Anyway, it's been some time.

Or well, it's been three months since I started getting messages here and elsewhere about someone plagiarising Sublight Drive under a different title on Webnovel and monetising it via Ko-fi. So much so that I feel compelled to post an update about it. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

Basically, I DON'T POST MY STORIES UNDER ANY PENNAME OTHER THAN mirrth OR miraage. THEY ARE NOT ME. IN FACT, I ONLY POST ON SB AND RR. I've been far too busy to act much on it, but I have tried going through the motions with both sites.

Webnovel doesn't care, and it appears plagiarism is kinda an epidemic there. They're Chinese hosted, and most authors and 'authors' there are Chinese, so they have less incentive to care. That's not a fact, just a personal supposition. Don't come after me on it.

As for Ko-Fi, well, maybe there's a problem with my reporting methods or composition, but their emails state they found no wrongdoing.

So... what to do? Honestly speaking, Sublight Drive's a fanfiction. Not an original story. Not much I can do. Webnovel has even less incentive to act for a fanfiction--they only seem to take action if you can prove you're the copyright holder. And honestly again, I don't really care if Sublight Drive is crossposted without my permission, I've kinda moved on.

But it continuing to be monetised really, really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Evenmoreso considering I've not since the story ended.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

So you may already know, but Sublight Drive is being plagiarised under the title Star Wars: Warborn Strategist by TheNightChoir. You can find both on Webnovel and Ko-fi. Please report them, if you care to take five minutes out of your day. Maybe volume will get them to act, if there's volume, but it's worth a try, right? It barely affects me, and does not affect you, but y'know, y'know.

Edit: I saw some people say its been removed from their Ko-fi, and if that's the case, then thank you, all of you.

Onto brighter news, since I'm here anyway. I've started writing my next work, an original story, in my vanishingly spare time. Maybe because I'm putting way too much effort into it, but it does not feel as smoothgoing as Sublight Drive. Probably also because an original world and story takes magnitudes more effort to craft than a fanfiction. I don't know how long it'll take for me to be happy with it enough to post even the first chapter, but I'll get there. Forewarning, its a low fantasy adventure story, so a very far cry from all this. The custom world map is WIP, maybe I'll post what I got so far... somewhere.

I'm also considering writing a short sidestory for Sublight Drive, set in the post-war era. Maybe like 1-5 chapters max. Semi because I want to explore the plot bunny, semi out of curiosity to see whether it'll get plagiarised too.
