Chapter 2020: 2021 Garo! Third Update

This guy, Ye Qiu had noticed him long ago, as early as three days ago, he felt someone secretly watching him. At first, Ye Qiu thought it was the minions of the Wolf King Lord, but later Ye Qiu discovered that this person was human like him. Recalling the humans he saw in the Black Stone House before, he had roughly guessed the person’s intent.

He just didn’t expect this person to want him to help because they were both humans.

How ridiculous!

If it had been Ye Qiu before coming to the ancestral lands, he might have helped in such a situation, but after experiencing so many things, Ye Qiu had changed a lot. Sometimes helping others may not bring benefits to oneself; on the contrary, it might invite trouble.

This is a martial world, one of survival of the fittest, unable to survive only proves that you are not strong enough, not excellent enough, placing hope on others brings you closer to death.

Driving the person away without any mercy, Ye Qiu was not afraid of retaliation. With his strength, not even the Wolf King Lord could do anything to him, let alone a guy hiding in the shadows who needs help to save his own person, someone he needn’t concern himself with.

Left alone in the room, Ye Qiu sat in meditation and continued to cultivate. An hour later, Ye Qiu opened his eyes; his power couldn’t increase unless he broke through to the Saint Realm.

As for breaking through to the Saint Realm, Ye Qiu wasn’t ready yet. If he breaks through here in the Southern Desolation, even without threats from the likes of the Supreme Saint or the Shadow Powerhouse, he still must be wary of being targeted by ancient beasts.

He needed to make preparations on two fronts, but there was no rush for now; he felt he was still some way from breaking through, for now fortifying the peak forces of the realm gradually.

Continuing cultivation, with nothing on his mind, Ye Qiu left the stone house and wandered around. Some beast-men saw Ye Qiu and were all very respectful. Ye Qiu knew this must be thanks to the day he injured the Wolf King Lord, witnessed by many beast-men, making clear to them how powerful he was.

Facing the strong, beast-men dared not be negligent, it’s a deep-rooted instinct.

No one stopped him, and Ye Qiu walked casually. Suddenly, his mind stirred, and he disappeared from the spot, reappearing some dozen miles away.

Having nothing else to do, Ye Qiu decided to start alchemy and produce some pills. He had collected plenty of Spiritual Medicine earlier but hadn’t had the chance to begin alchemy, so now he could take the time to make several furnaces of pills.

Finding a secluded place, Ye Qiu set up a Formation to cover an empty space, then stepped inside to conduct alchemy.

After finishing the pill-making, it was already dawn. He didn’t make Saint Pills or Divine Pills, as they would cause a considerable stir. He only crafted some top-grade pills to replenish power at crucial moments.

Now Divine Pills weren’t much use to Ye Qiu.

Ye Qiu then returned to the Wolf King Lord’s base camp.

Just as he was about to enter the stone house, Ye Qiu saw two hurried figures, one being the bat beast-man he hadn’t seen for days, the other unfamiliar but exuding a wild aura, likely a shapeshifting ancient beast with considerable strength.

In the middle of the night, the Wolf King Lord’s Think Tank brought back a powerful ancient beast, immediately sparking Ye Qiu’s interest. Once inside the stone house, he quickly took out the Grand Emperor Bell, then hid within it, swiftly flying out to the stone house where the Wolf King Lord was resting.

Sure enough, the bat beast-man had brought that powerful ancient beast to see the Wolf King Lord.

The sand-grain-sized Grand Emperor Bell landed below a glowing Crystal Stone, leaving no change in light nor drawing the attention of the few ancient beasts present.

This man brought back by the bat beast-man wore a pale face. If not for his high cheekbones, Ye Qiu would almost mistake him for Cain.

Moreover, his body temperature was extremely low, as if born with a natural chill.

Ye Qiu couldn’t fathom what this man was truly, but surely he wasn’t common, likely an ancient beast fond of dark phantasmagoria.

At this moment, the bat beast-man introduced him to the Wolf King Lord, "Master, this is the strong figure of my bat clan that I’ve been mentioning to you, Giara!"

The Wolf King Lord assessed Giara for a long time, satisfied, sensing Giara’s power also at the late peak of the realm.

"Very good, Think Tank, you’ve accomplished a great feat. With Giara’s help, that human can only surrender obediently." The Wolf King Lord laughed heartily.

"Lord, since it’s Giara’s first visit here, should I present you with a small gift?" Giara spoke softly.

"Oh? What might Giara’s gift be?" The Wolf King Lord saw nothing in Giara’s hands, genuinely unsure of the gift.

"The Lord may not know there’s a little ant hiding in this room," Giara finished, startling the Wolf King Lord, who then scanned around, seeing no shadow of anyone, chuckling, "Giara must be joking with me."

Giara shook his head, "Let me retrieve him, and the Lord will see."

Giara’s foot flashed, and then, in a corner of the room, a figure leaped out.

This figure acted swiftly, sprinting straight towards the exit upon appearing, only to be blocked by another figure before reaching the door.

Swish!

As the cold light flashed, this figure instantly wielded a sword.

However, as the sword thrust just out, it was quickly grasped at the tip by Giara’s hand. Shocked, this figure immediately abandoned the sword and dashed towards the side, but as soon as he shifted, he abruptly paused. Then, a mighty force propelled him, landing directly before the Wolf King Lord and the bat beast-man.

Giara clapped his hands, revealing a part of his true form; a gigantic fleshy wing sprouted behind him. The person who tried to escape was knocked away by the unexpected wing.

"Human!"

The Wolf King Lord glared at the youth on the ground, eyes filled with surprise, followed by anger, then joy.

"Thanks to Giara, or I wouldn’t have realized I had such a danger hidden in my room." The Wolf King was furious and happy.

Angry that he failed to notice this hidden human, happy to have acquired another human tribute.

This man Giara discovered was, naturally, the one who had earlier asked Ye Qiu for help to rescue his companions.

Actually, Ye Qiu realized this upon entering, but he didn’t interfere; his intention to save people was not Ye Qiu’s concern, nor did Ye Qiu want to concern himself with it. Whether the person lived or died wasn’t Ye Qiu’s business.

Unexpectedly, Giara also noticed him. Ye Qiu’s discovery owed to his powerful Soul Power and spiritual power, far surpassing other Martial Artists due to his identity as an Alchemist.

Yet how did Giara discern him?
