Starting Out As The God of Beasts
Chapter 12: Rabbit-Kin [2]
BOOM!
An invisible, devastating wave of mental pressure exploded from Roy’s mind, sweeping through the entire canyon like a localized psychic shockwave.
It didn’t damage their physical scales; it targeted the primitive, cold-blooded neural pathways of their brains, fracturing their cognitive stability in a single fraction of a second.
Clang!
The attacking warrior’s scimitar slipped from his scaly grip, clattering uselessly into the sand.
The massive lizard didn’t even finish his swing. His slitted eyes rolled into the back of his head as an agonizing, wet scream tore from his throat.
He clutched his scaly skull with both hands, his heavy knees violently buckling as he slammed face-first into the dirt, vomiting black blood from the sheer mental trauma.
"ARGH! MY HEAD! MY BRAIN IS SPLITTING!"
"WHAT IS THIS?! A WICKED POWER?!!"
"WHO ARE YOU??"
Behind him, all one hundred Lizardmen collapsed simultaneously.
The bone spears dropped from their hands as they writhed in the sand, screaming in absolute agony, their primitive minds completely fractured by a single, casual word from a Level 2 False God.
Even the emerald-scaled Drakes—driven entirely by basic bestial survival instincts—sensed the arrival of a supreme predator.
Their little intelligence was overridden by primal terror.
They collapsed onto their bellies, burying their heavy snouts into the dirt and shivering violently under the weight of Roy’s Ruler of Beasts domain.
Within three seconds, an entire migrating caravan was completely neutralized, paralyzed by pure, unadulterated mental terror.
Silence violently reclaimed the canyon, broken only by the pathetic, whimpering moans of the groveling reptiles.
Roy calmly walked past the twitching body of the lead warrior, his boots crunching softly against the gravel.
He didn’t spare a single glance at the dying monsters. His steps were slow and deliberate as he approached the iron cage where the Rabbit-woman was bound.
The Rabbit-woman was staring at him, her jaw completely dropped, her crimson, doe-like eyes wide with a mixture of profound shock and absolute, overwhelming awe.
Her fluffy white ears twitched weakly in the hot wind. A single word had broken an entire tribe of her cruel tormentors.
She had lived her whole life believing her kind were just weak prey, but the man standing before her defied all the logic of this brutal world. To her, this wasn’t a human.
This was a calamity. A god walking in human flesh.
Roy stopped right in front of her. Up close, her exquisite beauty was even more striking.
The tattered rags did nothing to hide the soft, succulent curve of her enormous chest, heaving with ragged breaths.
Roy reached out, his bare hand effortlessly gripping the heavy iron chains binding her wrists. With a casual twitch of his S-class strength, the iron links snapped like wet twigs.
Clink!
The sudden release made her slender, exhausted legs give out. The Rabbit-woman collapsed forward, but she didn’t hit the jagged gravel.
Roy caught her smoothly by her slender waist, pulling her voluptuous, trembling frame securely against his chest.
Her porcelain skin felt incredibly soft against his hands, a stark contrast to the rough desert stones.
She looked up into his golden-crimson eyes, her voice shaking uncontrollably as a faint, desperate hope sparked in her chest. "W-Who... who are you?"
Roy looked down at her drooping ears, a slow, mesmerizing smile spreading across his handsome face as his divine interface finally locked onto her profile.
"Your salvation," Roy murmured, his voice echoing with a subtle, hypnotic divine authority that seeped straight into her fractured mind, wiping away her despair. "Tell me your name, little rabbit."
"M-my name?" she stuttered. Her cheeks reddened as she stared into the eyes of the handsome but mysterious human.
Roy nodded, "Yes, your name."
He released his grip on the Rabbit-woman. She staggered back, her cheeks still reddened as she twirled her hair, "I-I am Alisa, what about you?" she asked.
Roy grinned, "Jarden Rome." He bowed his head. The young Rabbit-woman’s eyes widened, not hiding her shock. "A wolf-man?" she gasped.
"Weren’t you a human just now?" she asked.
"Was I?" Roy shook his head. He had totally forgotten he needed to disguise himself while wandering the desert.
"Yes, I can remember it." She stepped forward, "What happened?" she asked, gently placing her hand on Roy’s face.
She could feel his cat-like whiskers. "They’re real!" she mumbled. "I don’t know what you’re talking about, Ms. Alisa."
"But I’ve always been a Wolf-man," Roy lied. "Is that so?" Alisa grumbled, frowning at the deceitful Roy.
But Roy nodded, he gently caressed his sleek crimson hair, "Miss Alisa, correct?" he asked.
"Yeah, do you want to ask me anything?" she eagerly asked. His lips curled faintly, "I’m a traveler, a wolf-man who separated from his pack thirty years ago."
"I had been searching for my pack before I came across you. What happened?" Roy asked, "Why are you a prisoner of the Lizardmen?"
Alisa bent her head, her eyes watered as she struggled to control her tears, "My home was destroyed."
"Destroyed?" Roy’s brows furrowed. Alisa nodded, "A month ago, under the command of the Troll King, we were attacked by an army of Ogres."
"They weren’t prepared. Ambushed late in the night, many were slain that night but the survivors like me were sold off."
"We were dragged to the Tempest City, there i was sold to the chief of this Lizardmen tribe. The Voka tribe," Alisa explained, "I’m a virgin. That chief was going to strip me of my pride." She collapsed on her knees.
"My mom said what exists between my legs only belongs to the man I love!" she screamed.
Her arms quivered, she could no longer control her emotions, tears dripped down her cheeks, her eyes swollen.
"Is that so?" Roy excelled a deep sigh, not knowing how to console the young beastwoman. He slightly bent down, placing his hand on her curly hair.
"It’s fine Alisa," Roy whispered, "I’m here to protect you," he assured.
"You’ll protect me?" Alisa raised her head, staring at Roy. Although Roy couldn’t truly sympathize with her, her innocent beauty melted his hardened heart.
"Yes," Roy nodded, "As long as you stay with me, Jarden Rome will always protect you."
