Boom!

Slash!

The blows came one after another at a frantic speed, the ground shook violently, and dust flew, forming a thick cloud. Within a short time, a large part of the nest was leveled to the ground.

The Calamity Spider repaired the many cracks that had appeared on her white armor, then jumped hundreds of meters backwards. While in the air, she formed several massive spears, and launched them at Carlos.

Carlos took a step forward, and swung his axe, or rather, his body projection did that. It shattered the spears that were about to hit him, while the rest deflected and fell far from him.

The winds exploded from his tremendous strength, and the dust cloud around them dissipated. At that moment, Willard appeared, who had been lurking nearby.

Given his great mastery of concealment, and the Calamity Spider’s senses being affected by the dissonance poison, she had not detected his presence, and he had made good use of this.

He was aware that she had a superhuman sense of danger, so he did not attack randomly. He waited for the right opportunity, and when it came, he jumped high, and pounced on her from the sky like a swooping falcon.

A split second earlier, Carlos had surged toward her, which distracted her further. Their massive bodies collided, and they exchanged blows savagely.

"Oh, no."

Suddenly, she felt imminent danger. She wanted to evade, but Carlos grabbed her, or more precisely, embraced her tightly.

"Oh, yes." He smiled cunningly, and held her firmly in place.

There was no escape, and she did not have enough time to defend herself. Willard landed on her back, and stabbed her with his sword.

The sword sank to the hilt. Then, in the next moment, a beam of concentrated energy emanated from it, it pierced her body with ease, like a hot knife cutting through butter.

It emerged from her abdomen, and did not stop and dissipate until it had dug a hole twenty-five meters deep in the ground.

"Ugh." The spider screamed. Some of her organs, and a great deal of her dark blue blood, fell from the massive hole in her body.

Willard did not find enough time to celebrate the success of his attack, as a silk thread wrapped around his leg, and pulled him hard, slamming him against the ground, which made him feel dizzy, then flung him far away.

He flew uncontrollably for a distance exceeding a mile. In the air, he regained his clarity, adjusted his position, and tried to land safely, but failed, and ended up crashing into dozens of trees.

"Damn."

Carlos stared at his companion, who had disappeared on the horizon. He felt a foreboding of doom, and poured more strength into his projection.

Two additional arms grew on his projection, and before he could use them, a large number of torn silk threads scattered all around them extended, and grabbed him.

Some hardened, and turned into shackles that restricted his movement, while some pulled his limbs, and slowly, the Calamity Spider freed herself from his tight embrace.

"No, you will not escape." He resisted desperately, and did not let her slip from his grip. He was in dire need of keeping her still, for their primary objective was not to kill her, but to capture her alive.

Thanks to the devastating power of their skills, a large portion of the dissonance poison permeating the air was dispersed, allowing the Calamity Spider to regain a measure of control over her nest.

She gritted her teeth, and healed herself quickly, while the rest of the humans were absent. Remarkably, her flesh and organs regenerated, and within two seconds the massive hole in her body disappeared.

"Die, human." She bit the projection, and again injected it with her poison. At the same time, she kicked him, and moved violently. She did everything she could to break free.

Inside the projection, Carlos sweated profusely, and his breathing became very erratic, then suddenly, the projection fluctuated, and the two additional arms dissipated. It had been difficult to maintain them from the start.

’Damn, I cannot continue.’ Anxiety overtook him, and as he had expected, the spider shattered one of his hands, and broke free. She stood on her four hind legs, and kicked him with her front legs.

His body was thrown dozens of meters backwards, dragging the soil. And before he could regain his balance, she attacked him with several spears.

Bang!

The numerous spears stabbed the projection, and given that it had become weaker, they managed to penetrate it. Carlos changed his position, and by some miracle dodged a spear that nearly hit him.

Crack!

The projection cracked as though it were made of glass, then shattered completely. Carlos fell to the ground, and with difficulty stayed standing.

’Damn it, I’m screwed.’ The Calamity Spider surged toward him like a raging bull. He tightened his grip on his axe, and prepared to fight for his life.

But, Alvin suddenly appeared beside him, grabbed him by the shoulder, and threw him backwards, then swung his sword, releasing a sharp blade of energy, then a second, and a third.

The spider dodged the first blade, and the second, while the third cut part of her leg. She launched some spears at him, but he dodged them. Within a short time, she reached him, and tried to trample him.

He evaded her with ease, and circled around her massive body, then released a massive blade targeting her legs.

She formed a shield of hardened silk quickly, and barely blocked the attack. Alvin did not stop, changed his position, and released more blades. This was his main form of attack.

The spider defended herself. She wanted to counter-attack, but his fast and unpredictable movements prevented her from doing so. He was like an annoying mosquito.

Selene appeared nearby, directed her glowing staff toward the spider, and shouted: "Alvin, move aside."

Alvin fled immediately, and from high in the sky, hundreds of fireballs fell like meteors.

"No." The spider raised her front legs, and formed three massive white barriers above herself.

Whoosh!

Boom!

The fireballs crashed into the massive barriers, detonating with terrifying force and releasing waves of scorching flames.

The explosions came one after another, and the first barrier shattered, then the second, and in the end the third shattered. The remaining fireballs fell directly on the ground, turning the place into hell.

Selene took a deep breath, then let out a long exhale. She watched the burning area with extreme caution, and searched for the Calamity Spider, and Alvin did the same, while Carlos greedily drank Mana potions to restore his mana.

Suddenly, a human figure burst from within the flames. In a single second, she reached Selene and stood before her like a towering mountain. She clenched her fist and threw a punch.

"No." Alvin shouted, and surged toward Selene at his maximum speed as well.

"Hah!?" Selene gasped loudly, her eyes widened, and she stared at the extremely beautiful human woman who had appeared before her, who, unfortunately for her, was none other than the Calamity Spider herself.

Time seemed to slow for Selene. She saw everything with extreme clarity: the spider woman smiling wickedly, and her companion Alvin running toward them desperately.

He was very fast, but not fast enough to arrive in time.

Everything happened at a frantic speed. She did not even have the chance to comprehend what had happened, let alone defend herself.

At the last moment, before the punch hit her in the face, several strange symbols glowed on her forehead, then her body was surrounded by several layers of barriers with various effects. This was her last defense, and her only hope of survival.

Bang!

The devastating punch hit her in the face, the barriers shattered one after another, then she was thrown hundreds of meters away, shattering the trees along the way with her body.

Whoosh!

A violent shockwave spread. The spider woman’s hair danced, and before she could pull back her fist, Alvin appeared beside her with an intense killing intent emanating from him.

He swung his sword, and cut her arm, then redirected the sword toward her leg.

She took a step back, the ground beneath her exploded, and she retreated hundreds of meters in the blink of an eye.

Alvin chased her, avoiding looking into her eyes. He swung his sword several times, and released a volley of energy blades at her.

Since she was in human form, her agility increased greatly, and in exchange her strength decreased. She dodged the blades, regenerated her arm, then released a volley of small spears as a counter-attack.
