Started with a 10,000x Multiplier in a Game World
Chapter 44: The World Trembles
The silence only lasted for three seconds.
Then, the system reacted to what had just occurred.
It didn’t issue a standard localized prompt. It didn’t trigger the golden text of a World Boss kill.
The sky tore open.
A blinding and celestial light flooded the entire server.
Every single player currently logged into Overture, regardless of their location, was forced to look up.
A localized earthquake physically rattled the ground in every single safe zone, dungeon, and capital city on the map.
A sound like a thousand ringing bells echoed across the world.
[CRITICAL SERVER ANNOUNCEMENT]
[The Annihilation-Tier Calamity ’Cerberus Void-Dragon’ has been slain.]
[The Void-Blight corruption has been purged.]
[First Kill Secured by Player: Dan]
[Server Milestone Reached. Rewarding 50,000 Global Fame. Rewarding Mythic-Tier Loot Cache.]
The announcement didn’t fade away after ten seconds.
It locked itself into the sky. It hovered in massive and burning white letters and demanded that every single entity on Veridia acknowledge it.

Inside the Vanguard’s Legacy guildhall, Silas was standing on his balcony. He gripped the marble railing so hard his knuckles were bleeding.
He stared up at the sky. He read the name.
Dan.
"No," Silas whispered. His voice trembled violently. "No, no, no. That is impossible."
The heavy oak doors of the war room burst open behind him.
His lieutenants poured in. Their faces were pale, and their eyes were wide with absolute and unfiltered terror.
"Guild Master!" one of the officers screamed and held up a shaking datapad.
"It is an Annihilation-Tier! The system is not supposed to spawn those until cycle year three! He soloed a server-wipe mechanic!"
Silas didn’t turn around. He couldn’t tear his eyes away from the sky.
Annihilation-Tier entities required alliances.
They required nations to pool their resources, coordinate thousands of max-level players, and spend weeks grinding specialized gear just to survive the initial engagement.
Dan had killed it on day one.
"Sir, the Sakura Nation is mobilizing," another officer yelled and frantically swiped through his interface.
"The Black Dragon Syndicate just pulled their entire roster back to their capital. The Apex Coalition in Oakhaven just declared a state of emergency!"
"They think Dan is a developer! They think he is a system admin purging the server!"
"He is not an admin," Silas breathed. His voice cracked.
He knew exactly who Dan was. He had driven a dagger through his heart.
Silas looked down at his own hands. They were shaking uncontrollably.
The [Aegis Blueprint] sitting on the velvet cushion in his war room suddenly felt entirely worthless.
What good was a Supreme artifact if the guy he stole it from was casually executing gods in the starter zone?
"Cancel the bounties," Silas ordered. His voice was hollow.
The officers froze. "Sir?"
"I said cancel the bounties!" Silas roared and spun around. His face twisted in absolute panic.
"Pull every single Vanguard’s Legacy member out of the field! I want everyone inside the safe zones!"
"If anyone engages him, I will personally zero their accounts! Do not let him find us!"

Back in the sky above Outpost 404, Dante was currently experiencing his own system overload.
The sheer volume of experience points generated by an Annihilation-Tier kill completely broke his progression bar. It was compounded by the 200% Void-Blight event modifier.
[Level Up!]
[Level Up!]
[Level Up!]
[Level Up!]
The blue text spammed his vision faster than he could read it. His avatar glowed with continuous bursts of level-up light.
He had started the fight at Level 28. He watched the numbers blur. Level 35. Level 40.
The notifications finally stopped.
[Current Level: 45]
Dante let out a slow breath. He was Level 45.
The average player population was currently hovering around Level 6.
He was so far ahead of the scaling curve that he was essentially playing a different game.
He initiated a controlled and rapid descent. He chained [Blink Step] until he landed softly on the rocky ridge outside the Outpost walls.
Casanova was still hiding behind the boulder.
The bard slowly peaked his head out. His feathered hat was completely missing, and his silk shirt was in tatters.
He looked at Dante. He looked up at the empty sky.
"Boss," Casanova whispered. His voice trembled. "Did you... did you just poke a dragon to death?"
"I executed it," Dante corrected casually.
Before Casanova could ask how the math on that worked, a massive surge of cosmic energy erupted right next to the shoulder of Dante.
Aura materialized. But she wasn’t just floating happily.
The tiny Aether Sprite was glowing with a blinding and intense silver light.
The residual dark matter and cosmic energy left behind by the death of the Void-Dragon was actively funneling into her tiny digital body.
[Pet: Aura is absorbing Annihilation-Tier residual energy.]
[Evolution Sequence Initiated.]
The form of Aura expanded slightly. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Her three starlight tails grew longer. They wove complex geometric patterns of light in the air behind her.
Her glowing eyes deepened into a profound and piercing silver.
The cosmic weight radiating from her tiny form spiked. It pushed Casanova physically backward into the dirt.
[Evolution Complete.]
[Pet: Aura has reached Grade 8.]
[New Innate Abilities Unlocked.]
Dante immediately pulled up her stat sheet.
Grade 7 was already broken. He couldn’t fathom what a Grade 8 pet possessed.
[Skill 4: Aegis of the Harbinger (Active)]
[Description: Aura projects a localized and reality-bending shield over the Master. Grants absolute invulnerability for exactly 3 seconds. The shield cannot be pierced, shattered, or bypassed by any mechanic, spell, or Annihilation-tier attack. Cooldown: 1 Hour.]
The eyes of Dante widened. It was a portable and on-demand [Aether Scroll].
Three seconds of complete immunity.
In a game governed by frame-perfect parries, three seconds of invulnerability was an eternity.
It meant he could freely swing Voidsever without fear of a counterattack or completely ignore the ultimate wipe mechanic of a boss.
He scrolled to the final newly unlocked skill.
[Skill 5: Aura of Dominion (Passive/Active)]
[Description: Projects a massive 100-foot domain of cosmic authority. All allied entities within the domain receive a flat +50% boost to all base stats and infinite stamina regeneration. All hostile entities within the domain suffer a 50% reduction to movement speed and attack speed. Cooldown: 12 Hours.]
Dante closed the interface.
He looked at the tiny silver fox floating gracefully by his shoulder.
She wasn’t just a healer anymore. She was a walking field advantage.
She could dictate the terms of any engagement just by existing.
"You are absolutely ridiculous," Dante said softly.
Aura let out a loud and proud chime. She completed a rapid loop-the-loop in the air before settling comfortably onto his armored shoulder.
"Boss," Casanova stammered and pulled himself up from the dirt. He pointed a trembling finger toward the Outpost gates. "I think you have visitors."
Dante turned around.
The horde of mutated monsters was gone. It was purged by the death of the dragon.
In their place, thousands of players were slowly walking out of the Outpost gates.
They weren’t holding their weapons. They were staring up at the rocky ridge.
At the front of the massive crowd stood the Blade-Saint and Lady Vespera.
The two god-tier Guardians walked forward and stopped at the base of the ridge. They didn’t speak.
In perfect synchronization, the Blade-Saint drove his celestial greatsword into the dirt and took a knee.
Lady Vespera folded her massive wings of phoenix-fire and bowed her head deeply.
Behind them, thousands of players followed suit. They dropped to their knees in absolute and stunned reverence.
Dante stood on the ridge. The Gold-tier armor gleamed. He looked down at the server he had just saved.
