Chapter 137: [] : Instant Deletion, The Purge General
The system AI was clearly panicking.
Declan had just spent ten solid minutes completely clogging up the North Gate breach with the dissolving blue pixels of dead Void beasts. He was killing them significantly faster than the game’s spawner could generate them.
His Origin Point balance had easily crossed the two million mark, and he wasn’t even breaking a sweat. His stamina bar was still sitting at a very comfortable eighty percent.
The server really did not like that. The Server Wipe Protocol was strictly designed to be an absolute and unwinnable scenario meant to purge the sector. It was not designed to be a highly lucrative farming spot for a single player.
Deep within the churning red clouds above the city, the system forced a hard administrative override.
A massive pillar of dark purple lightning crashed down into the mud just fifty yards away from where Declan was swinging his halberd. The sheer concussive force of the lightning strike pushed the remaining low-level Void beasts back and cleared a massive circle in the dirt.
When the thick purple smoke cleared, a towering and heavily armored nightmare stood in the mud.
It was easily fifteen feet tall. It wore incredibly thick and jagged black iron plates that pulsed with a toxic green light. It did not have hands. Instead of fingers, it had two massive and glowing red plasma cannons built directly into its forearms.
A bright golden system tag popped up over its featureless helmet.
[Target Information]
↳ Name: System Purge General
↳ Level: 85
↳ Status: Elite Command Unit
"Another one?" Declan sighed.
He rested the heavy shaft of the +40 Eclipse Severance on his shoulder and wiped a stray drop of digital blood off his cheek. He looked completely unimpressed.
"The developers really need to program more boss models," Declan complained out loud. "This is just lazy asset flipping. They literally just took the Goliath Mech model and painted it black."
The new Purge General did not roar. It did not make an angry monster noise to intimidate him. It simply raised its massive plasma cannons and aimed them directly at the Warlord’s chest.
At the exact same time, thousands of Elite-tier Void beasts crawled out of the mud behind the boss to form a dense and heavily armored phalanx. They were linking their shields together to prepare to march forward.
The system was going to try and overwhelm him with sheer volume and heavy artillery fire.
Declan looked at the massive army. He looked at the glowing red plasma cannons charging up for a lethal shot. He looked at his own massive health pool.
He could easily just stand there and tank the plasma blasts with his Absolute Reflection wall. He could slowly chop them all to pieces with his halberd. But that was going to take way too much time. And he still had three other city gates to clear out.
"I’m bored of manual labor," Declan muttered.
He did not charge forward. He did not pull out a defensive item. He just planted his heavy +10 Spiked Striders firmly into the stone pavement of the courtyard.
He gripped the dark matter shaft of his halberd with both hands and raised it high above his head. He tapped into his massive Ascendant-tier mana pool.
He pulled from the millions of points of digital blood-energy he had accumulated from his mutated Sanguine Engine heart over the last ten minutes of fighting. He forced all that raw and highly volatile energy directly into the tiny black hole spinning in the center of his axe head.
"Event Horizon Annihilation," Declan said smoothly.
He brought the weapon down and smashed the blunt edge directly into the ground in front of him.
The ground did not crack. There was no fiery explosion. There was no loud booming sound.
The air directly in front of the Level 85 Purge General violently distorted. The physical space ripped inward on itself and created a massive localized gravitational singularity.
It was a literal and physics-breaking black hole sitting right in the middle of the monster army!
The sound of the toxic rain and the humming plasma cannons completely vanished. Everything was sucked entirely into the void. The light around the area bent and warped, plunging the battlefield into an unnatural and suffocating darkness.
Then the pulling force hit.
It was absolute and inescapable chaos. The singularity grabbed everything within a massive one-hundred-meter radius.
The Level 85 Purge General immediately dug its heavy iron boots into the mud. Its internal engine whined loudly as it desperately tried to put itself in reverse and back away from the pull.
It was completely useless. The gravitational force ripped the mud, the rocks, and the boss right off the ground.
Thousands of Elite Void beasts were yanked into the air simultaneously. They shrieked in distorted and static-filled terror as they flew helplessly toward the center of the black hole.
They crashed violently into the Purge General. The massive boss and its heavily armored army were violently compressed together into a tight and spinning ball of scrap metal, digital blood, and corrupted dark matter.
The system rapidly threw up error codes. It desperately tried to calculate the physical damage of ten thousand entities occupying the exact same coordinate space.
But Declan’s fused skill did not just deal damage. It had an execution threshold. Anything pulled into the event horizon that possessed less than thirty percent of its maximum health was instantly and permanently deleted from the server.
And the sheer and absurd crushing force of the gravity well brought every single monster in that ball to the threshold in a fraction of a millisecond.
The singularity reached its maximum capacity. Then it collapsed.
The compressed ball of monsters did not explode outward. It did not rain blood on the city. It just instantly ceased to exist.
The dark space cleared to leave behind a perfectly smooth and completely empty crater in the mud. The Level 85 Purge General and thousands of elites were gone in a single and devastating move.
[Multiple Enemies Defeated!]
↳ Origin Points +350,000
Declan casually rested the halberd back on his shoulder. He walked over to the edge of the massive crater.
Sitting perfectly clean in the center of the destruction right where the boss had been deleted was a small pile of high-tier loot.
Declan jumped down into the smooth dirt and picked up a glowing blue data drive.
[Item Retrieved: Orbital Kinetic Strike]
↳ Tier: Ascendant Skill Book
↳ Description: Consume 1,000 Mana to call down a localized orbital bombardment from the server’s upper atmosphere. Deals massive area-of-effect physical damage that completely ignores standard terrain durability.
"I’ll definitely take that," Declan smiled. He slapped the blue drive against his chest and instantly downloaded the massive code file into his neural link.
He looked down again. Next to where the book had been was a large and pulsing green crystal. It was the Purge General’s core.
Declan picked it up. He looked up at the black iron wall of the Iron Bastion. Commander Richter was staring down at him. The man’s mouth was hanging completely open and entirely frozen in shock.
Declan casually tossed the massive green core fifty feet into the air. It sailed in a perfect arc and landed directly at Richter’s heavy boots with a loud thud.
"Mount that on the wall," Declan ordered loudly. "Let the rest of the server know exactly who owns this city."
He did not wait for Richter to salute or say thank you. He tapped his system interface and checked the city map.
The North Gate was completely clear of red dots, but the warning lights were flashing heavily on the West and South borders.
"Time to clean the rest of the house," Declan said and cracked his knuckles.
"Void Blink."
The world went pitch black, and the Warlord vanished from the crater.
