"Team mission, huh?" Jeremy uttered.

He could tell that Head Harold wouldn’t let him go alone. He was being chased by Darkshade members.

On top of that, the Head of the Hill Family was after his life as well.

In these circumstances, there was no way he could convince Head Harold to let him venture into the wilderness alone.

Harold saw that the kid was giving it some serious thought. To be honest, he didn’t want this kid to enter the wilderness at all.

But there was another reason. It was Melinda; the death of the team members had taken a toll on her.

Since that day, she hadn’t entered the wilderness.

Jeremy gave it a thought. He decided to do a team mission this time.

"Alright, I will do it," Jeremy said to him.

"Good," Harold uttered.

Then he phoned Melinda right away. Melinda answered the call. Harold talked about doing a mission with Jeremy Night.

Melinda heard him out. There was silence on the call.

Melinda knew what Head Harold was trying to do. It was time for her to get up and start acting normal.

She had been grieving for too long. It was also a surprise to her that Jeremy had decided to do a team mission.

She thought it must be because of Head Harold.

"Alright, I agree. But I have to check on Freya and Theo. I’m not sure whether they are ready or not," she replied.

"Alright, you guys are enough," Harold said.

He thought that if something happened to the team, then Theo and Freya would suffer first. He didn’t want them dead.

He believes Jeremy Night and Melinda can solve the problem.

"You guys can come and see me tomorrow morning. I’ll have a special mission ready for you," Harold said.

"Okay," Melinda replied.

Jeremy heard that as well. Since Theo and Freya were not coming, it was also good news for him.

He then thanked Head Harold before leaving the office room. After coming out of the office, he once again let out a sigh.

He was glad that he was at least able to convince him of the mission.

Meanwhile,

Head Harold’s expression turned serious. Even though he didn’t like sending them to the wilderness, he didn’t have another choice.

He couldn’t always be defensive. If Robert Hill doesn’t change his ways, then he will have to be aggressive as well.

Harold then called Elder Stephen to his room. There was a reason why he had given them time until morning.

Shortly afterwards,

Elder Stephen came to see him. He greeted Harold and sat down opposite him.

"Head," Stephen uttered. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

"I’m going to give a mission to Melinda. Jeremy Night will be joining her as well," Harold said.

"What?" Stephen uttered in shock.

He was taken aback, because he knew the dangers surrounding the young man.

"Head, the Darkshade people will definitely target the young man. Now, Melinda will be caught in the line of fire as well," Stephen said.

"If the two of them are surrounded by professional killers, then they won’t escape alive," he added.

He knew Head Harold must have thought about it. The Darkshade members are professional killers.

Harold said, "That’s why I have called you here. I am planning to send a few elders to a prepared location. I’m sure they won’t send Tier-7 Beast Tamers."

"If the Darkshade members try to do something, then the elders will take care of it," he added.

Hearing that, Stephen’s eyes gleamed with a twinkle. He now understood what Head Harold was trying to do.

"Elders are Tier-7 Beast Tamers. But one of them is enough to hold them back. Why do we need to send more?" Stephen asked.

"Stephen, what happened to you?" Harold asked.

"Did you forget that Robert Hill is after Jeremy Night’s life?" Harold asked.

Hearing that, Stephen realized his mistake. He was careless. The real headache was the Beast Taming Hill Family.

The Head of their family was really after the young man’s life. But he is a Tier-8 Beast Tamer. A terrible idea came to his mind.

"Head, but that person is a Tier-8 Beast Tamer," Stephen said.

"I’m going to keep an eye on him. I won’t let him enter the wilderness. So don’t worry about it. Right now, we have to pick a location."

"So that these two can do missions peacefully," Harold said.

Stephen then thought of something and said, "There is a Deadly Ridge close to the border."

"Even the corrupted beasts avoid the place because of the terrain. Some dangerous plants are growing there. That’s why it is called Deadly Ridge," Stephen added.

"Deadly Ridge," Harold thought.

He knew it was one of the most dangerous places in the wilderness. If one was not careful, they would face death because of the poisonous plants.

He thought the place was a good location for the mission. Melinda is a knowledgeable person. She can protect Jeremy Night there.

Harold then looked towards Stephen and said, "Your idea is good. The Deadly Ridge is a good location. Let them explore the place as a special mission."

Stephen nodded his head.

Harold acted. He immediately called three elders. They are Tier-7 Beast Tamers. Their job is to protect Jeremy Night, Melinda, and other Beast Tamers in the vicinity.

Harold didn’t explain about the Darkshade members. He thought it was best for fewer people to know. Instead, he said the beast tide was over recently.

They needed to be careful. If any higher-tier beasts crossed the border, it would be troublesome.

The next morning,

After getting ready, Jeremy Night left the room.

When he came down to the lobby, he came across Melinda, who looked alright. But there was less enthusiasm on her face.

"Senior Sister, how are you?" Jeremy asked her.

Melinda raised her head and saw Jeremy Night.

She smiled and said, "It’s really surprising that you have agreed to do a team mission."

Hearing that, Jeremy found out that her mood was low.

"To be honest, it’s not me. Head Harold wanted it this way," Jeremy replied.

"I knew it," Melinda replied.

"Let’s go to him," she said.

Hearing that, Jeremy nodded to her. Then they started walking towards Head Harold’s office. They were silent on the way.

Jeremy didn’t know what to talk about. The loss of members was no small matter. He didn’t want to recall that.
