost zero while doubling the damage back to the Supernaturals."

The Commander explained, continuing.

"Besides, by capturing one of the Otherworlder Kings aboard the ship, King Wallace, and subjecting him to a soul-search, we uncovered the scheme through which they intended to summon more Otherworlders and corrupt them, a scheme that required the sovereign command of an Otherworlder King to succeed."

"All of the Kings have been slain, ending what might have become Humanity’s battle against a second Supernatural Group."

"And without your Limitless Collapse, that blew into the mothership from within, completely catching even the Supernaturals by surprise, all of those sent to avenge Aether Beyonder Academy’s destruction would have been destroyed."

"You didn’t just save hundreds of thousands of lives; you saved us from having to begin another Supernatural War."

"So do not think for once that you’re undeserving. Your actions have had more positive effects than you could imagine."

He completed, as White folded the panels together, sending them up.

’I’m glad they slaughtered those bastard Kings...’

He thought, a smirk appearing on the corner of his lips.

But then, there was a problem.

If he existed in soul form inside this Orb and his body was destroyed, then what was the plan?

Was he now doomed to remain stuck in the Orb forever?

"By the expression on your face..."

The lead Commander said.

"I can guess you’re thinking what will become of the fate of your soul, right?"

He asked, and White nodded, asking

"If my body is destroyed, then doesn’t that mean I’ll be stuck in here forever?"

"That question we began to consider exactly two months ago, when we were told that your soul would survive."

"And we came up with a couple of solutions."

He said, and White listened expectantly.

"At first, we thought of the simplest and easiest choice, simply reengineering a new body with Bio-Fusion to create an imitation, but... that failed woefully."

"Because of how badly damaged your old body was, with fully corrupted cells, anything reengineered from it was as good as nothing."

"Not only would you be weak physically, but our assessment also shows your cultivation speed and power would be massively reduced to a fraction of what your original body was capable of."

"It wouldn’t be an upgrade, but a massive downgrade."

"So, reengineering a new body was out of the question."

He said, and White’s expression unconsciously plummeted.

"That led us to the next choice, Robotics."

"Robotics?"

"Essentially making you a robot body."

"Not just any robot body, we would make you into a weapon of mass destruction, but there was a problem."

"Those blue lightning-like energies of yours that your soul gained from the Orb, reacted violently with technological circuits."

He explained.

"Even having you simply close to technology would lead to the entire circuitry, no matter how advanced, instantly blowing up, talk less of bringing you inside one."

"So Robotics was also out of the way."

"With those two gone, we only have one more choice."

The lead Commander said before turning to another Commander.

A green-haired Commander wearing spectacles, and he continued.

"Just like we fused you with an Ancient Soul Artifact, the Orb you’re in..."

The Commander said.

"We also thought to fuse you with another Ancient Artifact, and this time it is not an Orb..."

He said, and at first White was confused, but then it occurred to him as his eyes widened.

"We plan to fuse you with an Ancient Alien Body."

"An Alien Body!?"

"Yes. It’s a body gotten from the same place that the Orb you fused with was taken from."

"That’s the closest thing that can hold your new soul without it shutting down immediately."

"This body has been dead for, according to our technologies, more than five centuries, which in layman’s terms is five hundred years." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

"Just like the Orb, very little is known about it, and we have never tried to fuse a consciousness with it before."

"Why not? I mean, for the Orb, you’ve tried to fuse souls with it, though none survived."

"Why did you never try for the body?"

White asked, as the Commander tilted his glasses.

"Well, you see, the Orb looks harmless. Look at you, looking trapped in there."

"In a way, it’s a bit more comforting knowing you’re just the size of that..."

"Commander Longhuan! Please focus!"

The lead Commander ordered as the man retitled his glasses.

"What I mean to say is, compared to the body, the Orb looks more harmless."

"Like..."

He tried to explain further, but White already got it.

"You’re less scared of the Orb awakening than the body awakening."

"Like you don’t want whatever that body looks like to open its eyes?"

White completed, and the man nodded, admitting,

"Yes. The body looks... terrifying."

"We won’t force you into this, White, nor will we try to hasten you into it."

The lead Commander continued.

"It’s already bad enough that we allowed your soul to fuse with that Orb, not even knowing what it’s capable of."

"The last thing we’ll want next is to combine you with a monster half a thousand years old."

"So all we’ll do is give you the image of the body, for you to make your choice."

He said as panels rained down onto the Orb.

"If your answer is no, then we won’t bother, and simply try to think of a fourth way, no matter how much time it takes."

He said, and in the next moment, White watched all five rise and leave the room.

That left just him alone in the Orb, before him a floating panel depicting the body he ought to fuse with.

Curiosity got the best of him, and he looked at it, but the sight made his breath catch in his throat as he unconsciously shifted back in shock.

"What the!?"
