Chapter 1021 - 1020: Participation in Battle
There was no time for self-reproach; she dashed towards the place where Ba Lv’s figure had vanished.
Yanran’s tears flowed down as she saw Ba Lvluo’s entire body covered in dirt and gravel, with only one hand exposed, its slender, pale fingers curled in and the wrist limply hanging down.
Yanran could hardly believe her eyes, she sobbed, recklessly flinging herself forward, starting to scoop away the mud covering Ba Lv.
The buried body of Ba Lv slowly emerged.
Ba Lv’s petite frame curled up, as if that was the only way she could minimize the damage inflicted upon her, her face buried in the crook of her elbow, silent and motionless.
A gentle breeze blew past, causing her hair to sway softly.
Yanran knelt weakly beside her, she hadn’t expected the battle to have such dire consequences, making her lose her best friend.
The battle continued, but she had already lost her fighting spirit.
A hand suddenly shoved her aside.
Completely unprepared, Yanran was knocked to the ground, her eyes wide as she stared at Ba Lv.
What are you staring at? I’m not dead! Ba Lv glared at Yanran irritably, "I nearly died just now, thanks to you!"
Yanran said blankly, "Me? I nearly killed you?"
Really, look, look." Ba Lv stretched her hand out before Yanran’s eyes, a clear bruise marked on her fair hand: "Tsk, you just stepped on my hand, almost pain me to death."
After speaking, Ba Lv gave Ruoran a mischievous wink.
Yanran realized that she had fallen for this little fox’s trick, yet she couldn’t help but admire her for joking in such circumstances.
"Hey hey hey, enough, look, our teacher is fighting enemies. Want to join in?" Ba Lv quickly diverted the subject upon seeing Yanran’s angry expression.
Yanran pointed at Ba Lvluo: "Just you wait!"
Ha ha, "Ba Lv laughed: "You’re really so gullible, but," she lightly hugged Yanran, saying tenderly, "Thank you."
Facing the tanks and combat ships of the Erma Planet team, Jiang Cheng, Yanran, and Ba Lv handled the enemy’s offensive calmly and coolly.
Despite the fierce onslaught from the enemy, confronted with Jiang Cheng’s superpowers, they couldn’t gain any further advantage. On the contrary, from his initial counterstrike, they began suffering losses.
In the battle, Yanran and Ba Lv were thrust into danger due to their recklessness, nearly perishing on the battlefield, but Jiang Cheng intervened in time to save them.
Through this battle, Yanran’s friendship with Ba Lv went a step deeper, tempered by the tests of blood and fire, further elevating their bond and feelings.
Shorty watched his deployed combat ship squadron being completely shot down from the monitor, especially the last one, personally piloted by the squad leader. After that ship was split in two by the sword of that man from an extraterrestrial planet, Shorty’s face turned pale.
This was when he realized he had encountered an opponent unlike any he had faced before.
If regret pills were sold in the world, he would surely buy tons to consume, but now he had already lost that opportunity.
The tanks advancing on Ruoran’s headquarters were down to the last one; a whole tank squadron, under the assault of Jiang Cheng and Yanran’s group, had almost been wiped out.
Inside the tank, the tank squadron leader, acting as the commander, looked particularly grim; he despised Shorty.
If before the tank squadron began their engagement, Shorty had disclosed more details, they would have prepared better, not ending up in such a passive struggle, and they definitely wouldn’t have met such a fate.
The tank squadron leader looked at the scattered tank wreckage and felt a wrenching pain in his heart.
These tank crew members were his comrades who had followed him for years. They spent time together daily, worked together, enjoyed entertainment together, and during holidays, each would bring their families together for gatherings.
From an emotional standpoint, they were no longer just ordinary officers and team members; they were truly brothers.
But because of this damn Shorty, now his brothers and their tanks had all perished in flames.
Thinking of this, the tank squadron leader wished fervently to blast Shorty to the skies with a cannon.
The tank squadron leader knew he likely wouldn’t escape fate this time, fearing his only outcome was dying bravely here. Looking at the other members inside his tank, he couldn’t help but sigh.
In the tank’s periscope, that man from an extraterrestrial planet appeared once more on his screen.
Though the tank squadron leader forced himself not to be scared, his heart still turned cold with fear. Was this human? Or rather a machine hiding under human skin?
The tank squadron leader had personally witnessed this man leap off a tall building and split the combat ship squad leader’s vessel in two.
At that moment, the tank squadron leader understood that they were bound to fail this time, and their defeat would be significant, not because of their own faults. In terms of equipment, combat prowess, and personnel quality, their whole squadron was first-rate on the Erma Planet; the enemy before them was simply too strong.
He couldn’t comprehend how Shorty had provoked such a powerful foe. If it were him, he’d rather make peace with this enemy; this matter concerns nothing about dignity. With such disparity in strength, this battle is only wasting the lives of their team, resulting in utter defeat. Crucially, why did this battle occur? For what reason did it deploy hundreds of troops in the city on the Erma Planet?
This troop’s opponents were only three people, yet, amusingly, hundreds of them had been fought to the point of requesting reinforcements.
Ultimately, even serious weaponry like tanks and combat ships were mobilized to join the fray.
No one expected that even with everyone joining in, the result of the battle would still be their loss.
An entire tank squadron under his command was reduced to just this one tank, amidst the joint assault from this man and his female disciples.
This man was formidable enough by himself; the tank squadron leader saw with his own eyes as he forcibly pried open the tank hatch and stuffed a package of grenades inside.
He also witnessed this man armed with a light shield, blocking the tank’s main attack, then swinging a sword, slicing the tank’s main cannon in two.
Not only was this man terrifyingly fierce, but his two female disciples were equally formidable.
The tank squadron leader couldn’t help but exclaim, truly, a teacher like that yields students like that.
He saw for himself that the two girls who should have been out shopping or watching movies now each bore a missile launcher on their shoulders, a sight scarcely believable, given their frail frames managing such hefty equipment.
