Chapter 2497: Entering the Death Domain

Translate to

The southwestern region of the Great World is basically considered a Death Domain.

According to the information Su Yang obtained from several Demon Beast Dynasties, this area once had hundreds of Intermediate Worlds. However, all these Intermediate Worlds were subjects of the Guardian God's farming.

Later, when the Guardian God felt the cultivation was adequate, they destroyed all these hundreds of Intermediate Worlds. The strong figures of these Intermediate Worlds even united in resistance, igniting an incredible battle in this region.

After this battle, the space in this area was almost completely shattered, with space rifts everywhere.

Of course, space rifts like these are nothing to Su Yang and his group now.

However, due to the residual power from the past great battle lingering in this area, even the Saint Emperor is unwilling to come here.

Couple that with the complete destruction of worlds in this region, it has fundamentally become a Death Domain. Usually, no one comes to this area. There's nothing here, just filled with danger; who would venture here for no reason?

The reason Su Yang came to this area is because a few core members of the Heavenly War Alliance fled here.

The Heavenly War Alliance was once notorious for evil deeds, hated by many people to the bone. However, the Alliance was previously powerful, and no one could do anything to them. After their disastrous defeat last time, leaving only these loners, many sought revenge against them.

These core members were clever enough, seeing the unfavorable situation, they dared not wander outside any longer, hurriedly fleeing into the Death Domain, hiding within.

Had they not fled here, they would probably have been slaughtered by others before Su Yang came looking for them.

This demonstrates the dire state the Heavenly War Alliance has fallen into after the last battle. These once arrogant people, flaunting amongst the Human Clan, ended up like this; it's entirely their own doing!

Su Yang entered the Death Domain with three Crystal Skulls and began searching within.

The expanse of this Death Domain is vast, as there were once hundreds of Intermediate Worlds here. An Intermediate World alone spans a great area, hundreds of Intermediate Worlds—that's a tremendous range!

Moreover, these Intermediate Worlds weren't adjacent, with considerable distances between two worlds.

Thus, this area is incredibly wide. With Su Yang's speed, thoroughly searching this region would take hundreds to thousands of years!

This is why, after the core members of the Heavenly War Alliance fled here, their enemies couldn't find them for revenge, as they couldn't locate them.

Su Yang came prepared this time, specifically bringing three Crystal Skulls. These three are skilled in tracking and experienced in chasing people.

However, even they were clueless in locating these individuals.

The complexity of this area is overwhelming. Everywhere lay shattered or overlapping spaces; inadvertent steps may lead into another spatial range. Furthermore, remnants of past battles abound, possibly wiping out any traces actually left by those individuals.

Though the three Crystal Skulls excel in tracking, locating these people under such conditions is challenging indeed.

After wandering these confines for over a decade, Su Yang and his group still found nothing, confined to a small range, failing to delve deeper.

Of course, Su Yang anticipated this situation. The Death Domain's vastness makes simply finding this group improbable. Su Yang was ready to search for a hundred years here. If not found by then, he intended to disguise as these individuals and act under the Heavenly War Alliance banner outside.

As it happened, after about thirty years of searching, the three Crystal Skulls discovered some traces.

This discovery brought Su Yang joy, although he had planned for contingencies. Ideally, he hoped to find these people; otherwise, posing under their name and later encountering them would be troublesome.

Now that traces are found, finding them is more probable.

Following the three Crystal Skulls, they pursued the traces diligently. After roughly half a year, the three Crystal Skulls essentially pinpointed the location.

"Unless unexpected, we'll find them within three days," the Great City Lord whispered.

"Really? That's wonderful!" Su Yang was delighted; finding them quickly meant advancing his plans sooner.

"However, things seem odd," remarked the Great City Lord.

"How so?" Su Yang asked curiously.

In a low voice, the Great City Lord said, "Judging by the traces, their number is scarce, likely only one. Moreover, this person is severely injured, likely even fearing for their life!"

"Oh?" Surprised, Su Yang pondered, frowning as he queried, "Could it be they turned against each other? Was this person attacked by the others, fleeing alone wounded?"

"Probably," the Great City Lord nodded.

Based on the estimated location by the three Crystal Skulls, Su Yang and his team found the person in less than three days.

To prevent escape, upon arriving at the location, Su Yang and his group split into four, sealing off all paths, surrounding completely.

Once on-site, Su Yang realized their actions were unnecessary, for the person's grave injuries prevented any escape.

Only one person lay there, heavily wounded, half his body gone, unable to regenerate. This indicated his power was nearly depleted; otherwise, he would have healed, not remained bleeding there.

Bloodied, the person seemed familiar to Su Yang from afar.

Su Yang felt confused; had he met this person before?

As Su Yang's group reached his side, the person lifted his head, looking directly at Su Yang.

A moment of silence, and Su Yang, wide-eyed, exclaimed in surprise, "How... how is it you?"
