Chapter 777: A Plan of Action

Back when Gina first got together with Jason, she would’ve never thought that she would accept any other woman into their relationship. Gina had already been skeptical about whether or not things would work out back when Riyala asked her for permission, and Gina honestly thought that the relationship just wouldn’t work. But for some reason, that relationship had worked, and Gina couldn’t deny that one of the reasons it worked was because of how Jason made sure Gina was involved in approving the women who joined their relationship. Gina was certain without a shadow of a doubt that she was number one in Jason’s heart, and as long as that never changed, Gina didn’t mind having other women in the relationship.

....

On the other side of the castle, Jason’s meeting with Farlow and T’arigan was already starting to come to an end. T’arigan told Jason that it would be possible for him to have a meeting with the council the next day to discuss Jason’s actions on Machina, and also to decide on whether or not he would be receiving punishment for what he had done. Jason was obviously not interested in getting punished for the Machina Massacre since he had obviously not been in control of himself when it happened, but T’arigan told Jason that the council would have to take a vote to decide whether or not Jason’s claim was enough reason to remove the punishment. But Jason didn’t have to worry much because the only person on the council who seemed to want Jason to be punished was Rak’hael, so there was a very high chance that Jason would not face any punishment at all! Once the meeting was over, T’arigan excused himself and ended the call.

Jason used his [Eye of the King] to look towards his family back on Earth again, and Jason felt a feeling of homesickness coming over him. Jason leaned back in his chair and put his hand over his face before letting out a sigh! Honestly, this was just some bullshit! Jason had been away from home for more than three months now, and he hadn’t spoken to his mother or sisters in all that time! And now that he was literally one step away from finally going back to them, the fucking council was acting up again! A part of Jason wanted to just ignore the council and tell them to go fuck themselves so he could return to his world as soon as possible! But Jason knew that this would just be him running away from responsibility. There were rules in place for a reason, and even though Jason didn’t like those rules, those same rules were what were protecting his family and world from being affected by all the powerful worlds around them. Jason had to follow those rules – at least to an extent – to make sure things didn’t fall apart!

"I can understand your frustration, but I assure you that tomorrow’s meeting with the council will be little more than a formality. We will not be arresting you, and you will return to your world afterwards. I promise you that on my honor."

Farlow spoke up from the head of the table when he saw the tiredness on Jason’s face! Farlow could understand Jason’s annoyance very well, and Farlow also knew that Jason was more than powerful enough to fight against the council if he truly wanted to! The only reason Jason was accepting all this political nonsense was for the same reason that Hesbaeth was allowing them to punish her for her actions, even though she was powerful enough to not listen to anyone if she wanted! Both Jason and Hesbaeth understood that they had a responsibility to uphold the law regardless of their own personal feelings on the matter! Because if they refused to obey the law, then the law would lose all its meaning!

Jason turned to Farlow, and he saw the intense look on Farlow’s face that showed just how serious the Elven King was. Jason didn’t have anything against Farlow in particular, so Jason just sighed calmly before he got up and nodded to Farlow before saying:

"Thank you for setting up this meeting, Farlow. And also, thank you for saving Gina’s life during Hesbaeth’s rampage earlier. My father told me a long time ago that you’re a bit difficult to get along with, but he also said that you’re a very dependable person, and I now know he was definitely right about you."

Farlow had already stood up with a small smile when Jason thanked him for all the help, and he was about to tell Jason that it was nothing since Jason’s family had also helped him. But once Jason mentioned what Richard said about him, Farlow’s eye twitched in annoyance, and he cursed that bastard in his head! Jason easily noticed the irritation on Farlow’s face, and Jason chuckled slightly before he shook Farlow’s hand in thanks and turned to leave the meeting room. Farlow asked Jason where he was heading, and Jason said he needed to go find Gina.

Once Jason was gone, Farlow found his mind travelling back in time, to long before the Period of Lawlessness. Back when Richard and Farlow had been children who only met because Richard’s father had married Farlow’s aunt. They were both princes and heirs to the throne, and so they became fast friends, and they spoke about the changes they would make to the world when they grew up. Neither of them knew back then that the Primordial Expanse would soon be thrust into a centuries-long war, and in their childish naivety, they created plans while believing that things would always be as peaceful as they had been! The responsibilities of war pulled the two friends apart and prevented them from meeting each other for years, but even now, centuries after the war had ended, Farlow somehow still found himself intertwined with the Marc family! Farlow realised at this moment that he would never be free from this family, and in truth, Farlow didn’t mind it. Farlow knew that there were far worse people to have as your benefactors! Farlow fell into his seat and leaned back with a sigh while staring up at the large magic stone lighting up the room, and Farlow thought about his friend and where the hell he might be. Farlow knew that Richard wasn’t dead. There were very few people in the Primordial Expanse capable of killing that man, and Richard was one hell of a survivor, so he was definitely alive. But even though Farlow had sent out many spies over the years, he still hadn’t found out anything about Richard’s whereabouts.

’You’ve got one hell of a son here, Richard. A good kid with the strength to back up his bravado. I know you would’ve loved to watch him grow up. But you don’t have to worry, my friend. As long as I’m alive, I’ll do my best to take care of your family until you get back. After all, I know you would do the same thing for me.’

Outside the meeting room, Jason gave a nod to the guards who were standing by the door when they bowed to him, and Jason began moving through the hallway in the direction he could feel Gina and Hesabeth’s mana signatures. Jason wondered why the two women had gone so far away for their conversation, but Jason didn’t think about that for long as he found his thoughts drifting towards what he had to do tomorrow. Since they were going to head to the Stone Catacombs before heading home, Jason needed a plan of action.
