Starting at Hogwarts, Logging into Elden Ring
Chapter 304: An Unusual Way of Calling Someone Out, and Voldemort’s Confidence
While everyone chatted casually, the flying car continued moving forward through the skies.
The journey to locate Voldemort turned out to be far shorter than Arthur had expected.
Because through the car window—
he suddenly saw a familiar house.
An old, decaying mansion stood in the distance, and nailed onto its front door was an S-shaped dead snake—
the symbol of the Slytherin pure-blood line.
It was none other than the Gaunt House.
The very same place Arthur had visited once before.
The moment he saw the mansion, Arthur immediately realized—
this was Voldemort’s base.
What surprised him was just how bold Voldemort truly was.
He had actually established his headquarters here openly, without fear of Ministry investigation.
Then again...
Voldemort had never once taken the Ministry seriously.
The flying car descended smoothly from the sky and landed in front of the Gaunt House.
Arthur said casually,
"We’ve arrived."
"Get out."
Everyone stepped out of the vehicle.
Meanwhile, Harry found himself thinking:
Arthur’s flying car is so stable...
Should I ask him to modify Ron’s family car too?
Every time I ride that thing, I feel like I’m gambling with my life.
Arthur extended his spiritual perception and swept across the entire Gaunt House.
He quickly noticed numerous concealment and defensive enchantments surrounding the area.
Clearly, Voldemort hadn’t been completely careless.
Dumbledore also recognized the Gaunt House immediately.
The moment he saw it, he understood this was Voldemort’s stronghold.
He turned toward Arthur and asked,
"What’s the plan?"
"Infiltration... or a direct assault?"
Arthur stored away the flying car before answering calmly,
"A direct assault."
"With this many people, infiltration would be inconvenient."
If it were only Arthur, Melina, and Hermione, stealth would naturally be easy.
After all, Melina’s combat style closely resembled that of the Black Knife Assassins. Her stealth abilities were excellent.
And Arthur could easily carry Hermione around in her cat form without being noticed.
But now they also had Harry—
a human disaster magnet.
With him around, they would probably get discovered before even entering the front door.
The moment Harry heard the words "direct assault," he immediately pulled out his wand and started marching toward the Gaunt House.
Then he realized—
nobody else had moved.
Harry turned around blankly.
"Why aren’t you coming?"
Arthur looked at him as though staring at an idiot.
"Any normal person should understand one thing."
"Unless absolutely necessary, never fight on the enemy’s home ground."
"If you charge in like that, there’s a good chance you’ll trigger some trap and die immediately."
Harry scratched his head awkwardly.
That... actually made sense.
For the sake of preserving his own life, he obediently retreated.
"So what do we do?"
"Call them out?"
Arthur nodded.
"Of course."
"But we can use a slightly more special method."
Harry blinked.
"What kind of special method?"
Arthur didn’t answer.
Instead, he crushed the disc in his hand.
The moment the disc shattered, it transformed into a cloud of black mist carrying immense curse power before flying straight into the Gaunt House.
Harry watched nervously, expecting Arthur to cause some massive explosion or terrifying phenomenon again.
But after waiting for a while—
nothing happened.
Completely confused, Harry asked,
"That’s it?"
Arthur replied calmly,
"Relax."
"Let the bullet fly for a little longer."
Naturally, Harry completely failed to understand the reference.
What he was currently thinking was:
When did Arthur even fire a bullet?
Just as Harry continued struggling to understand the relationship between bullets and black mist—
the doors of the Gaunt House suddenly burst open.
Voldemort emerged together with a massive group of Death Eaters, all radiating murderous intent.
Moments earlier, the black mist created from the shattered disc had carried cursed power directly into the Gaunt House.
At a speed so fast that even Voldemort failed to react—
it slammed straight into Bellatrix Lestrange.
And in the very next second—
Bellatrix died instantly beneath the curse.
Voldemort himself froze on the spot.
Then endless fury erupted within him.
Who dared?!
Who was insane enough to come directly to his base and kill one of his people?!
Enraged, Voldemort immediately gathered every Death Eater and stormed outside.
He wanted to see exactly who possessed such suicidal courage.
And thus—
the current scene unfolded.
Voldemort led a massive crowd of Death Eaters out of the mansion.
The moment he saw Arthur and the others, he instantly understood who had murdered Bellatrix.
Only moments earlier, he had still been thinking about how to deal with Arthur in the future.
Yet Arthur had actually delivered himself directly to his doorstep.
Thinking about it carefully—
aside from Arthur, nobody else possessed such bizarre methods capable of instantly killing Bellatrix.
Voldemort’s eyes burned with fury.
"You!"
"How dare you?!"
"You bring only this handful of people..."
"...yet you still dare come before me and kill one of my most capable subordinates?!"
In Voldemort’s eyes, Arthur was simply courting death.
Yes, Arthur was powerful.
Yes, his methods were strange and unpredictable.
But Voldemort still believed Arthur stood absolutely no chance against him.
Behind Voldemort stood hundreds of Death Eaters—
along with over a thousand Dementors.
Meanwhile, Arthur’s side only consisted of:
Dumbledore.
Snape.
Lucius.
Harry.
And one unknown woman.
If they were being generous, they could also count the cat in Arthur’s arms.
(Hermione: Oh? Looking down on cats, are we? You’re dead.)
With such pitiful numbers, Voldemort felt he could simply drown Arthur beneath sheer manpower alone.
After all, every Death Eater present had been strengthened through the power of Death itself.
Even the weakest among them could rival elite Aurors.
Moreover—
all of them possessed immunity to the Killing Curse.
Voldemort genuinely could not imagine how he was supposed to lose.
If not for wanting to minimize casualties while guaranteeing absolute victory—
he would have already led all the Death Eaters directly to Arthur’s home long ago.
And now—
Arthur had personally delivered himself to Voldemort’s doorstep.
Even killing Bellatrix in the process.
Although Voldemort was furious—
deep down, he also felt a trace of delight.
This was truly a case of searching everywhere only for the prize to arrive at his front door.
Meanwhile, on Arthur’s side—
Harry finally understood what Arthur had done earlier.
So Arthur had already killed a Death Eater moments ago.
No wonder Bellatrix was nowhere to be seen among the crowd.
Fortunately, the Lestrange brothers were still alive.
Harry still had the chance to avenge Sirius.
But now was clearly not the time to think about revenge.
Whether it was Lucius, Snape, or even Dumbledore—
all of them wore grave expressions.
None of them had expected Voldemort to gather this many Death Eaters in one place.
