STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 837: Part 1: Preparation for the next round
Governor's Office
Martin swept his gaze across everyone. He saw that they had calmed down.
He then said, "As I said before, it was not the Colossal Beast. A new Tier-9 Beast is causing problems."
"Then how are you going to explain the five Tier-9 Beast Tamers coming to rescue us? Usually, we have to beg them to send at least one person."
"Even that person would take their sweet time to come here. But right now, they have left already. So the situation is evolving fast," the Beast Tamer Head asked.
Hearing that, others raised their heads. They were looking towards the Governors. The Central University Head was the same.
He still thought that the Governors were hiding something from them.
Martin and Orion looked at each other.
Orion said, "There is a reason for it. The Five Lords are coming to investigate the root cause. We have yet to find out the reason for the previous beast tide."
"It appeared randomly. It's happening the same this time," Orion added.
Hearing that, everyone had a look of understanding. This time the explanation sounded reasonable to them. They relaxed.
Right then, a few more people entered the room. Among them, Head Harold was present as well.
These few people came at the last minute. They nodded to the Governors before sitting with the others.
Martin then shifted his attention to the main part of the discussion. Since most of them were here, he was ready to give the instructions. It was the main objective of the meeting.
...
Red Moon Chamber
Jeremy Night was busy in his daily practice. He hadn't checked his device, so he didn't know the latest developments.
But he knew that the wilderness was filled with a large number of corrupted beasts.
Like others, he too thought the next beast tide could be possible. But it had not been confirmed by the Governors yet, so he didn't want to waste time pondering it.
It would only disturb his mind. So, he was giving his full attention to his practice. He was practicing his blade inside the room.
He made a strong blade attack. The katana blade strike came fast and struck the steel puppet.
Clang!
A strong metallic sound occurred.
Yet the blade's sharp edge penetrated the puppet's body. It was only possible because of the momentum and accuracy.
He wanted to use more precise strikes against the corrupted beasts. And he wanted to use them without his starlight power.
Because he thought such skill mastery was more needed right now. If he was right, the next beast tide could be possible.
He might need to kill more beasts right now. He couldn't always use the starlight power; he needed starlight power to deal with the higher tiers.
It could be Tier-5 or Tier-6 beasts. So, he continued to use blade strikes one after another.
Time passed.
First, he did it without using the Blade One technique. Then he tried to do that using the Blade One move. He then spent quite a bit of time in practice.
That evening, he ended practice and it yielded results. He was better than before. He could now deliver more precise strikes.
He still thought there was a lot of room for improvement. In the future, he wanted to attain such a level that he didn't waste a single move.
If he ever drew his blade for a strike, then the strike should kill the target. He walked out of the room. He then went to the bathroom to take a cold shower.
He spent 20 minutes in the bath. After walking out, he changed into fresh clothes. He then sat on the sofa and leaned back. He felt comfortable all over his body.
He gained good results today. If he could get another four or five days, he would gain much more improvement.
Then he thought of the Starfist and the self-created thread move. He decided to spend a few hours on the Starfist and thread move tomorrow.
Buzz!
His device buzzed the next moment. He cleared his thoughts and took the device. He saw someone was calling him.
The person who was calling was none other than Head Harold. His expression changed drastically.
He then got off the sofa and walked up to the door.
Creak!
He opened the door and walked outside. Then he started going towards Head Harold's office. He had to go through the lobby.
When he came to the place, he saw the lobby area was crowded. The chatter had filled the room.
Seeing that, Jeremy Night was stunned. He didn't expect the atmosphere to be this tense. He understood something had happened.
It might be related to the wilderness. So, he turned around and started going towards Head Harold's office.
Shortly afterwards,
He came to the office room. He got permission to enter. Once he walked inside the room, he saw Head Harold sitting behind the desk.
"Sit down," Harold said.
Hearing that, he nodded to him before taking a seat.
Harold asked, "Did you see the news?"
Jeremy shook his head and said, "I saw it last night before sleeping. The beasts were appearing in large numbers in the wilderness. It could cause the next beast tide fast..."
A hint of surprise and approval flashed in Harold's eyes.
He said, "Hmmm, but things have changed this morning. I went to the Governor's office for a meeting. What I heard was shocking. The City is going to face the next beast tide anytime now."
Hearing that, Jeremy Night's heart skipped a beat. He had thought there might be a few days' time. But he didn't expect the beast tide to occur this soon.
It showed things really went beyond the Governors' control. He didn't know what to say now. He was preparing for the beast tide as well.
"What do you think about it?" Harold asked.
"I'm hoping that they will survive without making mistakes like the last time," Jeremy replied. He was honest and didn't hide his opinion.
"What mistake?" Harold asked.
"We let the Tier-9 Beast reach the city. It's one thing if the attacks from the beast reach the city, but the beast itself came to the city."
"Everyone was close to death last time. Lots of people died from the attack," Jeremy said in a tone with a little bit of anger.
