Starting Sign-In from a Billionaire God
Chapter 1218 - 1217
"Nothing." Yun Qingyao turned her head away and looked at the road ahead. There was no way she would tell Lin Fan what she was thinking right now.
Lin Fan said, "If nothing unexpected happens, we’ll reach Southern Yunnan before dark today. Where are your people waiting for us?"
Yun Qingyao chuckled. "Are you worried? If you’re scared, you might as well let me go now, it’s not too late."
Lin Fan smiled faintly. "Not exactly scared, just making conversation. I actually hope your people are a bit more capable, otherwise they’re the ones who should be afraid."
Yun Qingyao snorted. "I can guarantee you’ll regret the decision you’ve made!"
Lin Fan said, "Let me ask you, if you really managed to escape, what would you do next? Planning to go back to Yun City and kidnap my girlfriend again?"
Yun Qingyao snorted. "You’ll know when the time comes. I can tell you this though: I will definitely take revenge, and I’ll return everything you did to me, doubled."
Lin Fan laughed. "Oh."
Yun Qingyao was very displeased. "Oh what? Just like you said earlier, don’t think you’re all that and let your tail curl up to the sky. There will always be someone who can deal with you."
Lin Fan nodded. "Alright, I’ll be waiting. Anyway, I think there’s nothing much left for us to talk about. From this moment on, I suggest we keep quiet. Unless it’s necessary, don’t talk, don’t affect my driving."
Yun Qingyao snorted and muttered, "Who wants to talk to you anyway!"
So, the two of them were like a sulking couple, and sure enough, they didn’t say another word for the time that followed.
Lin Fan actually just couldn’t be bothered with this woman. He only wanted to focus on driving, get to Southern Yunnan as soon as possible, settle this matter, then return to Yun City and let his life go back to peace. The Hidden Sect wasn’t easy to mess with—Lin Fan knew that. If Yun Qingyao had only come from some small-time force, he wouldn’t have gone all this way.
Focusing on driving really did make him faster. Two hours later, they had already covered more than a hundred kilometers.
Lin Fan glanced at the fuel gauge and found the car was almost out of gas. Back at the service area in the morning, he had actually forgotten to refuel. All because of that High-End Lady; Lin Fan had forgotten about fuel for the moment.
Lin Fan hurriedly checked the map and found that the next gas station was still dozens of kilometers away, and he didn’t have enough fuel to get there.
Breaking into a cold sweat, Lin Fan had to search for the nearest gas station. Fortunately, there was one within about five kilometers nearby, but they would need to exit the highway temporarily.
"We’re getting off the highway in a bit," Lin Fan said.
Yun Qingyao, who had been silent the whole time, suddenly grew a little nervous. It sounded like Lin Fan was about to change the route?
"What for?" Yun Qingyao asked.
Lin Fan said, "Get off to refuel, and hit the restroom while we’re at it. What, you scared your people are going to miss us?"
Yun Qingyao snorted and said nothing.
Lin Fan didn’t speak again either, and started looking for an exit on the highway. Before long he saw one, and was just about to steer the car over.
Suddenly, a van sped past Lin Fan’s car and cut in front of him, rushing into the exit ramp.
"In such a hurry to reincarnate?" Lin Fan frowned. He felt something off about that van, but didn’t think too much of it and followed into the exit road as well.
Soon, a highway exit came into view ahead.
The van that had just overtaken them had already reached the exit. However, at the exit right now, there were police setting up a checkpoint, and they stopped the van, seemingly to inspect something.
Suddenly, the van jolted into a harsh reverse, shook off the officers that had come up to question them, then whipped into a tight turn and actually started driving the wrong way back toward the highway.
And just like that, this crazy van was headed straight for Lin Fan’s car.
"Don’t move!"
"Stop!"
The officers roared, trying to shout the van down. The police car parked to the side reacted as well, quickly starting up to give chase.
Watching the oncoming van, Lin Fan said to Yun Qingyao, "Hold on."
He yanked the steering wheel, and the Rolls-Royce shot straight toward the van.
Yun Qingyao’s face changed. What was Lin Fan doing? Was he really planning to go head-on and force the van to a stop? Was he trying to get himself killed!
Lin Fan was indeed planning to force the van to stop, but he wasn’t going to collide with them head-on. His eight-million Rolls-Royce was not something to be wrecked.
The van suddenly saw Lin Fan’s car charging at it and was clearly frightened. The driver thought he was crazy enough already, but hadn’t expected to run into someone even crazier. He instinctively twisted the steering wheel.
Lin Fan’s timing was precise. Just as he was about to slam into the van, he wrenched the steering wheel again. With an extremely tricky drift, the Rolls-Royce slipped around the van, brushing past it so close they almost kissed, then swung out and opened some distance.
Screech!
Lin Fan slammed on the brakes. After that high-difficulty drift, the Rolls-Royce came to an emergency stop.
Even a car built for racing wouldn’t be able to pull that off so beautifully, but Lin Fan did it anyway. Simple reason: he had top-tier automotive knowledge rewarded by the system, and his control over vehicles was also world-class.
This scene left everyone at the exit, the nearby drivers, and the police all stunned.
Even people who’d watched racing for decades had never seen something like this. That drift was so damn gorgeous—thrilling and absolutely spectacular!
Of course, Lin Fan hadn’t come here to put on a show. He’d done it to force the van to stop. For him, it was just a flick of the wrist.
The van was in trouble now. Because the driver had instinctively jerked the wheel in fright, the van had slammed straight into a concrete barrier on the side of the road.
The vehicle stopped, but the front end was totaled on impact. There was no way they were driving it to escape anymore.
The police weren’t idle either and immediately sped up to close in.
Just then, the van’s door was kicked open and several men jumped out. Each of them actually had a gun in hand, and as soon as they were out, they opened fire on the police.
The pursuing police car was forced to a halt. The officers reacted quickly, immediately looking for cover, drawing their own guns, and exchanging fire with the thugs.
In the fierce shootout, one of the criminals took a bullet and went down, collapsing in a pool of blood.
"Ah!"
With a sudden scream, a police officer was shot in the thigh and fell to the ground. Fortunately, his colleague beside him quickly dragged him back behind cover, saving his life.
But these thugs were desperate. They didn’t even bother looking for cover. Knowing they couldn’t escape, they simply chose to fight the police to the death, firing as they advanced. Barefoot men aren’t afraid of those wearing shoes, and for a moment the police side was at a disadvantage.
Watching the thugs about to break through the defensive line—
At this moment, Lin Fan got out of the Rolls-Royce, bent down, picked up a few pebbles, and flicked one out with a snap of his wrist.
Whoosh!
With a ripping sound through the air, the pebble slammed into a thug’s wrist, and blood spurted out.
The thug screamed, and the gun in his hand flew out and clattered to the ground.
