Strongest Lord by Opening Blind Boxes
Chapter 149 - 143: A River of Blood
The [Fantasy Avatar] ability had no cooldown. As long as he had Chaos Energy, Wang Yi could use it continuously. However, the skill’s effect would simply refresh, so the number of Great Sage Avatars would not accumulate.
Just then, Wang Yi’s body flickered and instantly split into ten figures.
Nine of them were Great Sage Avatars. With a triumphant cry, they leaped into the sky, clouds materializing beneath their feet. Their Golden Armor gleamed as they spun their Golden Cudgels like electric fans.
They were now King-level combat units. Wang Yi had already studied them; they had no Magic attacks or Divine Techniques. All they could do was perform Cloud Stepping Flight and swing their Golden Cudgels around wildly. They were far from worthy of the title "Monkey King," but Wang Yi believed they were more than enough for this battlefield.
At that moment, a large number of goblins charged toward Wang Yi.
Wang Yi snorted softly and commanded, "I need six Great Sages to destroy the Giant Dragon, two Great Sages to smash the tanks, and one more to receive its Battle Armor and wreak havoc on the battlefield for me!"
"Old Sun is on his way!"
"Old Sun is on his way!"
"Old Sun is on his way!"
The nine Great Sages responded in unison, riding the clouds and mist as they flew off to their respective battles.
Following Wang Yi’s orders, six of them headed for the Red Giant Dragon, Golden Cudgels in hand.
Two shot up into the sky, then flew toward the Grizzly Tanks behind the goblin army.
The last one circled once in the sky before landing with a BOOM in front of Wang Yi, instantly crushing a goblin underfoot. With a swing of its Golden Cudgel, it sent dozens more flying.
In that instant, a speck of light shot out from between Wang Yi’s eyebrows and flew into the body of the Great Sage avatar before him.
Immediately, rock began to grow over its body as the Great Sage Avatar equipped the Cyan Peak Armor. Its form expanded rapidly, and in the blink of an eye, it had transformed into the Great Toad Mountain God and begun to ravage the battlefield.
The thirty- to forty-meter-tall Great Toad Mountain God stood amidst the meter-high goblin army like a god of destruction. Even just rolling on the ground would inflict terrifying damage. It waded through the goblins as if they were water, heading toward the rear of their army. Each time its massive foot came down, it crushed at least twenty or thirty of them.
Just then, with two loud BOOMS, a pair of Grizzly Tanks were smashed to pieces by two Great Sage Avatars with their Golden Cudgels. The chaos began.
In the sky, Li Bolili, riding on the back of the Red Dragon, was starting to panic.
That enormous train was actually heading over!
’Is that Wang Shanhe working with the people down there?’
’They actually came as reinforcements!’
’What should I do?’
’Should I keep fighting or run away?’
’Or maybe I should seek refuge with the West Continent Players below.’
While she hesitated, the six Great Sage Avatars surrounded her.
"Taste Old Sun’s cudgel!"
"Taste Old Sun’s cudgel!"
"Taste Old Sun’s cudgel..."
The six Great Sages shouted, their voices like an echo. They tread on auspicious clouds, moving with extreme speed as they swung their Golden Cudgels.
A series of sharp CLANGS rang out. The thirty-meter-long Giant Dragon howled in agony as an unknown number of its scales shattered. It was as if six bloody holes had been punched into its body, and blood sprayed everywhere.
It was beaten into a daze!
Li Bolili was also stunned!
’Where did these Sun Wukongs come from?!’
’Is this fucking reasonable?!’
Without needing a command from Li Bolili, the pained Red Giant Dragon immediately tried to flee.
"Where do you think you’re going, demon!"
"Where do you think you’re going, demon..."
Another series of echo-like shouts rang out. The six Great Sages zipped through the clouds, their Golden Cudgels CLANGING against the Red Giant Dragon’s head. Each blow carried immense weight, shattering its scales and splattering its blood.
The Red Dragon roared and bellowed, but its Dragon Flame was useless. The six Great Sages were too fast and their cudgels too heavy; all it could do was take the beating. Soon, it was completely disoriented, flying about randomly like a headless fly.
Li Bolili was scared out of her wits, her mind a complete blank!
’It feels like I’ve transmigrated all over again!’
Just moments ago, she had been mocking an army of a hundred thousand, thinking that being a Dragon Knight was so badass. But now, it was as if she’d been transported to the Journey to the West World, and a Dragon Knight... was worth less than dirt!
Suddenly, the world spun around her.
The Red Dragon, with most of its life beaten out of it, tumbled from the sky.
Seeing this, the numerous soldiers from the Dongsheng Prince Mansion below cried out in alarm and scattered.
A moment later, with a deafening BOOM, the massive Red Dragon slammed into the ground. It was like an overripe tomato hitting the pavement, splattering bright red blood in all directions.
The Giant Dragon’s head had been beaten to a bloody pulp and was covered in gory craters. It gasped for breath, sparks sputtering from its nostrils, but it seemed to lack even the strength to lift its neck.
It had fallen right in front of the small train.
The 44 Leonidas warriors immediately surrounded the Giant Dragon and began stabbing it with their spears in perfect unison.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG...
At this moment, the 44 Leonidas warriors became like cold-hearted blacksmiths and miners, hammering the Giant Dragon as if it were an Iron Ingot and digging into it as if it were a mountain of ore.
Their attacks struggled to break through the Giant Dragon’s scales, but with so many of them, it made for quite a spectacle.
"ROOOAR..."
The Giant Dragon let out a roar of defiance, but it couldn’t stop its life from rapidly draining away amidst the clanging.
The six Great Sages swooped in to finish the job. After a flurry of swings from their Iron Rods, the Giant Dragon was finally dead.
A group of purple-skinned Beastman ladies, however, ran over carrying pots and pans. One of them roared, "Don’t let it go to waste! Carve up the meat for Alchemy! Carve up the meat for Alchemy..."
Just then, Li Bolili crawled out from under the Giant Dragon’s corpse.
Miraculously, she was only severely injured, not dead!
SHING!
Zhang Lengzi appeared, placing his Gale Battle Blade—so bright it could reflect a person’s image—against Li Bolili’s neck. "Caught one alive!" he yelled.
"Kill her! Kill her!"
Yang Qingniu shouted at him.
Immediately, one of the purple-skinned Beastman ladies squatted down next to Li Bolili with a bowl, waiting. "Don’t waste it!" she yelled. "Chop her up for Alchemy!"
"Fuck!" Li Bolili cursed, but before she could say anything else, her chance was gone.
Her vision flipped upside down. With a swift motion, Zhang Lengzi’s blade fell, severing her neck.
Then, in one of the carriages at the back of the small train, with a PFFT, the door of a Cloning Pod opened. The clone was activated, and Li Bolili was resurrected.
"What’s going on? Is my life made of paper? Where am I now?"
Li Bolili crawled out of the Cloning Pod and looked up. Before she could even get a clear view of her surroundings, a fast blade sliced across her neck, and it was severed once again.
Two Feng Yuxiu were standing guard beside the Cloning Pod.
In their eyes, the cloned and resurrected Li Bolili was an infiltrator. No mercy was to be shown.
At that moment, Wang Yi received a system notification: "Ding! You have killed the West Continent Lord Player Li Bolili. You have gained 6,900 Chaos Energy and +400 Lord Experience!"
"Ding! This Player has been expelled from the World of Suffering by you. System protection has been activated. Please be aware that Lord Player Li Bolili will now resurrect in her own territory!"
’Li Bolili was killed?’
Wang Yi had already seen the Giant Dragon fall, so he wasn’t particularly surprised. He muttered to himself, ’What a shame, that Cloning Pod has been activated. I was hoping to use it to get some things from her, trade for a few blind boxes or something. Too bad she couldn’t hang on! Oh well, it’s better that she’s dead. It’s quieter this way!’
Just then, the six Great Sages returned with their Golden Cudgels to report the completion of their mission.
Wang Yi pointed toward the rear of the goblin army and roared, "Kill!"
"Old Sun is on his way!"
And so, the six Great Sages charged out once more.
The system notification about Li Bolili being expelled from the Painful Origin Realm was not the first one Wang Yi had received, nor would it be the last.
Qin Mo was assassinating Players in the rear, succeeding again and again. The system notifications in Wang Yi’s mind rang out one after another, bringing with them more Chaos Energy and Lord Experience.
’The returns are pretty good. A few thousand Chaos Ability points per person... ten people would be tens of thousands. If I kill a few thousand people, couldn’t I save up for an ultimate move?’
Wang Yi muttered to himself, but then shook his head.
Killing several thousand people was easier said than done.
At this very moment, behind the goblin army, the remaining Players were in a state of panic.
"Dammit, there’s an Assassin!"
"This Assassin is highly skilled! We don’t know where he’s hiding!"
"Li Bolili was taken out! Who the hell are these guys?"
"Watch out, the monkeys are coming!"
"What monkeys? Call them the Great Saint!"
"The Great Saints are done with the tanks and are starting on the armored vehicles!"
"Holy shit, how are we supposed to fight this?!"
"What the hell is that giant toad thing?"
"The goblin army is useless! They’re just infiltrating and taking out our leaders!"
"Where’s the Dogman God? Dogman God, now’s your time to act!"
"Act my ass! I’m the Dogman God, you think I can beat a whole group of Great Sages?"
"Everyone, let this be a lesson. Don’t just attack other Players on sight. You might just pick a fight you can’t win, and you’ll be the one who gets hurt..."
"The only thing to do now is for you all to cover me. I’m going to go up and negotiate with them!"
A female Player wearing a steel helmet and a bulletproof vest stepped out from the crowd. She was holding a large megaphone and intended to negotiate, but the moment she showed her face, a streak of golden light shot toward her, punching a hole straight through her helmet and her head.
She immediately dissolved into light and vanished, leaving this world for good.
Along with her, a small green tent at the rear of the goblin army instantly disappeared.
"Fang Ke got headshot!"
"Obviously, they refuse to communicate!"
"We’re screwed! The goblin barracks is gone, too. No one can recruit goblins anymore! And the ones here have no one to command them!"
"It’s a lost cause! Run!"
The West Continent Player Alliance immediately fell apart. The surviving Players fled for their lives, cursing and swearing as they ran.
Wang Yi received a system notification that Lord Player Fang Ke had been sent away, and he gained 8,600 points of Chaos Energy.
That Fang Ke was the Lord Player with the [Mobile Camp] Talent and the commander of the goblin army. With her departure, the vast horde of goblins on the field lost their leader and began to fight on their own. Some even left the battlefield, becoming no different from wandering wild monsters.
The state of the battlefield changed dramatically.
The goblins, which had been fearlessly swarming forward like a tide, were now scattering like a receding one.
The Prince Mansion’s army was invigorated. They charged out of their main camp. With the Red Dragon gone from the sky, they rolled out their Crossbow Carriages and began a counter-pursuit, their morale soaring.
Wang Yi’s Soldiers remained as valiant as ever, all while simultaneously looting the battlefield.
What followed was almost a complete rout, or rather, a one-sided massacre. The battle lasted until dawn, and when the sun rose, rivers of blood flowed across the wilderness.
Xue Shentian, mounted on a hippopotamus, overlooked the battlefield from a high vantage point. No one dared to approach him.
Suddenly, a flash of golden light appeared before Xue Shentian, and an Intelligence Scroll materialized.
